What an experience! This is truly a great place to grab your friends, sing your faces off, BRINGYOUROWNBOOZE, and get lost in the night. The staff is friendly, and the quality of the music is great! You have to experience this!

Came here one night when Austin Karaōke was full and had a GREAT time! It is very similar to Austin Karaōke, but seems a little more spacious. It was not very crowded at all, and we were able to get a room very easily. I think the song selection might have been even better than AK.

I host at least part of all my major parties at New Seoul Karaōke Studio and this place NEVER disappoints. People are instantly taken aback by its somewhat seedy location and appearance, but once you’ve had a couple drinks and you’ve got that tambourine in your hand, everything is right with the world. There are no rules here. This place is like Vegas: what happens here, stays here. The doors lock from the inside and outside. This would be an excellent place to host a sing-along Fight Club. They have an amazing collection of new and old songs, and somehow all of the songs you need to sing when you are wicked drunk. I Will Always Love You followed by Purple Rain followed by Chasing Waterfalls followed by the newest thing by Katy Perry that you didn’t even know you knew all the lyrics to. Let your friends chime in for the breakdown. Dance on a table. Bring a cake. And what do we say to the God of Death? Not today.

ive had frightening times here, and that is good. cause when you can dance on the edge of insanity with a microphone singing rascal flatts then the safe is less of a concern. i finally got to try some food and i was impressed with how good it was, then again i had some low expectations. there is something charming about this place. its like the cute girl that holds a knife to your soft belly, and your not sure if she is defensive or aggressive just something about it. but things tend to make more sense the more you drink, so booze is a must. BYOB! hands down better than austin karaōke. when you dance with the devil make sure he knows he can sing ABBA to.

I’m a seasoned Korean-style karaōke singer(if you can call it singing), and I have been to pretty much every Korean-style karaōke place in town. New Seoul is, by far, my favorite. Perhaps it’s the grungy feel(although they’ve invested in some renovations) combined with their BYOB and food policy. Most other places don’t allow food. Plus, the videos that play in the background of your songs are priceless. I’ll never forget when some of my friends sang«Smells Like Teen Spirit» and the video featured a girl playing with her labrador retriever puppy. One thing to keep in mind — they have a $ 10 minimum on credit cards and the billing system is a little wonky. I believe it’s $ 20 an hour for 6 people, plus $ 5 for every extra person per hour. If your friends leave early, you could end up with a high bill, so make sure you have good friends who pay their share!

Sing a song//in a key that’s wrong//escaPe to the hall If you want cool down//inaccurate scores win a fake crown//Asians in the back dancing round and round//don’t correspond to the words or the sound/: b y o b//possible set ups served//drive past Lamar an Austin karoke//no upsells at new soul I’m not joking. One star deduction because its Kinda hard tO find

Old Management– 5 stars, very friendly, remembered frequent visitors, nice to hold a conversation with, updated books with a good frequency. New Management– very faulty. 2 stars. New Seoul used to be my favorite place to go to karaōke, but that was just because of the old management/employees. The new management seems like a bunch of xenophobic koreans that don’t give off the friendly vibe that the old employees gave off. They also don’t seem to understand the concept of a tab. I ordered soju for my room and told them I’m paying for it separately from the room, at the end of the night it turned out that he just lumped it in with the entire room’s tab. The new guys also don’t seem to understand that sometimes drunk people walk into the wrong room. We did that once and they threatened to kick us out if we did it again. At the end of that night a couple of the guys were a bit nicer once they heard us singing in Japanese and figured out we weren’t a bunch of stupid drunk white guys. My recommendation is still leaning towards going somewhere else for karaōke…

Yes, it’s an older place that doesn’t have the shine of some of the newer karaōke spots, but the guys behind the desk are some of the NICEST folks I’ve met! I will definitely be going back. PROS: 1. Good selection of English songs, current pop hits in the back of the catalog are harder to find, but they’re there 2. Clean bathrooms! 3. Cheap — $ 20/hr for up to 6 people. Only $ 5 per person more after that. 4. BYOB. 5. Very accommodating and nice folks work there.(We had a mic problem, he took care of it cheerfully and promptly) CONS: 1. It’s a little chilly in there, so bring your coat. 2. There’s not much parking.

I came here with two other friends when we couldn’t get a reservation to Austin Karaōke but this place was equally great. It was 20/per hour. The hallways were similar to those creepy hospital hallways but it was fine. The room was small and after a while it can get a little hot. The Korean remote was difficult to navigate and we couldn’t seem to figure out how to make it so they would play songs one right after another. The English song selection was great, they had pretty modern songs but you had to look carefully for them in the Korean/Japanese song sections. Update: Came back here with a larger group of friends and I can say that the bigger rooms are a lot better. The song list was pretty much the same and still hasn’t been updated really but they had The Lonely Island and most of the Lady Gaga songs. They were lacking in some of the older songs like 90’s or 80’s but still we weren’t lacking in finding songs to sing.

My go-to karaōke spot in Austin. For those that are too embarrassed to stand in front of a room full of strangers will enjoy Korean-style private karaōke rooms. They have rooms sized to accommodate from just you and a date to a party of 20+. Be sure to call ahead if you want to reserve the big room! Yes, the song selection is mostly Korean but then again, it’s Korean karaōke. Despite that, the English song selection is pretty good — was able to find almost every English song we wanted to sing. Staff is super friendly and with a ring of a button located in your room, someone will show up to take your order or answer questions. This is a favorite«after 6th st closes» spot for me because they stay open late and serve Korean junk food(cup ramen!) to satiate those late night munchies. :)

I too went here for Candace S.‘s birthday bash and I have to say that I had a great time! Although the room was small and it did get hot, everyone was able to find a song to sing. We danced and made fools of ourselves which is always great fun! I made use of the tambourines that’s for sure! :) If there is a next time I think we will try to get a bigger room!

I went here for Candace S.‘s birthday party and we had a pretty good time! The room we were in was fairly small. And had mirrors on 3 walls and a table in the middle and colored, swirling lights on the ceiling. I… was reminded of other business establishments with this set-up ifyouknowwhatImean. The selection of songs was pretty small, but we were all able to find something to sing. There are two microphones, so yay and it’s BYOB, so double yay. The room did get hot. Like, super hot. And when I got home that night, and took off my top, I caught of whiff of something. I sniffed the back of my shirt… cigarette smoke and something foul… and it was sticky. Yeah, I felt just like I’d left one of those OTHER business establishments… ifyouknowwhatImean.

I wanted to do something different for my birthday so I decided to book a room for some karaōke! After dinner at Chez-Zee, me and 10 of my friends drove over to New Seoul Karaōke! I was quoted $ 40/hr for a room for 10 people(we actually had 11… it worked) and we were there for 3 hours. We found that after a while, the room got hot, but that didnt stop us from singing! The rooms had tamborines which were fun and 5 or so binders of songs so we could all browse – though one of the binders must have had something spilled on it previously because the pages were sticky and an awful smell lingered. They had a decent selection of English songs… the hallway actually has codes for more current songs which we didnt realize until we were paying so that’s something to note for next time. Even though this place might look a bit shady from the outside, dont be scared! Come in and sing!

Ladies, do you remember the unabashed fun you used to have at your middle school slumber parties, dancing around with hairbrushes and singing 80’s tunes? Well I was reminded of that kind of innocent fun at New Seoul karaōke. However, at NSK the fun is bumped up adult style. It’s BYOB, you rent the room for $ 20 an hour, and you can sing all night long. I don’t think this place closes. This is a wonderful place to have unique and relatively affordable, fun evening! So grab your hairbrush, turn on the 80’s radio station and start practicing now!

This is the best place to sing karaōke in Austin. The staff is so accomodating. My friend cut her knee jumping around like a fool, which we are apt to do there, and they took such care bandaging her wound and comped us the room for the evening. It’s BYOB, and if you look in the back of the book, you can find some more current songs mixed in with the non-english ones. They have a suprising amount of Muse and Radiohead songs, which are always fun to sing when you are trashed. SHHH, here is a tip on the down low. You can request a «special» room, and instead of parrots riding tricycles, you get booby videos instead. There is nothing like singing«Angel» by Aerosmith with scantily clad ladies behind you to make you feel like a true badass. ;)

$ 20 per hour for their small VIP room. You can have 10 friends in one room for your Karaōke night. Drinks have all reasonable prices. $ 1 for bottled water. Song lists are not very new for Chinese songs. For American songs, you can get as new as «my humps».

This place was interesting to say the least… The room we were in had a bed, blankets, and reading glasses. Is someone living here? Maybe… The song selection was kind of lame and all over the place. You could choose to sing Radiohead’s «Exit Music For a Film» but not Prince«When Doves Cry». Strange. The video’s that play during the song are the best. During my rendition of «Separate Ways» there were pictures of cows. I couldn’t go on… I was laughing to hard. This could be considered a good AND bad thing. I’m rating this place 4 stars because the Unilocal party made it so much fun… but I could easily see this place(if you were with the wrong crowd) being a total bust.

What can you say about a place with a video of go-carts, motorcycle races, family tropical holidays, European vacations and underwater footage shown behind friends singing their guts out for you? What? You want a mattress in the room? You got it. Need some reading glasses while you’re laying down? Check. The little private karaōke rooms off the main hallway were really creepy. That’s what I thought until throngs of Asian twentysomethings poured in and used them for singing and drinking. Who’s creepy now? Guilty as charged. Dammit if I can’t wait to go back. New Seoul Karaōke, I’m Seoul-ed on you!
