Rita is a CMP — I think that means certified medical pedicurist. I found her because I take an older friend there for pedicures. My friend has feet that require specialized care — and sometimes I get a pedicure when I am there with her. I worry about the cleanliness of regular nail salons — but I never, never worry here. I remember a story on the TV news with the sad husband pining over his wife who died from a salon caused foot infection. Yikes! Anyway, Rita treats diabetics and other people for whom total cleanliness is a real issue. She doesn’t cut tissue or nails — only filing and my feet always look great. She uses an autoclave to sterilize instruments(before it was required) and a sanitized tub for soaking. Also she says I have a little fungus issue — Eewww! But I got a product from her to help. This place isn’t the Ritz! It is in a hair salon with all older ladies — an old timey hair salon. It’s a trip! She has a little cozy corner. She does nails too — but I am guessing she does way more pedicures. She paints the nails too — but the prep work is the specialty. She is not old, though and a very nice and personable lady. Her prices are maybe a little higher than a nail salon factory — and probably less than a fancy schmancy nail salon. Call for prices — I forget what they are — my friend usually pays for mine. It is next to Ichiban on Burnet Road — same side of the street and in the same building as some insurance company.
