Great experience! Very clean, friendly staff, and good food. I had the Blakened Mahi Mahi with Avacado Pico. The fish was seasoned very well and wasn’t dry. The Corn tortilla and cabbage complimented the fish well. Will definitely return.

What has happened to Quallty Seafood? Austin deserves good seafood, and this place used to provide it. But last night’s meal was dreadful. The fried shrimp was probably the worst dish I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. The batter was like hardened cardboard, and the shrimps were way overcooked. The coleslaw had absolutely no taste, and the fries were cold. My friend’s fried clams were a disgrace. This is so disappointing, as I’ve been to Quaiity Seafood many, many times – though not in the past year – and have never before been disappointed.

I come here to get sushi grade tuna. The quality of the fish is always great and the prices are very fair. Tuna is usually about $ 20 a pound and considering the price of sushi this is a much cheaper option for sashimi than going to a sushi restaurant. Also picked up some sushi grade frozen Atlantic salmon.

Very delish! Our first time here! We finally found a place in Austin that has fresh seafood! None of that nasty overly fried catfish parlor crap! The shrimp was perfect! The calamari was TODIEFOR! Regretting not getting the oysters but there’s always next time! Main course was salmon and it was cooked to perfection! Can’t wait until our next time!

We ate at the restaurant but didn’t buy anything from the seafood market. We did walk thru the market and look around. It looked like they had a good selection of fresh seafood with good prices. They also had some nice looking boudin links too.

What can a gal say?! It’s my absolute favorite! I enjoy sitting at the bar with friends, ordering a glass of wine plus fried oysters, and conversing with all the regulars. And to top it all off, I was graced by local comedian Danny Palumbo’s presence this evening! I’m an absolute fan! Cheers to oysters and funny people!

This place has doubled in size from original restaurant and the line never went down from the minute we got here until we left. Fried oysters were HUGE and delicious but fried shrimp were relatively small and average. Very friendly staff and quick service saved the day. Of course we’ll be back for more oysters!

I have no clue why this place has such great reviews. I NEVER leave bad reviews. But for them i must. I was« Unilocaled» and steared wrong based on these reviews. Maybe if you buy from the market it would be worth it but we sat in and ordered food. I will say the half shell oysters are the best oysters I’ve ever had. Very fresh and hands down delicious. But that’s the onl6 good thing I have to say. I ordered crab cakes with scallops and Mac and cheese. The crab cakes were not very tasty and super dry and the scallops were fried but gooey on the inside, I spit it out it was so gross.(and I LOVE scallops) i will note that the Mac and cheese was made with spigetti noodles and not too bad. My boyfriend got fried shrimp we both tried it and agreed that they were small, cold and bland. 15 dollars for 6 small, cold nothing special shrimp which made no sense because it took them almost 40 minutes to bring us the food and said it took so long because it was«freshly» made. We were not alone. All 3 of the tables around us were also complaining and one lady appologized to her husband and said« Unilocal gave it great reviews» i felt betrayed by you all as did she. The food is served on cafeteria plates and you have to go get your own silverware, which in my opinion is not a problem at all! Except the silverware area was filthy and some of the forks and spoons were so clearly not clean. We spent almost 60 dollars for two people on a place we were told was«reasonable» and we were both still hungry! We went through a drive through on the way home after dinner! I would have rather gotten dressed up and gone to pappadex and spent less/the same instead of sitting in a gross cafeteria with nasty food(except the oysters, those were fantastic). I would not reccomend. But maybe some of the other plates and sides would be yummy. There ettufee looked fantastic a couple tables over and on Thursdays their crawfish appeared to be reasonably price! So all up to you.

This place looks a little sketchy from the outside but is actually really good. We went here after someone we know recommended it to us. I had the fried clams and my husband had the shrimp po boy. Both were good.

Mid week I had sea food ten feet from Copano Bay and it sucked! But just 215 miles away from Gulf of Mexico in Austin Texas I had the best oyster on the half shell, Gulf shrimp ever love this place!

Secret gem of Austin seafood!!! Absolutely love this place. Great seafood for a ridiculously reasonable price. The atmosphere isn’t romantic or cozy, but it’s lively and makes you forget you are many hours away from an ocean.

Well — although the location is a bit of a distance we have found that for fresh fish to seafood it’s not only good bang for your buck but just plain good! 4.5– rating-slightly less than perfect! Also right up front kudos to the waitstaff– one of the few places where you see the same faces year after year!!! And they all seem to work as you’d expect a well oiled machine. I’ve come to count on the nice young man that takes our order-every time. It’s a multi purpose place– fresh fish and seafood market and ability to purchase larger quantities of sides, deserts and specialty items on the market side and then a nice casual full bar area– then there sate plenty of tables and booths and the area that borders the kitchen where you line up to order and at the opposite end of the room there is a private dining area that can be reserved, and another bar area with large grilling area where shucking and plating lots of oysters goes down… I have to confess that although I’ve not graduated to raw oysters, the charcoal grilled oysters with butter and wine or Parmesan or one of many options are absolutely delicious and tonight they were fresh as always but absolutely huge!!! To quote another Italian woman… YUMMO! Now my dining partner is actually allergic to shellfish to the point of it stopping his beating heartso he always gets a grilled fish sometimes ruby trout or redfish or whatever other fresh goodness they have on the board, ME?, I dive right into the seafood– preferably the lobster or my favorite the king crab legs. It takes me a while but I can eat a respectable pound of legs and usually get a side of hush puppies too. They are so much more delectable than the snow crab for me, a real treat! The sides that have been tried have all been good especially the tossed salad, the fresh green beans, the tater salad-the debate is which two and will you have enough of an appetite to eat them. I’ve also partaken of dessert occasionally and the«(sugar)crack pie» is the one to beat if they have any left… their cobblers with ice cream are good too. Oh and it is Austin after all and there is LIVEMUSIC select nights!!! You really need to try it –a great place during the Lenten Season(without the pie of course) !

Nice seafood restaurant/market with a nice cozy atmosphere. Had a Jazz band while I was there kept that my foot tapping the entire time. Ordered a half dozen oysters and the blackened grill shrimp, both items were very tasty. They have a wide selection of seafood both fried and grilled. They also have nightly specials, tonight’s special(Monday) was a pound of King Crab Legs for 19.99. If in the area again would definitely return.

I really want to love this place but… First of all the grilled oysters wedelicious. Wish we had not ordered anything else. Shoyster cocktail was pretty good. 3 shrimp and 3 oysters in ALOT of red sauce. Again the oysters were very good. The fried food was terrible. Cod was over cooked very dry and hard. The fried shrimp were limp not crispy and were shriveled little lumps. Corn and cole slaw were ok. I’d go back for the oysters but nothing else. Atmosphere not.

Great for lunch. Arrive before noon as parking can be a bit cramped. You’ll order at the counter but the food is brought to you. Service is generally pretty good, cheerful employees, and the selection is always fresh.

I used to go to this place, but I had 2 consecutive string of very poor customer service a few years back. So bad, I remember enough to write this review today. Being one of the few places in town that can offer live crayfish by reservation, here are my 2 bad experiences. (1) I reserved the craw-fish bag a few days early, as required and had planned for a craw-fish party. I had called to say I was going to be a little late. Guy on the phone says its ok as long as you get there before 4pm. Come in around 3, some big Hispanic guy says«…nope, we threw away your ticket because your late.» I had no idea what this guys deal was, but he was insistent ready to screw me in a very rude way even though I followed their process. Time and time he would say«too bad», etc. I mean, really non-friendly. Another guy came and after 10 mins of explaining the situation he reluctantly sold me the bag since he knew they were over sold and someone was getting screwed. (2) Second bad experience. No problem with the reservation like in the first scenario, but when they brought out the bag of craw-fish, they were all CLEARLYALLDEAD. I’ve been doing craw fish for decades and the sales person try to explain how they were dormant or the fridge was just cold. I’m like whatever, I’m not stupid. Your going to get some motion as long as its not ice cold. He finally agrees to get me another bag since he figured I was on to him. When that one came out, craw-fish was moving good, etc., and I told him, that’s how craw-fish are suppose to move. I just about had it at that point. They cant get their act together and I haven’t been back in 3+ years. I go to Fiesta now to get my live craw-fish. Its important to note, I’m a minority american. I cant prove they are prejudice, but this place is run by low class trailer park type. I’ve never had this problem with Fiesta. I went to Quality Seafood because they reserved the craw-fish, but with Fiesta, it can be risky if they are sold out, which I’ve never had happen. I’ll never come back to this crappy place.
