Today I was poorly mistreated by an employee and I didn’t even dine there. There are mainly two employees that work there. One with glasses and one with the mustache and hat. The one with the hat told me not talk to his customers. I said hi to a Marine who was standing in line and that’s when the employee accosted me. I was a customer minding his own business who forgot their car keys at Oma’s Kitchen. This guy started talking like he knew me. I’ve had Nikkis Pizza once and that was years ago. I quit going because the same guy with the hat was rude and impolite to me on my next visit and the pizza wasn’t that great anyway. The pizza is generic, bland and a disgrace to the pizza family. That’s when I discovered Oma’s Kitchen and never went back. Since then, we never exchanged any type of conversation ever again. But today he took it upon himself to get my attention passive aggressively by telling me hi and using me for the customers amusement. This guy wanted to fight, he made threats and even changed out of his work clothes to meet me outside. I then called the police and he was never seen again. I’m a regular at the Dobie Mall and enjoy going to Oma’s Kitchen. I have to pass this dreaded place to get to Oma’s. These people have horrible attitudes and don’t take complaints lightly. They seem to have a «take it or leave it» mentality. Beware not to get beat up at Nikkis Pizza. Thank You Very Much.

Dee-lish. Nothing more to say. Well, I’ll say more, anyway. I had the calzone. They put it in the oven for about 5 minutes until it’s steaming hot and crunchy. Then they cut it open and drown it in tomato sauce. Take some of the dried pepper and shake it liberally all over. Use a knife a fork if necessary, but it’s funner to eat by hand, dipping the bread into the sauce.

this place is gross. The pizza had gobs of garlic from a jar all over it…

I love this guy… he remembers his customers and has a great attitude. It’s a great place to get a few quick slices of NY style pizza. Some of the best pizza around campus.

I like this little place. Every time I’m at the Dobie I get the combo that comes with 2 slices and a drink. It’s so cheap, and the pizza is actually pretty good.

Don’t get the wrong idea. The pizza is not amazing. But c’mon it’s pizza and this is New York Style pizza. Niki’s pizza looks like a piece of New York in the Dobie Food Court. The guy who i got my ‘za from was the nicest person I ever met. You can tell this guy genuinely wants to make you happy, and that he did. I got two slices, each with two toppings and a drink for $ 4.62. It’s like they haven’t changed their prices since the early 90s or something. I wouldn’t even say you get what you pay for, you get much much more. If you want a great pizza go to Home Slice, Austin Beer Garden, or Via 313, but expect your wallet to be much lighter afterwards. If you want the best deal in Austin come here.

Pretty mediocre pizza. This is not restaurant quality stuff at all. Didn’t try out the pasta, and I’m not sure I want to tbh.

I’m surprised this place has four stars. It’s just really gross pizza. Cheap, but gross. Like steal-your-soul-and-morals kind of gross. It’s obvious they just reheat the same old pie half the time. The service is ok, but I got hit on pretty blatantly… I don’t know. Go to Austin’s Pizza. You’ll pay more and you have to walk two blocks but I promise it’s worth it. I want my $ 5 back from Niki’s(soda was flat and one of the slices was literally inedible– plastic flavor is not my thing).

I would give a zero star. Very bad service. I do not know the name of one pizza and the man asked me rudely«Is this the first time you eat pizza?». Is this how you serve your customer???

Good New York style pizza for unbeatable price. $ 5(tax included) gets you two large slices and a drink. Truly is one of the better deals in town. The owner is really nice and will make sure your a happy customer.

Great pizza. Cheap, fast, reminds me a bit of my trip to New Jersey. One thing… when it gets busy, don’t try and go back to get a different topping. If he misheard you, just take the cheese. Get the pepperoni next time. He’s nice once. My situation: «I asked for pepperoni…» *attends other customers* «Sir, I wanted pepperoni.» «No. You cheese.» «Okay, I’m cheese.» I pick my battles. 2 slices and a drink for $ 5 flat – I’ll be cheese.

This is just like any other pizza place inside a mall, hence Dobie MALL, and yes, they are going to reheat their pizzas. So give it a rest. Even though they do the reheating thing, their pizzas are remarkably good. Actually, I’m only speaking for the meaty pizzas since I haven’t tried anything else. They might season and make their own meats in house. I don’t know, but it’s always delicious. Come here for hangovers. You’ll thank me later.

The key is to get a pizza fresh out of the oven. If you do that, you pretty much get a pizza like you would find up north. If it’s one of the reheated slices, well, it’s pretty much like what you get in Texas. Friendliest staff you will ever find. Great folks, just really nice and will make even the crappiest of days seem like no big deal. Can’t speak for the rest of the food, since all I get there is pizza, but their Coke and other soda’s are always full octane, and not flat. Did I mention the people who work there are cool

Mediocre pizza, terrible alfredo(with no sauce?), and better immediate competition. Really no reason to eat here, no idea how it could have 3, nonetheless 4 stars. Within Dobie Mall I would recommend Oishi Sushi, Verts, Burrito Factory, and even Subway over this place.

2 slices of pizza and a coke for 5 dollars even is quite the deal. If your low on cash and craving pizza Its definatly worth checking out. But no need to make a special trip or anything. I think the fountain drinks should come with at least one free refill when your paying 5 dollars for a meal. Next time I will be sure to ask for less ice. Stay away from anything on the menue with Hamburger. The hamburger topping at this place just does not taste well.

I promised that I’d give Niki’s another visit after my last experience didn’t match up to other reviews. Today’s pizza was much closer to the great pizza slice that I was expecting. The pepperoni and mushroom pizza was darned near perfect, although the cheese slice still seemed like it could use just a smidgen more sauce. Combine this with great pricing and friendly folks behind the counter and I’ll be back more often.

Same basic new york style slice day in and day out for as long as I’ve lived in Austin(about 14 years now). No frills. I like my slice extra crispy. If you are a true blue-collar pizza fan this will hit the spot. Slice is like 2.50 and one is pretty dang filling. Highly recommended.

You have to sympathize with Dobie Mall. This is clearly a place that had its heyday a decade ago. I can imagine in the 90s, this was a cool place to be, with its two story escalator and state of the art food court. But nowadays, I can’t say I can think of many positive words to describe the locale. As a matter of fact, probably the only reason I visit there anymore is to grab a quick lunch from Niki’s. I’m a big fan of Brooklyn style pizza, and Niki’s makes up what it lacks in style with authenticity and affordability. The toppings are hit or miss, and the 50 cent refills are annoying, but there really aren’t any better pizza options near campus. I usually get the two slices and a drink for 4.50 deal. The location sucks, but hey, you can’t have everything.

The man that usually works here is the nicest. Niki usually doesn’t pop in at this location but probably because he doesn’t need to. Everything here is good especially the pizza and the calzones. The price is cheaper than most places and the quality food is higher. For sure a good deal. Only problem is that this one is located in the domain. haha

I think Niki’s Pizza was my main food group in college. For $ 5, you got a slice of pizza, a salad, and a drink — and it was a sizeable amount of food. The nice thing was that you usually got your order with a nice smile and«How’s your day?» — something that is definitely out of the ordinary for Dobie Mall. I ran into Niki at his new location up north near Parmer/I-35 recently and he remembered me from my dorm days! He even asked why all my other usual lunch buddies weren’t with me, haha. The pizza, pasta, and salad are pretty average. I always thought the garlic knots were delicious. Overall, the value is downright awesome, and the service is superb — and that’s what keeps me going back whenever I’m near campus and hungry!
