My sorority had their spring formal here a few weeks ago and it was a nice setting for the event. We were in formal gowns, which is unusual for us, so it was nice to have the event at a more formal venue. My only complaint is that some girls complained that the bottom of their dresses were black from the floor– my dress was black though, so I didn’t notice anything. The space was very large, there was a generously sized dance floor & room for a band, a seating area where there was a large photo booth, a bar area with more seating, and then a separate room where a fun cupcake bar was set up. I can’t speak to how the venue was in terms of planning, and ease of working with, but it was much larger than venues we’ve had in the past downtown for the same budget.

My husband and I will always have a special place in our heart for Shoal Crossing Event Center since we DID get married there. :) In a nutshell, they have great food, staffing and facility. The venue’s actual location was perfect for us for a few reasons: 1) We wanted to showcase North Austin, where we live 2) Easy access to the Domain(for wedding guest shopping & dining) 3) Plenty of hotels nearby 4) Easy to get to 5) Free parking We received such great service from the owner & our Coordinator, Elena. Elena was very easy to work with, and was always accommodating and prompt in her communications. We were offered many options for food and they were flexible with our requests. To top it off, their prices were unbeatable. Our wedding was pretty close to perfect. Outside vendors didn’t have any issues with setup & breakdown. Shoal Crossing allowed us to use the space to create the vision we had. We had a really great experience and would highly recommend this venue!

Excellent venue and staff! Sterling Affairs provided the lighting and catering for our annual«Party in Pink» breast cancer benefit and everything went as smoothly as we could have hoped for. The owner, Larry is a true Pro at what he does and the whole team were pleasure to work with! A+

As we were beginning to plan our wedding we seriously considered Shoal Crossing. Oliver Belche went above and beyond in helping us to understand and envision having our wedding at Shoal Crossing. He was available, quick to respond, and accommodating. The menu looked amazing and they were very open to customization(not to mention they have unbeatable prices). Even though we ended up choosing a different venue we highly recommend considering Shoal Crossing for a wedding/event. Ask for Oliver!

Shoal Crossing Event Center and Sterling Affairs Catering: Great food, staff and facility. I’ve have to plan many special functions over the years for my family & friends and my business. Sterling Affairs out shined them all. First of all, great location, I wasn’t forced into a hotel to fit my party. Plenty of free parking and easy convenient location. The interior was beautiful with designer touches(better than a stark ballroom). The coordinator offered many options and was very flexible with my requests. The food was amazing. Wasn’t typical catering food. Party went off without a hitch and the staff took care of all my guests. Wonderful experience!

Pretty good place for an event, but seemed a bit small for the St. Patrick’s Day festival. Maybe they weren’t expecting such a big crowd, but it IS Austin, land of popular festivals. The restrooms aren’t well marked, though the ones in back are less frequented. Other than that, the place seemed nice enough.

Great venue and a very accommodating during a company Christmas party. The Staff was attentive and the food was great; so much so, that they actually left out the excess that was cooked so others could go back until it was gone.(versus not putting it out when it was already paid for) Overall, the place is nice and offers a diverse amount of space for crowds large or small.

What a great venue for the first annual«Oyster Fest». All the oyster booths were outside(under a tent) with easy access to the main building. The interior is upscale with comfortable chairs and booths. They had a live band with room to dance and multiple areas to be romantic or to party! They also have a great area for weddings. I liked the fact of the north location(Mo-Pac &183). Sure beats going downtown or hotel for an event like the Oyster Fest.
