I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to review my homestead. I have lived here in the complex for nearly 6 years… 5 apartments later I can honestly say I may never leave. This apartment complex is the best I’ve ever lived in. It is modestly priced, very well kept up, close to every major highway and super friendly. I’ve had different living situations in each apartment I’ve had here and every layout was perfect. Maintenance is the best in the biz. These guys will be out the same day to fix whatever issue you may have. I’ve never trusted a staff more. Overall this place is as good as it gets. Brittany and Margaret have been here with me since day one and will be friends for life! Thanks Mackenzie Pointe for everything!

For the price, Mackenzie Pointe can’t be beat– the complex is close to the highway, and only a 10 – 15 minute drive to downtown. It’s also gated and has a great pool area. But the best part of Mackenzie Pointe(and what motivated me to write this review) is the office staff– they are all incredibly friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to make sure residents are happy with the community. Wendi and Margaret even offered to put packages inside my apartment when I was gone for several weeks and my house sitter couldn’t stop by the office during business hours. As the other reviewer said, Mackenzie Pointe does show some of the wear and of an older complex. However, the office staff responds to maintenance requests immediately, and I have never had any major maintenance or plumbing issues. They also spray regularly for pests and periodically change the air filters, which is great. My only minor complaint is that the walls are a bit thin, and you can often hear people talking outside or loud music from another apartment. As a law student, living in a quiet complex was really important to me, and so far I have had great luck with neighbors at Mackenzie Pointe. And having a staff that responds quickly to maintenance and other concerns is one less thing that I have to worry about. I’ll be moving back to California at the end of the school year, but I would definitely recommend Mackenzie Pointe to anyone looking for a convenient, affordable, and nice(but not fancy) place to live in Austin.

When I first moved to Austin, it happened in a flash. I was living in Oklahoma City, came down for a job interview, got a call the next day, and needed to start within a week. With barely any knowledge of the city and a start date looming over me, I had to act fast. I found MacKenzie Pointe on an apartment ratings site. It had decent feedback and was within the price range I needed. When I called, the office staff was very helpful and accommodating. They processed all of my paperwork with lightning speed to help me get settled as fast as possible. That high level of service never wavered. I have never lived in an apartment complex with management that was so genuine, caring, and helpful. When I had a TV delivered, one of the girls in the office volunteered to help me carry it back to my apartment. When my dishwasher stopped working, maintenance came within ten minutes, and then apologized for the wait. Of course, there are inevitable issues that come with living in an older complex. Pipes may leak, plumbing issues may come up, etc. Sometimes only half of the washers and dryers worked… but where doesn’t that happen? In my case, the bugs were what I couldn’t stand. I often called for pest control, which always responded immediately. I also really liked the layout of my apartment. I work from home and typically use the dining area as my workspace. The space I had was perfect: A spacious area without distractions, and a big sliding glass window on one wall. I had a ridiculous amount of space for the price I paid. The layout was really unique, too, and I especially loved the amount of natural light that came in from all the windows. Some of the apartments here even have wraparound balconies. Man, writing about this place kind of makes me miss it. Ultimately, I moved out for personal reasons, i.e. I wanted a shorter commute to downtown and the lake. MacKenzie Pointe is right next to the highway, which is convenient but is a pain in the tush if you need to get anywhere during rush hour.
