Really solid food truck fare! I had the bacon burger. It was well-cooked, juicy and had a mountain of caramelized onions and coma-inducing cheese. The grilled cheese with bacon was similarly greasy and delicious. Points for thick cut French fries that appeared to be sliced in-house. This review would easily be five stars if a bit more attention were paid to the breads on these delectable sandwiches and burgers. No need to have an artisan baker in the truck, but maybe a step up from the stuff that comes in a plastic bag. No matter! I’m still a big fan!

This place is awesome. When you work at UT, and often ‘forget’ to bring lunch, you want as much variety as possible. This place is my go-to burger place(so far I’ve only been once — but I am looking forward to tasting the crepes). Better than Fat Sals burgers for sure, in terms of quality and price. I haven’t read others reviews but from the guff that food trucks often get, I assume people have unrealistically high expectations. Come on! It’s one guy in a small cube serving up a generous menu!

I can’t believe I forgot to check in last week! But I’ve been here before, I promise. All my friends know I’m obsessed with fries… It’s actually a little embarrassing. I’ll try to order fries everywhere, even if it’s not on the menu. So here comes this place, with not only just fries, but OPTIONS for your fries… Different SAUCES. Different TOPPINGS… Omg! Well to be honest, I just wanted to check out what their naked fries were like on my first try. Scope it out a little, see if there was substance behind the bold flavors of the various toppings(meats, cheeses, peppers, combinations of such). And the thick cut fries definitely passed my tastebud test! I loved the thick cut. It had just the right amount of seasoning and flavor and just the right amount of crispy crunch around the edges. Soft in the middle… Totally snackable. The small was a hefty portion. I got the spicy ketchup and sweet chili sauces. Preferred the sweet chili of the two. I also probably had the best grilled cheese of my life here… While waiting, I noticed that he likes to call people by what they ordered hahaha. I was renamed«Fancy Grilled Cheese» by the chef and, who I presumed to be, the food truck owner after my order. Not only do they have grilled cheeses, but also burgers and crepes as well. The main thing to remember is that you can customize anything! They have a list of the free customizations you can make at the top of the menu. I added tomatoes, jalepenos and garlic butter to my turkey cheese. The owner is also super chill and seems to really care about customer experience. He was asking for feedback on the design of his menu, which was recently revamped. I really liked that, even though I had nothing constructive to say… LOL! Now that I think about it, I do have a suggestion! But it’s not related to the menu design. :P I would love to see curry ketchup as an available sauce though! That stuff is the bombbbbb.

I want to like this place significantly more. But there’s some stuff that just didn’t work out. 3.5 if I could do it. The fries… were a mixture of awesome and very bleh. Awesome: when they come fresh out of the fryer — crisp, well seasoned, with great texture, shattering bite and fluffy interior. The very bleh: if you’re going to give me a batch of fries, I’d appreciate not getting a half bag of fresh fries and stale fries. The stale fries were chalky, limp and inedible. I threw out the ones that didn’t feel hot to the touch cause I just wanted no part of that. The burger is a bit pricey for what it is. Texas toast, garlic butter, veggies. It tasted great that’s for sure and quite filling. Not that greasy and freshly grilled with spicy jack cheese its great. But I can’t really justify that price for it… Owner is super friendly though. Fun to chat with while you order.

The Pommes frites at this place are amazing! You absolutely have to try the garlic mayo-I don’t even like mayonnaise and I ate all of it. The owner is super friendly too. Definitely check this place out next time you’re near UT and looking for some good, quick food.

Pommes Frites boasted more American items than I expected. Of course, I expected nothing more than Wienerschnitzel, waffles, and French fries. If you are hunkering for a burger, you might serve yourself well by giving this joint a shot. In my opinion, the French fries are where it is at, to use a term from the 90’s. Though pricier than most, the large $ 7 order yields perfect textural balance of fluffy interior and crunchy exterior. The fries also come out piping out, right from the oil. Thick-cut tubers appears hard to come by, in this town full of «frites and aioli» on menus, so PF is doing something unique. Nothing cutting edge stands out about this red mobile establishment, but with a simple menu, it is hard to really fudge things up. What I am saying is that PF won’t be on the Food Network anytime soon, but you can count on consistency and simplicity here.

Delicious pomme frites, hamburgers, and chicken sandwiches. I would definitely recommend this place.

This place is indeed A-OK! I wasn’t too sure what Belgian fries were, so I looked it up and now I can share the knowledge. Don’t judge me if I’m wrong though. Belgian fries are essentially thicker cut potatoes compared to French fries. So the outside is still crispy, but the inside would have a softer texture somewhat like a baked potato. If this sounds like something you would enjoy then come on by! I think the place has some pretty good fries, BUT it’s pretty expensive and I think it’s kind of ridiculous to charge $ 1 per sauce when the fries already costs so much. The sandwiches are pretty good too, but they’re not stand out sandwiches. Since you’re in the area, you might as well save a buck and go to Fricanos for a sandwich though. I haven’t had a chance to try the crepes but I have heard they’re really good. Overall this place is a pretty convenient place to get some food on your way out of or into West campus and they’re usually on the Hooked app for $ 1 off during lunch hours. I’ve also heard this place is open into the wee hours of the night so if you’re craving some hot and piping fries or have the munchies, you should definitely check this place out.

The owner was down to earth and very helpful with his suggestions. I ended up ordering the ½ pound burger and a small side of frites. Hands-down the best fries I’ve ever had! The food was definitely worth 5 stars but it was a bit too pricey for my taste. I’ll be back here again when I’m craving the fried goodness of the frites. Edit: This place is too good to get knocked off for price. You get what you pay for. 4 to 5 stars.

Here’s the thing; Ive been to the Belgian fry truck in NYC. It was great and I love the fact that this truck reminds me of my New York days without the New York pricing; but that’s not the unique and amazing thing that keeps me coming back to this truck over the past year. Here it is: ½ pound burger with thick cut applewood bacon, lettuce, red onion, cucumber(yes cucumber) and cheddar cheese on Texas Toast– small side of pomme frites(which is enormous btw) with a side of garlic mayo or sriracha mayo if Im feeling spicy. This is my meal of choice that I have had OVERANDOVER at Pomme Frites Ect… but even more importantly, its the people. Bobby is the owner of this special space and he makes every person who comes feel like he’s known them for years. His energy is contageous and he clearly loves the food he makes and the joy on peoples faces when they enjoy. (P.S.Keep in mind Ive also had the BLT, Sausage sandwich(piled high with sausage) and the crêpe with Nutella, bananas and chocolate AND the Pomme Frites with bacon and cheese with garlic Mayo on the side; loved them all!) Go. Eat. Enjoy.

Really good burger and fresh made fries. Quick bite and good to go. Typical food truck atmosphere, definitely not place to hang out, but I just stumbled upon this place near the campus, and it worth a try.

Crispy, piping hot fries. Got the small come and thought it was the perfect size for one. The garlic mayo dipping sauce… so good. Who ever said fries were meant for ketchup? However, the sauce is pretty heavy and I had a hard time finishing it. There’s definitely a limit to this indulgent mayo. Only complaint is the price. I paid over 5 dollars for this little snack. I could get a burger and fries for a little over that price. Still yummy and would recommend!

If you’ve had the ‘real deal’ in NYC, you have to at least give this truck some credit. The texture of the fries sent me back to 2nd avenue and for that I cannot complain. Please add pesto mayo to the sauces. PLEASE.

MANOHMAN is this place the bomb dot com or what?! I am not really a big fan of crepes(no offense, crepes), so I’m just going to dwell on their fries. OK this is the perfect place for those who love fries that are crispy and golden on the outside and puffy and carby on the inside. The guy let me try some of this special secret mushroom gravy on the side and mmm-mmm let me tell you this was the greatest homemade mushroom gravy I have ever tasted. Add sausage, and you can make a late-night second dinner out of this. This place opens until super late, so it wonderfully fulfills my french fry craving that typically hits me around 1AM each evening. I also love french fries and they are my favorite food, so maybe I am biased but yes, this place is great. Also for such an outstanding review, you would think I would give this place 5 stars but it is sort of pricey, and you can very well end up spending $ 10 on loaded fries. This may or may not be worth it depending on a) how much you want fried goodness and b) how inebriated you are as you are ordering french fries at 2am. (My experiences here have also all been sans alcohol so HOORAY I JUSTLOVEFRIES!!!)

I came here after a school day(since it is so conveniently located in West Campus) because I was really craving a grilled cheese sandwich(after watching food network earlier in the day). The service was friendly and the order was processed relatively quickly. The sandwich was grilled to perfection and the cheese on the inside was the nice gooey consistency that I always adore. I will definitely try some of their other menu items because it’s so close to where I live, as I’ve heard the fries and crepes are delicious as well.

This place has some of the greatest tasting fries ever! The Belgian fries are a must get and don’t forget to get the delicious garlic mayo sauce! I always pass by this food truck on the way to and from campus so it’s an easy stop along the way. And if you’re not in the mood for fries, they have some amazing sandwiches and crepes too :)

Came here and ordered a LARGE Pommes Frites of course. I was walking back to the garage after a trip to the Coop and was stopped by the smell of fried potatoes and had to get some fries. They came out fresh and hot with crispy outside and pillowy, fluffy innards. Fries were seasoned right on and paired well with the garlic aoili they suggested we get. However, I hate it when restaurants charge for each dipping sauce because it makes it prohibitive to try all the different ones. But at least the portion was definitely generous so that you can try a few if you’d like, and I’ll have to come back again to try the other sauces. The owners were really nice. They told us how they were dating in Brooklyn and their go-to date spot was Pomme Frites, which inspired their place here. They had their little girl hanging out and mom and dad just seemed really genuine and down to earth. Keep it up guys.

I am sitting here in front of Pommes Frites and to my dismay, at 3 in the am, this place disappointed my friends and I greatly. The fries were extremely salty. My grilled chicken burger was average. The chocolate crêpe with strawberries with bananas tasted like roti with chocolate. Huge disappointment. Overpriced as well. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend taking a few steps to the right for a decent pad Thai. If you happen to be in my situation, and nothing else is open, I recommend hunting and gathering instead. Not to mention for the price of a burger and fries, I could get 36 Jack in the box tacos and like 4 million ken’s donuts.

I have been a frite connoisseur since I stumbled across Pommes Frites at 2nd Ave. &7th Street in NYC, 1996. I have travelled Belgium and Holland eating nothing but frites for weeks so I could experience as many sauces as possible, and I check every place I travel to to see if there is anyone taking a stab at perfecting Belgian fries, so I was amazed at the serendipity of coming across this place with a fellow frite-o-phile behind the University Co-Op yesterday completely by chance. Proprietor Billy stayed good-natured as I quizzed him on his methods and ingredients before finally ordering a small cone with garlic mayo and a spicy red saus. The portion was good, enough for two to evaluate and enjoy a pretty hearty snack. I was seriously impressed by Billy’s commitment to his craft: he uses the right kind of clean fresh(peanut) oil at the right temps(Belgian fries are properly cooked twice at varying temperatures), he cuts the potatoes(quality Russets) to exactly the right size, makes the mayo base for some of the sauces from scratch(amazing) and he soaks the starch out of the potatoes overnight for optimal interaction with the oil. The goal of the perfect frite is to be golden and crisp on the outside while having the texture of freshly mashed potatoes on the inside – and Billy comes very close to nailing it. While I had a couple of friendly suggestions for him, this is so exciting to see in Austin food culture, as somebody finally brought the Belgian Frite experience to our town – and is doing it the right way!

I’m a french fry fanatic. It’s a serious addiction(and an unhealthy one at that). That being said, I can’t stop raving about this food truck. If you like thick cut fries, then this place is perfect for you. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, made fresh to order and served piping hot. My friend and I shared the medium fries with garlic mayo and the portion was huge. They have a good variety of different sauces, albeit a bit pricey. We were bummed about how far away the truck was, but they recently moved to the food court behind the co-op on campus. My very first Unilocal review — that’s how much I loved their fries. Check it out!
