A beautiful restaurant, good food, and good service. This is my go to place for special events because it makes you feel special and always impresses. If anything could be improved, the beer list could be enhanced with more local beers. Austin has too many great beers not to have them offered. I took a group of clients here the other night and they immediately took pictures of the inside and outside. It is really well done. At the end of the evening, everyone’s plate was clean That’s a good enough review for me. And Derek took care of our party of 12 without missing a beat. Afterward, some of the people needed a taxi and Senna??? called for one. After 20 min wait she called again. When it still didn’t show, she continued to call them and check on us. Finally she gave up and took them to their hotel in her own car!!! That is service above and beyond. The next time I’m looking for a restaurant to impress my clients, Sienna will be on the top of my list.

After a fine but not spectacular meal here last year I wasn’t gagging to return but my husband had an urgent need for Chianti and it’s very close by so we popped in for a quick supper — and emerged dazed and promising to never eat again a couple of hours later. Delicious fresh bread, glorious stuffed mission figs and a great beef carpaccio starter. Followed by absolutely delicious fresh pasta, a beautifully cooked pork loin and a well executed apple desert with chantilly cream. All washed down by a very reasonably priced bottle of Chianti and a Courvoisier… Our server(Greg) was exemplary — and with all that food and wine we escaped for less than $ 150 — a great spot for a family dinner or somewhere to take enthusiastic but quite conservative eaters, It’s not QUITE5* for me — it’s entirely subjective but there’s something about the aesthetic that doesn’t 100% work — but its certainly 4.5 and then some. The best sort of surprise.

Siena Ristorante Toscana is fine dining at it’s best! Went here with my husband & my father who was visiting from out of town awhile back. My father loves Italian food so we had to bring him here. He loved it! He was very impressed with the delicious food, the wine, the ambience, & the service was excellent! Overall this restaurant is a gem & we highly recommend it to all who are seeking a culinary treat & a lovely evening out.

We haven’t been to Siena in quite a while and was pretty disappointed recently when we went there for Mother’s Day dinner. First, the place was not packed. It seemed to be regular in terms of the number of filled tables. The service was pretty bad. It wasn’t rude, but it was slow and incomplete. Water glasses were never refilled. My son resorted to drinking my water. One of the appetizer dishes(long rectangular) was left on the table throughout the entire service. Only when dinner dishes were being put away did the waiter take it away(and there was no food on there to consume). There was no manager wandering through the dining room checking to see how things were going. Also, it says explicitly in the menu that you have to ASK for bread(which is quite good) with your meal. It made some reference about trying to be non-wasteful and also using gluten as an additional excuse. Sad. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

Lovely dinner, but terrible first impression due to hostess! We arrived at 6:30 and asked for a table but you would have thought we asked for a kidney or something equally as precious. The hostess wrinkled up her face when we answered her that we did not have reservations. She made a big commotion stating that she would have to see what she could do, and try… she reluctantly gathered menus and seated us in a large lovely dining room that remained only half full for the duration of the evening! I had picked Siena for two friends that had never been there and I was a little embarrassed when they joked that they hoped the rest of our dinner would not be so pretentious! Food was top-notch!

I ate there 14 yrs ago. It was the best Italian food I had ever eaten. The ambience was amazing. Traveling to Austin for the first time since then this weekend. I’ll be making a reservations for 2.

Delicious and interesting menu items, we tasted and shared each other’s selections. A lovely atmosphere. The service was excellent. The only thing I didn’t like is that we had reservations and our party grew a little and instead of seating us at a larger table, they stuck us in the front bar area. It seemed snooty, especially since we could see tables available. I’d eat here again.

The service here is amazing, the food was so good and tasty, very fresh and the wine list is fabulous. We definitely recommend it and can’t wait to come back. Don’t miss the desert.

My husband and I decided to call and see if they had reservations so we could check it out. We were able to make same evening reservations. We were pleased. We had Jeremy as our waiter. He was very well educated on the menu and history of the restaurant. He told us about the chefs, ingredients in different plates and entrees etc. We also enjoyed the environment and the overall look of the place. Our water glasses were always full and the waitstaff was very pleasant. I was very happy with the antipasta selection, as I have medically restrictive dietary needs. The salad I had was excellent as well. I am super excited they are nearby. Thank you chefs at Sienna.

Stopped in for apps, salads and desert. Our service was AMAZING. Thanks Jeremy! He was extremely attentive and impressively knowledgeable. The food was lovely– the black truffle vinegarette is outstanding. The salads were very fresh and well thought-out. We live right around the corner and are thrilled to have found this place. My only complaint would be the lack of a local beer selection.(But the wine list does the trick ;-))

Consistently delicious. Fresh baked rolls unlike any other. Friendly waitstaff. Romantic atmosphere. High quality food with special touches like the juniper berry sauce on the pork chop and the lemon burre blanc on the pecan crusted trout. Nice bar with fireplace. Tucked away cozy balcony tables for quiet evenings. Feels like being whisked away to Tuscany in the Texas hill country.

Excellent lunch for a business meeting, the pasta was delicious, the boar was savory, the atmosphere pleasantly old world. I can’t wait to bring a pretty lady here on a Friday evening.

I went to Sienna for lunch for the first time. The hostess promptly seated us at our table. It took a while for the server to come to our table and it wasn’t very busy. The menu had a nice variety. I started with a cup of the tomato basil soup with Parmesan croutons. The croutons added a delicious cheesy Rosemary flavor to the soup. For my entrée I ordered grilled chicken that was atop a portobello mushroom that was covered in smoked mozzarella with a balsamic reduction. Underneath the chicken was a cup or so of wilted spinach. The combination of flavors in the dish was was very appealing to the senses. The spinach added a nice crisp texture to the chicken and portobello. This was a great lunch option and was an average price.

The staff was GREAT! Crazy good service. The food was disappointing for the money. I got the sausage pasta with goat cheese. The sausage reminded me of sliced kielbasa, and the sauce tasted like it was from a can. I hope I came on an off night!

I come here with my department at work when we have a birthday or have a good month, the food is always good. I love the walnut crusted chicken! The specials are always great too and it is pretty fancy! I have been here for both dinner and lunch, it is very nice in the winter because there is a fire place. The waiters are always pleasant and know their stuff!

We spent a cosy Wednesday evening by the fire here catching up with people before everyone goes their separate ways for the holidays. I wasn’t expecting big things and it didn’t deliver them. It did however — do exactly what we wanted — and served up gigantic bowls of stodgy pasta and industrial quantities of wine by a roaring fire. Cheerful wait staff, plentiful wine, mixed food. The fig and mussel antipasti were both pretty good — the calamari were greasy and rubbery And distinctly lacking in flavour(this makes me sad), squid is my favourite. The chicken and mushroom main was pretty uneventful(a bit rubbery) and the pasta was ok. Two stars for the food but four for the atmosphere and the fact that they have Taittinger by the glass. Cosy comfort food in the friendliest atmosphere. Probably a bit overpriced but hell. They’re only a mile from my front door and they’re lovely.

As a Northwest Hills neighborhood restaurant we’ve been coming here on and off for easily 20 years. Yesterday’s visit reinforced the so-so nature of this place. When we walked in we were told we couldn’t be seated because there were no menus. This sounded so odd that I asked the hostess to repeat herself. I did confirm, however, that our reserved table was available and managed to convince her that I rather sit at a table without a menu than stand in the doorway. On the other hand… the seat cushions are so old and worn out that standing might not have been a bad option. They apparently contain inner springs that are barely contained within worn out foam so it’s akin to sitting on a lumpy rock. Needless to say, these chairs are far from comfortable. I ordered a serving of ribollita when the waiter first came over to introduce himself and the menu. When he came back to take our order he did not bring the soup. After we ordered the rest of our meal he stated he would bring my soup after other dishes we had just ordered. What part of ordering an appetizer immediately upon sitting did he not understand? And as for it being soup, you could have stuck a fork in it it was so thick with so little broth. The flavor was okay. The prosciutto wrapped goat cheese stuffed figs were the highlight of the meal. Our main course was a big disappointment. We ordered the daily special that was a venison ragu. The sauce was SO incredibly salty that we might as well been consuming a salt shaker. My husband and I have a serious beef with restaurants that insist on drowning their food in salt. One, it is so unnecessary(¼ of the salt would have more than sufficed), two, it is unhealthy, and three, it ends up overpowering every other flavor. If I hadn’t been hungry, I would have sent it back to the kitchen. As it stands, I won’t be going back to Siena anytime soon.

Service and atmosphere is great. Our waiter was very nice and informative about the menu options. The carpaccio is sooo bland. Couldn’t taste anything except for the spicy mayo sauce that was on it. The mussels taste very fishy, not in a good way. The broth is nice to dip bread in though. The Mele salad was great! Crisp apples and spinach, order the dressing on the side though. The branzino was delicious as well. A little salty, but very good. The tiramisu was bland as well. No espresso or rum taste. It actually tastes like store bought, from HEB or something. Not impressed. Overall, not worth it for the price. Doubt we’ll return other than for happy hour or something.

Let’s start with this. The Pappardelle al Cinghiale(ribbon pasta with chianti braised wild boar) is solid 5 star amazing. Fresh thin pasta ribbons that melt in your mouth intertwined with a rich deep thick ragu with tasty small chunks of meat. Freaking awesome, and I’d recommend as one of the best pastas you will ever eat. Wife seemed stoked about the ravioli too. A little down the star scale, the Frito was good, but a bit oily, and I would warn others that it’s a huge plate. Big isn’t really a negative, just noting it was way more than the two of us needed for sharing as an appetizer. Campo salad was simple fresh and attractive, but a bit too oily for my taste. Biggest negative was the restaurant was VERYHOT. After a few minutes wife had her wrap off that she’d worn all day, and beads of sweat were on my brow. Mentioned to waiter and he said it was hard for him to tell because«he was always hot there». By the end of the meal I was starting to occasionally feel a bit of cool relief, but overall it made the experience much less pleasant. Odd since it was a balmy, not hot, night outside. I’m optimistic that was unusual, as we liked the setting and food enough to plan to return soon, and hope for a comfortable overall 5 star experience.

Great place with a gorgeous setting. Our last few visits have been fantastic. We shared a variety of pasta and meat dishes for my daughter’s birthday(8) and it was perfect. Good bread too.

The food, bar, service, and atmosphere are all fantastic. The décor is stonework and dark wood, very reminiscent of a true Tuscan villa. The food choices were plentiful and very tasty. We started with appetizers of calamari and fried chicken livers. The calamari was nice and crispy and had bonus bites of shrimp and some sort of white fish – cod, maybe? The chicken livers were wrapped in bacon and deep fried. We split a «side» salad, which was more than enough for the two of us. For entrees, we had two of the daily specials, a freshly made ravioli stuffed with mushroom and a selection of wood-fired-grilled beef, port, and lamb served atop a reduction sauce that was a perfect compliment. From the bar, I ordered an old fashioned, but with my own twist – glenlivet instead of bourbon, ½ the sugar, and 2x the bitters. The server got the order right, and the bar tender delivered right on the money. With my entrée, I ordered a nice Chianti by the glass, which was not too expensive($ 13, maybe?) and quite good. Alas, we were too full to try any desserts. The service was spot on. Server was attentive when we needed her, but otherwise left us alone to enjoy a leisurely multi course meal. Not quite Tuscany, but close enough from right here in Austin.

Very nice atmosphere … Had the carpaccio which was good. Ordered the grilled snapper … Small portion and a little overlooked … The company I was with made up for it, but the wait from appetizer to entrée was at least 30 minutes.

Quick stop for snacks and some wine. All of the snacks were sub par at best, nothing worth noting honestly. I guess the 300 dollar bottle of wine saved us from remembering the food we ate!

How this restaurant got a a top Zagat review in 2012 is beyond my wildest imagination especially since it was given a rating of 23 which means pretty excellent. I’m convinced that whoever has given these ratings has either a never eaten at a true Italian restaurant or B has never stepped out of Austin to eat at a northern Italian restaurant. First the interior. While it may resemble Tuscanny only by the fact that it is using Austin limestone and the colors resemble that of Siena, the rest it is absolutely a mimicry. The carpet needs replacement — it is filthy and worn. The linoleum is so dogged that there are chips in it. The silverware is cheap like you would find in the high school cafeteria. Then comes the waiters and the waitstaff –not all there. They have no clue where to serve their dishes or who ordered what. They’re constantly looking at their order pad and still getting it wrong. So management needs to invest in some training. Don’t expect them to know what they’re doing if you’re there with a party of over 20 people either. Now for the food. I dread writing this however when I asked the waiter if the ravioli was fresh he shook his head yes yes so were the ingredients. Unfortunately they weren’t these are premade cookie cutter raviolis that are coming either from Cosco or from another supplier. They weren’t even cooked properly. There were pockets of air and the mush inside was not artichoke or ricotta. Drenched in a red sauce that obviously was not made fresh and then doused with way too much pecorino processed cheese. Disgusting that so much of my plate was filled with the gunk and I had to move it to the side. A friend had the salmon on top of salad for lunch and her salmon was basically raw inside. Of course these were farm fished salmon. If this is what passes for Northern Italian cuisine well I think they’ve got a hole in their heads. Or maybe I need one in mine? As in shooting myself, for eating at that establishment. I am so looking forward to the new restaurant at the Granduca Hotel opening in October and having a real Italian experience.

It’s funny that Italian places are popping up everywhere while this little gem has remained solidly out of site on 360. Whenever my parents come into town, I panic. Where should I take them for dinner? They don’t have the patience for the frou frou tiny plates everyone’s putting out these days — nor the desire to spend hundreds of dollars on foams and gastriques. They like ethnic food but not super scary or spicy or diarrhea-inducing ethnic food. They’re down for adventures but also don’t value that over some good service and a delicious meal. So… what can I find that’s in the middle of those things? Well this weekend, it was Siena. The service was good, the food was okay-to-good, the ambiance was nice, the prices were spendy but not overly so. To put it more simply, TL: DR, its a decent spot that is reliably there, takes reservations, never puts you at a community dining table and is a no-fuss Italian experience.

My husband and I frequent this restaurant quite often. Our favorite thing is to sit at the bar after work and drink wine. They have the best happy hour menu until 7pm, leaving you stuffed and your wallet still in good shape. We consistently get their prosciutto wrapped figs, calamari and their flatbread. We honestly prefer the bar area way more than the restaurant so I cannot really review the back area. I will say the last time we ate in the back it was a bit dated and boring. The bar is way more inviting.

They get all the stars for their delicious and prompt food, great customer service, beautiful ambience and relatively decent prices. I am not sure if free birthday desserts are promised but they gave me one making me a happy girl :) We ordered the chicken gnocchi(hands down my favorite), the spinach artichoke and cheese ravioli, and the sausage something in Italian. The pasta is handmade and super fresh. Not too heavy, just the perfect amount of seasoning and sauce. I think this is officially my new favorite Italian place in Austin! Ps — our waiter highly recommended the chocolate mousse for dessert and he was right. It hit the spot and was divine :)
