This place has got to be the most awesome place ever! If you’re in town, be sure to check this place out! Parking– sucks, so make sure you come early or .good luck finding parking(or maybe it’s bcuz we are new to the area) Service– bartenders were speedy and friendly! Drinks — they’re the same everywhere Best part? It’s an arcade bar! The other best part? You don’t need coins! You play for free! The environment is awesome. No line to play. Everyone’s super friendly and«shares». You can even play jenga outside(but that’s where the smokers are)

Booked their patio for a private party. They charged nothing to let us use the space, had no bar minimum, and even let us bring in food. Most of the arcade games were fee and the rest we like a quarter. We ended up having way more people show up than expected and out grew the patio space but they were chill and just let us roam free. This is a great place for a party. The bartenders were chill, the games fun, and the location is good.

Whattttttttttttt Don’t believe the mixed reviews I went on a Monday night(on a holiday. Think it’s usually only Sunday) and I had UNLIMITEDCREDITSONALLMY90s– early 00s video games such as crusin world and area 51. Prices were normal. And the space is nice. Hospitable bartenders as well!

My brother and his wife raved about this bar as we decided where to grab a quick drink(in the mood for a Bloody Mary). We walk in to the empty bar and the bartender immediately yells out«ID guys«. We proceed to order as the bartender has a very profound«fuck off» face on. He then tells us he has no zing zang and doesn’t even try to offer an alternative or any customer service at all. Also after reading what another bartender did do the El Pason(manslaughter) a couple of years ago … Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. 1 star– the patio had some fun potential and draft beer was ice cold. Would never come back. Too many options in Austin to receive crapy service.

Came in with a few friends for Sunday fun day! We had a blast out on the patio playing Jenga and drinking beers. We also enjoyed a free pulled pork taco that was set up in a corner as a little catered treat. Kung Fun is always a fun time!

Always have fun here. The music was pretty good for the most part. Only thing is the drinks are a little overpriced.

Awesome place to enjoy the afternoon downtown. Lots of video and other games for entertainment if you are bored with people watching. Love the pickle shots and Bloody Mary bar on a lazy Sunday. Great location as a stop or at the end of your travels! Cant wait to go back!

I only goto King Fu on Sunday afternoons and its always a good time. Good drink specials and nice crowd. Kinda on the young side but there is a good mix of people. Haven’t had any bad experiences with the bartenders. They all seem pretty nice.

I really enjoyed his bar! Lots of places in Austin aren’t really dance friendly and this place is! We went on a Friday night and there was good music and not strong drinks, I’m looking at you bartender. I love the different arcade games in the bar and there is giant Jenga outside, will def come back

I love this bar!!! Kung Fu has a nice casual vibe. The bartenders are always quick to take and make your drink order. I love coming to this bar and playing ski ball, and its free double bonus. There is a nice variety of old arcade games throughout the bar. The make your own Bloody Mary bar on Sunday’s is really tasty. They have Tons of ingredients to add to spice it up. There’s also a great outside area. There are multiple sets of giant Jenga and one large set of Connect 4 outside to play.

The bar is fun and chill during the week and earlier in the weekend before peak 11 – 2 hours. They have a nice outdoor area with heater, janga, some tables and it’s nice be chill out there with friends. Inside they have arcade games that would please any gamer from the 90’s …NBA Jam anyone? It’s usually chill for happy hour or sunday funday but its a different story during 11 – 2 on a weekend. It gets packed, the music is loud and there isn’t really a set dance area so people get creative. This makes for great people watching from the outside. It’s pretty loud inside, so if you’re trying to drink and dance and have a wild night, it’ll be a good time. If you’re looking for a chill time, i’d go outside or go to another place(Maybe Key Bar or a bar on Rainey st) Overall its a cool bar that is fun if you go with friends and chill outside, it’s pretty loud inside so a conversation is not really possible between the hours of 11 – 2. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is awesome so the service is always great.

Free skeeball. Vintage arcade games. Great whiskey selection. What more could you want? Well, machines where the buttons don’t stick, for one. But it’s something they’re aware of, and really can’t be helped due to how old they are. There weren’t that many people around on a weeknight, but I guess that means all the machines were fair game. Best part is they don’t jack up the prices on the video games, so $ 2 takes you a long way. Bartenders were cool, and they were showing the football game on their screen.

Bar was ok — But if your theme is video games, take care of them. Games were just a revenue center. Not a passion. The first 3 I tried to use didn’t work properly. I can get drunk anywhere.

We love taking out of towners here because the patio has giant Jenga and Connect Four while the inside is wall to wall old school video games. On Sundays the games are all free, so you can drink up and play skee ball, Pac Man, TMNT, and a lot more! We usually stay for a few hours but have to walk around or go to Wahoo’s for tacos because we can’t quite drive just yet. ;)

This place is awesome!!! Had one of my best nights here on my Memorial Day Weekend vacation in Austin! Drinks here are superrr cheap! But maybe because I’m used to paying crazy prices in places like downtown San Diego, LA, and NYC, around $ 15 – 20 bucks for one drink –__-. We came on a Saturday around 5 – 7PM, not sure if it was happy hour, but we got two Jameson and Gingerales for 9 bucks!!! WTF! And I mean that wtf in the best way possible! I’m surprised, the drinks here are also cheaper than in Dirty Sixth area(even though that place seems way more dirty and divey). This place is sooo fun! There are old school arcade games, free skee ball, free foos ball, cheap drinks, bunch of TV’s playing sports!!! What more can you ask for???

We headed over here for a Meetup event — and the $ 1 Mimosas after brunch. $ 1 Mimosas — yes. Giant Jenga — yes. The game options are great; giant Jenga, classic arcade games all along the inside walls. However, the atmosphere on Sunday afternoon was heavily frat like, and the music is excessively loud. That’s to be expected in Austin, but wasn’t what we were looking for at the time. I’m interested in going back during the evening to see if it’s any different. If you’re looking for a casual bar to hang out, this probably isn’t it. Come ready play and crash the Jenga games!

After documented incidents of racism and violence towards its patrons, I can’t imagine this place is still open. Hope to add one more nail into the coffin that will rest this deplorable establishment. Yours truly faced a very such unpleasant experience here. Last summer, despite knowing the reputation of his place, I went with a few of my white friends. Big Mistake. While there, our group got into a minor quibble with an over privileged white patron. She was livid and told me, only me, that her boyfriend was a bartender and she would have me out. Again, it was the whole group with me, this guys comes to me, asks me to leave, I do so, not wanting to cause further confrontation. I went out pulled out my camera to record, wanting to know why he would only ask me to leave, while I turned the camera on and focused on him, the bartender pushes me the ground, when I try to re-record again, shows me the middle finger. Classic Kung-Fu. My phone reformatted on me and I lost all the ’ show and tell’. Doesn’t make a difference as I don’t every plan to come back here. I know you like your cheap pickle shots, but do the right thing and boycott this place till it self destructs.

Stopped in on our pubcrawler stop for a quick 20 min. Our driver told us to do the Pickleback so we did… and it was SO good! I’m definitely making these at home, or some version of vodka and pickle juice :) We literally stopped in, walked around for a few minutes, ordered the shots, took a look around and left. We weren’t there long enough to get a vibe on the crowd. They had loud dance music playing so it could have been fun for an hour or so before wanting to head to a casual atmosphere… Rating entirely based on quick service from bartender and a new drink learned that ¾ of us enjoyed.

I am going to be completely honest here … I really wanted to hate Kung Fu Saloon and they made it really hard for me to do that. I have lived here for over 4 years and purposely never gone in here. I have seen all the bad press about the dress code issues and profiling that went on. Not cool — so I avoided it and I really just never hang out on that side of downtown too. I recently had a friend that moved into an apartment really close to Kung Fu … like within walking distance, so when we are hanging out there and get bored one night we found ourselves headed in the Kung Fu direction. We actually hit up a bar across the street first and it was a bit loud there so we decided to go to Kung Fu. I had never been inside before, so when I walked in I was impressed with the games as I had no clue. There is a big round bar in the center of everything. I ordered a gin and tonic and it was delicious. We went back for shots and ended up with a round of pickle shots at one point and they were also delicious. Again remember I am trying to hate this place, but pickle shots are definitely making that hard. Next we decided to go out on the patio and play some of the giant Jenga. Oh man we probably played 10 rounds and had a BLAST! Yes I admit it … we had a blast. Then we went back in and I got to play some Mario Kart and won twice! Again … trying to hate and so far unsuccessful. At the end of the night I left thinking welp … I had fun and didn’t want to. So I guess I am fan now, but will likely not admit that too loud yet, just here on Unilocal only.
