Rejuvenations offers massage therapy of a variety of types, and the owner-​masseuse, Karen Currie, is a massage wizard. Her shop is located in the complex of businesses housing Alamo drafthouse on S. Lamar. Karen is a extremely knowledgeable about connections between parts of the body. She understands that sometimes the «pain that ails you» stems from problems in other parts of the body. She is very thorough, a good listener to what you need, takes her time, and sends you off mentally to a relaxing place. She consistently gives great massages. Also, she’s equally proficient at dealing with men’s and women’s massage needs. Both my wife and I are Karen’s clients — and we’re polar opposites physically. My wife is petite and I’m a big guy. The massage room is simple but very comfortable in terms of temperature and mood. And, to give you a sense for how much we like it, we have standing appointments monthly. It’s always something to look forward to.
