I had a hair emergency and needed help ASAP. I had done my research before showing up and wanted to make sure I got the right products. I talked to one of the employees and she explained to me what I needed and what products would work the best to achieve my desired result. I was a little nervous since it wasn’t Armstrong McCall (I’m a licensed esthethican) and not sure the qualifications of the employees at Sallys. I am happy to report that the young lady who helped me gave me great advice and I corrected the issue.

Waked into Sally’s after visiting another beauty supply store which I was barely acknowledged at. I was immediately greeted here by the cashier at the front, who was ringing up a customer. After she was done I asked for help while she was getting her register in order. She immediately helped me find the product I needed, and when I asked if I should use additional products with it, she said it wasn’t needed. Extremely helpful and not pushy. Great experience.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I must say I did NOT like it. The first time I went here I felt so uncomfortable that by the time I left I was embarrassed. The woman that was tall with long blonde hair I want to say (she must be some kind of assistant manager or someone that’s in charge) kept following me around like I was going to steal something. And they’re not even inconspicuous about it. They just stand near you and act like they are facing the merchandise or they go on the other side and pretend to be facing merch on those aisles lol. It’s so pathetic! Then the manager was this old lady and she was pretty rude and impatient. I was interested in stripping my hair, bleaching it, and dying it so naturally there were questions I had to ask her. She just seemed like I was annoying her and she didn’t want to be bothered with me or my questions. Well as closing time neared of course they rudely let me know hey you need to leave it’s time for closing. I didn’t purchase anything because frankly with that kind of service and those attitudes I didn’t feel they deserved my money or business. And it also seems like the manager over at the Sally’s on Riverside agrees with me that store has CS issues lol.

The ION and Wella hair-​care product lines for coloring are very good. ION make a sensitive scalp developer that is a lot less brutal for those with more delicate scalps…
You will also find L’oreal hair color here, too.
Velcro rollers are very inexpensive here and can create added volume to your hairdo.
The generic hairsprays are some of the strongest I have used… just please make sure you are getting ones that mention anti-​humidity in this climate…
The protein fillers are outstanding and really help your hair color stick if you hit a wall and the permanent colors are not looking as good as they used to…
Buying combs in the boxes (in bulk) saves a lot of money.
The finger nail file selection is cheap, diverse, and effective.
The prices are amazing, especially with the discount card… I get great coupons regularly as well as emails and surveys to take that send me more discounts…
I have acquired clippers, hair dryers, hair accessories, coloring supplies, color correctors, conditioners, lotions, BUMP-​ITs (and yes those really work!), and nail polish here, and have not been disappointed yet.
I also like how you can look online at your previous purchases to remember which items you had gotten and at what price so that you can prepare yourself with a ballpark for your next Sally «exc-​hair-​sion»…
