I’m not a runner, but I’ve been BodyPumping aggressively the past few months and the arches on my feet are not happy with me. I came here hoping to get answers about why my feet were hurting and what shoes might provide support. The staff met and exceeded my expectations! The staff is incredibly knowledgable about feet and leg issues and provided a lot of valuable information. They were able to identify the name of my likely ailment(plantar fasciitis, a common runner condition typically due to insufficient stretching… oops) and evaluated the way I stand, walk, and my type of arches. I found a solid, cute shoe that provides superior support. Check this place out if you’re in the market for quality running and work out gear!

I have been back twice and didn’t have the issues I did the first time. They were well staffed and happy to offer help. Unfortunately they didn’t have my size shoe in stock either time. They checked the other location but they were out as well. In the end they offered to order them online but it wasn’t clear when I would get them. Ultimately it was just easier to order from Amazon.

Everyone working or part of the training team knows their stuff when it comes to running. By far the best running store in Austin. Great selection of running shoes to chose from and awesome running gear.

As a runner who struggles with overpronation, It’s a hassle finding the perfect pair that doesn’t cause discomfort. Surfing the Internet for advice, I came across an article that one of the Rogue team members wrote talking about overpronation. I sent the writer, Chris, an email with my problems, and he recommended the Nike Pegasus. Taking him for his word, I tried on a pair and they were PERFECT. My one month search was finally over. If Rogue employees are so good that they could fit me via EMAIL, I can only imagine how good they are in person. Thanks again Rogue! You all are awesome.

I am always keen to support a locally owned business rather than get my shoes elsewhere but the service here is just terrible. I was today and there seems to be one person working and three customers. The person working could t be bothered to acknowledge the fact that that people were waiting with a «sorry we’re a little busy/understaffed I’ll be with you as soon as I can» she seems blissfully content to ignore the customers that she wasn’t talking to. After a bit of waiting I eventually gave up and walked out. A tiny update: One of the owners reached out to me about this so credit where credit is due. They are are at least concerned.

My happy place. Love my coach, teammates and the overall sense of community at Rogue. The training programs are incredibly supportive and for all levels of runners, beginners to elites. Also, the best place in Austin to be fitted for running shoes and apparel!

I’ve been training with Rogue for about a year, I’ve done two training programs with them and now am doing the stand-alone saturday run program. I was thinking about this review while I was running 18 miles this morning, about how different my training would be without Rogue. In the fall I trained with them and PR’d at 3M and did my first full marathon. I have been training for tris for the past 4 years and have stepped into longer distances. I workout about 3.5 hours a day and a hell of a lot longer on weekends. It’s not always easy to motivate myself for each workout. Which is why it was so refreshing and helpful to have the stress of my run responsibilities taken away from me– you show up for your quality workout, you work hard, and then you go home. Shoutout to some great trainers– I know Marilyn and Peri in particular have been great to me. They give you a schedule for your other workouts(which I don’t follow, but it’s still there, which is helpful,) and best of all, on Saturday Rogue provides you with a map and directions for 2 – 20 miles which have water and gatorade stops every 2 miles. This has changed my long runs. I no longer have to stuff gels into my clothes before i go running, wonder about where to find water, stop to buy gatorade at mile 10 that I have to carry around for 6 miles, or desperately try to find a route to fulfill my distance needs. I show up at 5.30(or 6.30 or 7, depending on season and distance) and once I start running, I know I’m going to make it. I chat to other runners, joke at water stops, and yes, the running is still hard, but it’s so much easier not to quit when I know that there are literally hundreds of other people taking those exact steps in front and behind me. We’re all pounding the pavement, and hey, it’s only two miles to the next water stop. So thank you Rogue, for being the best training partner I’ve found in Austin.

I’m really happy to see that all 11 reviewers have had perfect five-star experiences here, so I guess mine was an anomaly. Actually feeling kind of shamed into giving them three stars instead of two. Service: I had been in a few times to accompany friends buying running shoes and the service seemed decent, but not fantastic. When I went in last weekend to buy some new Brooks Ghosts, though, the service was really off. When I walked in I was the only person there, but the two people behind the counter were more consumed with chatting about which marathon there were going to run next than to greet or help me. Product: When one finally came over, she said they only had 2 of the 5 colors available. This was fine, except they didn’t have either color in an 8.5OR a 9. The Ghost is one of the most popular running shoes of all time, and I don’t think my foot size is that out of the ordinary. Instead of offering to contact other stores, she incessantly kept trying to push off Saucony’s on me. Store: Even if you get good service, the space is kind of awkward(front half is crammed with stuff and the back half is completely empty) and the shoe selection is the sparsest I’ve seen in Austin. They do have a lot of foam rollers though. I ended up going to Texas Running Company down the street and it was LEAGUES better than my experience here. I would only try this place if other stores don’t have your shoe or if you need a foam roller.

Rogue is a great place to get running gear whether you are starting out or your an elite runner. Their staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have really good shoe and selection gear. They have great programs for Beginning Runners to Advanced Runners and people that are interested in Trail Running. Also they have a travel program for people who want to go running in certain parts of the world. Rogue is behind this great non-profit called Marathon High which encourages middle schoolers and high schoolers to become runners. So yes Rogue is a great place to go for your running needs.

The staff at Rogue were very accommodating to my needs even though I’m not a hardcore runner. They weren’t pretentious or egotistical or snobby, and spent a lot of time with me making sure I had the right gear. I’ll definitely be back

I’ve been training at Rogue for over a year now, mainly to stay fit and prepare for races. The training programs are great, staff and fellow runners supportive, and the retail staff knowledgeable. It’s a fun place to train, with all levels of runners welcome.

I have been running with Rogue since it started over 10 years ago. I have been in a variety of Rogue training programs, from very slow newbies to much more serious runners. In all cases the groups have motivated me to become a better runner and have enabled me to run in and see a wide variety of neighborhoods in Austin. The coaches are outstanding — they are equally welcoming and supportive whether you are just getting started, or already an accomplished runner. The runs are well supported and planned. It has helped me to run with others that are at my pace — and with the large number of groups and runners, there are always 5 – 10 runners right at my pace. It makes the runs go by so much quicker and easier! I was not a runner before I signed up for Rogue in 2003. Steve, Ruth and Carolyn are dedicated to getting everyone running, even us non-runners. They kept encouraging me and eventually enabled me to qualify for and run the Boston Marathon. I never would have gotten there without them.

I’ve been training with Rogue since 2006 and since the opening of their 1st retail in East Austin, it’s only place I buy my running gear. The retail staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and their training staff is second to none!

Good selection, knowledgeable staff, but the best part is the training groups. New facility is bigger/nicer than the one on east side(especially the bathrooms). If you’re trying to improve your running, Rogue is the place to be and they have several different groups available to suit everyone’s needs. Parking is still limited on premises during certain times, but there’s plenty of street parking available nearby. Since the facility is shared with Pure Austin Fitness, expect to hear some loud music from their group classes when you’re in store. TIP: Join a running group to get a 15% of discount on merchandise.

I’m visiting Austin for a couple of months. In order to keep on training consistently, I asked around for running groups I could join. Everyone pointed me to Rogue, so when I got to Austin I went over there and signed up. This decision has made my stay here in Austin awesome. My experiences with Rogue: The staff is super friendly and effective when signing me up and they were always ready to answer any questions I had. They assigned me to a suitable team(they have groups at every level): Steve Sisson is a great coach and my team is fast, dedicated & super nice, which is exactly what I wished for. I bought two pairs of running shoes at Rogue, on both occasions I got great advice. Their collection has plenty of variety. The shop is very competitive when it comes to pricing when you train with Rogue(good discount & price matching if you still find the product cheaper in another shop). Their new location is super cool! Go there, sign up for a training program and get happier & healthier & faster.

Rogue has been a part of my family since 2010 and the love affair just keeps getting better. The new store is awesome and they have a great selection of running apparel. But no one really«just» shops at Rogue… join us for a run sometime. It will change your life.

The staff at Rogue are all runners and will get you fitted into the right shoe for your needs. The training programs and coaches are the best in town… They provide excellent training and add a lot of fun into the mix. They have frequent classes on injury prevention, nutrition, sports psychology, and everything else related to running. The coffee and juice bar in the speedshop makes it an awesome place to hang out after training or shopping. Great overall concept!

Rogue Running has very quickly become my go-to place for all things running in Austin. The shoe and gear selection isn’t the most EXPANSIVE of all stores I have been in, but it is certainly the most INTELLIGENT of all collections. If you want a thousand shoe choices without any thought or quality, go to Foot Locker. Rogue only carries products that the staff(who are all runners) believe in and can vouch for. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, not cold, pretentious, and corporate like you’ll find at some other run specialty shops. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile for customers. If you are looking for a training group, look no further than Rogue. I have improved my personal bests at all distances with NO major injuries through the guidance of the incredible coaches at Rogue. I would not be able to accomplish my goals without the incredible teammates and friends that I have made since joining last Summer. The new location on Pressler is incredible, and it is worth seeing, even if you’re not in the market for any running gear.
