I feel very 50⁄50 about this place. Let’s start with the items I have tried. I’ve ordered crawfish, oysters, fries, and phở here. The crawfish here is not good. I was really hoping that it would be because I have yet to find a good crawfish spot in Austin. Nothing really compares to Dallas and Houston! It’s not that they have bland flavors or anything, it’s because most of their crawfish have no meat, over cooked, and more than half of the 3 lbs I ordered had ‘dead’ crawfish(as in they were dead beforehand and added to the pot). I suggest the business owners switch providers. The only thing that saved them for me was their unique«Hot & Sour» crawfish seasoning that was worth a try. Next, the oysters are a must have. It is the only reason why I come back. The oyster itself is not big and it can run pretty small which is disappointing. However, it’s the different options of flavors that make the oysters DELICIOUS! The toppings/flavors they serve here is so unique and unlike any I’ve tried before(that says a lot considering the fact I work at a Crawfish & Oyster Bar). I highly recommend the Japanese Ponzu and Korean Kimchi flavors! Traditional oysters(lemon/lime, cocktail sauce, and horseradish) are good but these flavors just makes you reevaluate everything you think you know about eating raw oysters. Moving on from the amazing oysters, the seasoned fries are just good for snacking nothing good/bad to say about it. Lastly, I ordered the Crawfish Phở twice(for different friends to try). It’s what you would expect at a crawfish place, not bad but not good. The employees here are sweet but most definitely need to be trained more. I’ve been to LA Crawfish a total of 3 times and I knew the menu better than the staff did. Although friendly, the owners/older staff need to train their workers to really learn the menu! To recap: Try their amazing oyster flavors, crawfish was disappointing however their Hot & Sour seasoning is worth a try. LA Crawfish wins for having unique flavors!

The crawfish was really good, and I particularly liked the seasoning. The shrimp was also tasty. Only issue was that the menu is a bit confusing. it would help to offer dinner meals rather than most everything being by the pound. I do think it’s pretty cool they offer phở and crawfish and crawfish phở. I haven’t seen that before.

Disappointed. Served shell-on fried shrimp in a po boy, as in ‘here is a sandwich full of fried shrimp and friend shrimp shells, and ps the shrimp haven’t been deveined. have fun picking the shards of shell and strands of gritty black shrimp vein out of your mouth while keeping it classy’. Asked the front counter people about this and they just shrugged their shoulders and said that’s how they serve it. Ok. That’s not how anyone wants to eat it, but you go on with your bad self.

We came in the restaurant at 11:10 and they said they were open for lunch. The person greeting us made it clear that they were not happy to see us and then told us to come back when the manager was back in 20 minutes. I have never been treated so poorly entering a place to eat. If they don’t want customers I will certainly deny them this one.

Gross! Never coming back. I had to give this place a one star because I like the condiment station. Other than that, I would never come back. It wasn’t good and the service wasn’t all that great. Some people said this place was good and many said negative so I had to try it for myself. Didn’t hurt to try and won’t come back. The crawfish wasn’t good and the rice was not good either. Even the restroom was nasty. My husband and I both went home with a painful stomach ache.

I have a lot of mixed emotions about my experience here today. I placed my order through Grubhub and ordered 3 Shrimp boil meals with corn, potatoes and sausage. According to my Order I ordered 3 individual Shrimp boil meals with 3 corns, 3 potatoes, and 3 sausage and 1 order of desert/ Imagine my surprise when the delivery guy comes to the door and only has 1 togo box. I explained him my order and he said yes it all there. and I repeated back the order and he said yes all there. There was clearly a language barrier. So I called the restaurant and the woman that answered the phone let me tell her the situation. She proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t their fault it was GRUBHUB fault. I explained to her if it was Grub HUB fault why was I charged for 3 extra corn, 3 potatoes and 3 sausage and she said it wasn’t their fault and she couldn’t help me. I am sorry but for $ 57.00 plus for a lunch for 3 I felt as if she could of been more apologetic and offered me a credit on the shorted food instead of telling me it wasn’t their fault. On to the actual food taste the spice good flavor. The Shrimp seemed to be partially over boiled some pieces were great and some pieces were just mushy. The really nice thing was the Shrimp were very nice size. I really want to give this place a chance because I really like Shrimp boil and I am hoping that if I come in and try this at the location instead of delivery. It maybe be better to be fresh and piping hot and less time to set! I will revise this my review after my second visit.

This place is pretty good! I never thought crawfish could taste so good. I’m not a fan of the shelled crawfish so this place is a good introduction to people who don’t like to get their hands messy with crawfish. Get the Crawfish Po’boy! A Po’boy is a subroll, well… There’s some historical reason for the name but I’m no Po’boy connoisseur so I won’t get into those details. Anyways, I found the service to be good, a lot of TVs at this place so always something to watch. Seemed business was a little slow when I got in but then again most people are in traffic at this time. Wait time was less than 6 min I believe. I think the owners are either Vietnamese or Korean because they have Phở and Kimchi on the menu, that’s pretty cool. I was having a bad day and the food really hit the spot so they get 5 stars from me. Call it luck or call it good food, not sure why some people are dogging on this place, I think it has potential and tell me a place that isn’t slow during lunchtime lol, come back when it’s not lunchtime and you won’t have a problem: P

Just stumbled on this neighborhood joint. The place is huge and was not busy. We came around 3:30pm.I had a couple of menu questions and the cashier seemed very unhappy to have to answer any questions. Not welcoming or friendly. We braved through debbie downer and had an oyster poboy. Bread was soggie and it came with coleslaw and frenchfries on the poboy. I prefer lettuce and tomato classic style. I also like a little crunch in the bread. The wings where great .We got 6 Cajun style. We ordered a bowl of gumbo .The gumbo had about 2 micro shrimp and a pinkie sized crab leg. The gumbo had little else in it .Soo watered down and bland !!! Well looks like I won’t be back.

We’ve been here twice and every time we go, I am always impressed at how well the food comes out. Today we had a pound of shrimp, sweet potato fries and 6 chicken wings, which were really good. I loved how they seasoned the wings, seasoned evenly all over the wing and they weren’t greasy at all but the chicken was so juicy and with the seasoning so flavorful. We got the spicy lemon pepper.

The Good: : lots of parking : it’s clean inside : lots of seating : front checkout people are very friendly The Bad: : the food is just bland. :\ i suspect they have a lot of frozen pre-cooked seafood that they just toss in quickly into a boiling pot of spiced broth/water. seafood tastes really good when you boil it fresh and let it soak and sit in the spicy broth/water for 15 to 20 minutes. it’s usually only bland when you flash boil it. : no tobasco sauce… are you serious? wha? : no crab tools aka no cracking tools, no small forked tools to help pull meat out of small spaces, no hammers, nothing. we asked for them and the guy wanted to hand us a pair of office scissors. wha? seriously? unhygienic much? The Ugly: : none Would I go back? Not for a while. They need to get their shit together before I’m ready to drop big $$$ on their food again. I was so excited by the promise of this place coming to Austin since the Houston location is so delicious. Alas… nothing but disappointment. This place is OUT.

If you’re not a spicy lover than I suggest this place isn’t for you unless you want to walk out w/your butthole burning. I, being the Sriracha fan that I am, love this place & most certainly want to try everything on the menu. How this place got a 3 star rating is beyond me. I feel like they must be having bad days because I apparently went on a good day. If this place were in the middle of Los Angeles it’d be the equivalent of The Boiling Crab. I think the Vietnamese/Cajun concept is pretty awesome. Not only is the food extra yummy, but getting to bring your own alcohol bevies(byob) is a plus. The place is insanely clean, I know this because I literally seen 2 ladies on their hands & knees scrubbing the floors(cray). The service is AMAZING! I’m a stickler when it comes to good customer service. I wish I knew the cashiers name because I’d give her a shout on how helpful she was. She clearly knew we were LA Crawfish virgins because she started making helpful suggestions when it came to the menu. Either she’s just nice or the girl really knows how to up a sale… maybe both? Anyway, my bf & I got a pound of the crab legs spiced in Cajun seasoning, a pound of crawfish spiced in garlic seasoning, & the garlic noodles(which btw, was far from being stingy on the seafood & sausage), & the crawfish po’boy.

Ordered the basil wings, crawfish phở, Cajun style crawfish, and garlic butter shrimp. Wanted oysters but they were out. Very different concept, BYOB, order at the front, and clean up your own table after. The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. The crawfish phở was too oily and Cajun crawfish was lacking in flavor. My favorite out of what we ordered was the Garlic Butter Shrimp Medium Spice. This place has potential once they get organized as they are still very new.

Still great food. Had a huge blue crab Cajun style and the 5 spice swings. Wings were cooked to perfection and this is a great dry rub for those that don’t enjoy the mess. Crab was huge and on point. But they need more utensils for the crab. Still byob

I still don’t understand how places like this charge more for frozen crawfish from Asia than for Louisiana crawfish when they are in season. It’s absurd. And in case anybody is wondering about the health benefits from eating crawfish from Asia, read this
That’s right. Pig feces. Think about that next time you order crawfish out of season, because they are sure to come from Asia.

The food took forever. And all of it was in its shell with the legs and eyes and everything it was nasty. And it was really expensive too. I all in all thought it was terrible. If they lowered the prices to $ 5 a pound instead of $ 10 maybe it would be worth it. But whole crawfish is nasty, and to much work. And the food took like 15 minutes to come out. Do NOT go here.

Ok I had the one from Houston and i have been craving the hot and sour crawfish flavor. Just sat down and eat 5minutes ago, the crawfish is definitely frozen and maybe it’s not the season, but the flavor is off and is definitely different It’s probably just the grand opening and maybe the chef just trying to get used to the layout of kitchen or I do not know Will try again in couple of months to see if it’s improves, I bought I lbs and do not even finished it So far crawfish shack USB better in my book

This place is kind of a strange place. You can get«cajun» food, but you can also get vietnamese«phở» here, as well. Not sure why they chose that combo… Anyways, the menu is a bit confusing, and not exactly low price. Cashier was friendly, but the whole ordering process seemed to take way too long. Speaking of delays, I am afraid that this place will not survive, due in large part to their extremely slow service. We easily blew through our lunch hour during our stay here. Food took too long to come out. Cashier came by and said she would bring us some dessert because of our wait… food finally came, but no dessert. The ONLY reason I rated them 2 stars was because the food actually tasted pretty good. I hope they clean up their issues, as this place has some promise. However, I probably won’t be back any time soon.

This place is delicious! They recently opened so not too many people know about it yet. The restaurant is huge with some big tables so it would be great for groups, as long as you’re all close enough friends to watched each other eat with your hands.(Peel and eat seafood? Let’s just say it gets messy.) The boiled seafood is great, the Cajun boil is my favorite. They’ve got tons of condiments including tartar sauce and sriracha but I just dip it back in the boil. We added some corn and potatoes. They get super squishy which I don’t like but other people did in our group did. The wings are a good size and much cheaper than other places. We also tried the cajun curry. It’s spicy and sweet with a strong coconut flavor. It’s also BYOB and they have some good deals on Wednesdays. I’m pretty sure I’m going to become a regular here. There’s still a bunch of the menu left to try like more wing flavors, crawfish phở, and po-boys. Tip: Atleast for now, they’re giving 10% off for checking in via a social network like Unilocal or Facebook.

I’m from Houston so I love that they opened one in Austin. It’s run by the sweetest Chinese family that literally catered to our every need. We wanted to watch the presidential debates so they turned off the restaurant music and changed the channels of the TV for us. We walked in at 8:45pm because we thought they closed at 10pm. They actually close at 9pm and since we didn’t want to be «those» people we wanted to order our food to go, but they ushered us into staying with smiles on their faces. With four people we got the curry, the crawfish phở, crawfish, blue crabs, chicken wings, and cheese stuffed rolls. The five spice basil chicken wings are the best wings I’ve ever had in my entire life. Hands down. No contest. The curry was absolutely amazing and sort of sweet which i thought was a unique touch. Extra spicy just the way i like it. Did I mention is BYOB? This place is a must. Everyone needs to come here.
