Lunch specials are amazingly priced! Their tofu soup is also the best I’ve tried in Austin so far

Any time I see a tiny restaurant tucked inconspicuously into the corner of a strip mall I’m intrigued. These places are almost always gems, and my instincts were dead on this time. I played it pretty safe and got the bulgogi. Fantastic. Sides were great, and I had plenty to take home. This is completely subjective, but I think if word got out about MoMo, there’d be Franklin sized lines to get in. It’s great. I’m making it a weekly thing.

It is the one of best Korean food I find in NW Austin. Quiet, quick service, fresh food and the best tender tofu in the Soondubu.

Going to check this place out. Sticking with one of my hands down face at any Korean restaurant: or in other words spicy sweet pork goodness. Will let you guys know how it turns out. Legit and affordable!

Consistently great Korean food. Bulgogi is probably the best in town. Bibimbop is also quite tasty. Side dishes are always refilled and the kimchi is just right. Highly recommend it.

Went for lunch over the weekend and I have to say, it is one of the worst dining experiences that I have had in a while. Pros: Kimchi was amazing. Hot stone bowl was tasty — Their hot sauce is also great. Cons: — Ordered hot tea, came out cold. Ask for another pot and I think it was microwaved. Still not hot. — Ordered sushi appetizer, it came out after my dinner. — Wife ordered sushi combo, and the menu listed that it came with miso soup and salad. We never received the soup or salad and when we asked, we were told that they stopped serving it. Staff told me that its not their job to update menu. It would’ve been niced if we were informed of the change when we ordered… — Fish tasted like it was frozen and not thawed properly. — Momo Sushi roll(part of sushi combo) barely had any fish in it. I was hoping this place would be amazing as I am looking for a good Korean restaurant.

My favorite Korean restaurant in Austin. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is nice; it’s never too loud. I love the bulkogi and the sides that come with it are also great. Defiantly a hidden gem in north Austin!

I’ve been here twice in the last month and both times I was treated to an awesome experience. The first time, I stopped in for dinner and gave the pork bulgogi a try and had it made extra spicy which was very delicious. The woman who took my order was very friendly and gave some great suggestions for other dishes I should try later on. On my second visit, I had brought a friend who had never tried Korean food during lunch and surprisingly, it wasnt too busy. We went with something basic, beef bulgogi, in hopes that my friend would enjoy something simple to which she was very pleased with the dish. It was full of flavor and they give you sizable portions too. The same server I had on my first visit remembered me and welcomed my friend which was very nice. Friendly staff, great, service, delicious food = a regular customer.

I had the seafood soon du bu and it was good real good. Spicy and flavorful. Lovely textures. The owner I believe came and checked on us she was very kind. Service was a tad slow, but it’s ok because the food is really fun!

This place is fantastic. I have driven past it many a times but sure glad we finally made it in. Very reasonable priced. We had the bugolgi and la gagli which were both fantastic. Melissa, our waitress was very friendly helpful and informative. Which came in handy since we are not overly familiar with all the foods. Will def be back

Overall good experience. Half price sake on Tuesdays. We had the galbi and beef bulgogi. The galbi had great flavor. The bulgogi wasn’t the best I’ve had in Austin but was good.

I came here for the lunch special! a bit hard to find in a shopping center tucked away in the corner. i got the sushi lunch comb c with rainbow roll. also they do 5% off if you check in with Unilocal and 5% off if you post a review. however the service was poor, the waitress were very frazzeled with the lunch rush THEIMPORTANTPARTTHO… the quality of fish the salmon was the only thing that was great, all other fish was just okay, not that fresh the Korean food my friends ordered looked much better so i think this is more of a Korean BBQ place then sushi place … if youre a sushi snob like me lol

This is our second time here and my second review. We love the beef and pork bulgogi, noodles, and kimbop. It’s the best Korean food I’ve eaten, ever.

When we first got there, I was a little hesitant and there weren’t that many people inside but that was because we were eating an early dinner compared to everyone else. Ha! What a great home cooking Korean restaurant. Our waitress was super sweet and extra happy. Service was great. The ban chan was fresh and everything was tasty. Looking forward to going back to try more dishes. We had the japchae to substitute for the rice to try to stick to our paleo diet. Everything was well made and seasoned just right.

Another excellent meal at Momo’s! The side items for the bibimbab and bulgogi are excellent, especially the sweet potatoes, the broccoli and the pickled cucumber. Service is always friendly. A very solid Korean food. Not too sure about sushi as I’ve never tried it here. Perhaps better to stick with their specialty food.

I get it — good Korean food is terribly hard to find in Austin. I know of a few places that serve decent Korean food but this was definitely not one of them. I came in wanting to like the food. The décor was nice, the service was nice, the music was nice — but the food was not. We came in and had a couple of bento boxes for lunch(Spicy BBQ Pork and Chicken Teriyaki). The Spicy Pork was okay on a very lenient scale but even that is stretching it. Good Spicy Pork(daeji bulgogi) is supposed to have a good consistent sauce that it is marinated in but this place seemed to have a very sloppy sauce that tasted just like a bunch of Red Pepper paste(gochujang)added to hide the taste. A good Spicy BBQ Pork shouldn’t have that flavor of the red pepper paste so obviously overpowering the entire dish as it should be blended into the sauce as any good sauce should be. Now, the Chicken Teriyaki was absolutely embarrassing. It tasted like they got the medallions of chicken straight from a bag full of flash frozen chicken and the teriyaki sauce was almost unidentifiable. It was barely even on the chicken and was not marinated or glazed, it was just a tiny drizzle on a few flash frozen thin slices of chicken. But the sauce itself was not nearly good enough for me to even feel inclined to ask them for more on the side. The dumplings were good and they were the highlight of my bento box unfortunately. Out of the four pieces of sushi we tried, only one piece was of a decent quality. The Momo Roll was forgettable. The California Roll was okay and because of its simplicity(avocado, cucumber, imitation crab), I thought it was also one of the better sides. But as a lunch special for two people, I expected more if I was going to spend $ 20 on a lunch«special». The value was not there, the quality and taste was not there. The only redeeming things about the place was everything but the food. Of all the Korean restaurants I’ve dined at within the Austin limits, this one fared among the bottom of my list.

Words are not enough! Wow, so good. Best friend is Korean and grew up on Korean good. He lives in LA now and when I visit, he takes me to many Korean restaurants. I have to say this one is right there at the best I have been too! Another great think is the food is NOT salty! They do not need to use salt to hide the flavor. Everything was fresh. The Kimchi was amazing, the Chop Chae was so good too! Thank you Momo, please don’t change a thing

Loved it. My chicken Bulgogi bento box for lunch rocked it! As soon as I walked in and saw the sushi chef behind the counter dressed in traditional garb, I knew I’d like this place. And I was right. I really enjoyed the presentation, wait staff and of course the food itself. I’ll be back.

Sandwiched between two good, bustling Chinese restaurants sits the lonely Momo’s. I am not sure if somehow I went on a bad night, but judging from the lack of customers, I think due to low demand, the quality is poor. The restaurant is very clean and too quiet. The waitress we had was friendly, but unskilled. We had to ask for simple things, like plates for sharing, napkins, etc. I ordered their specialty, the soondubu jiggae. It was passable, but lack the depth and complexity of others I’ve eaten. One main flaw was that the egg in the dish tasted like it’s been cooking in the broth. Usually, you get an raw egg on top and mix it into the soup. The side dishes were simple, only five consisting of the cheapest stuff like potatoes, bean sprouts, squash and kimchi. It tasted fine. If I didn’t eat anything else, I would have rated this three stars for being the only Korean restaurant nearby. The sushi combo for about $ 30 was the worst sushi in memory. When our sushi arrive, the nigiri pieces were on the small size, which I prefer over the Texas sized pieces. The combo consisted on 2 rolls and 10 pieces of nigiri. When asked what type of fish these were, the waitress just smiles and says she doesn’t know. At this point, I’m a bit annoyed but let it go because maybe it’s a language barrier. My boys love sushi and we eat sushi at various price points regularly. When they only ate a couple of pieces of nigiri and the spider roll and said they were full– 2 boys who eat their weight worth of sushi every time, made me suspicious. I tasted a couple of the pieces and they were awful. Not completely spoiled, but not good enough to eat raw. I think with the lack of customers, the fish is too old and they are too cheap to throw it away. Never again. Not worth the cash or calories.
