I am a property manager for an apartment complex and we’re updating a 40 yr old unit with upscale fixtures and finishes. I went in to Josco and they were extremely patient and helpful. They gave me several options and advice on how to save money. I highly recommend Josco!

My plumber suggested I go down Industrial Blvd and check out the toilet options in the plumbing supply stores. Based on some reviews, I figured I may be met with some attitude from the staff going in as a mere«lady homeowner» instead of either being A) An actual plumber or B) A man. I went to two places. Joscos and Moore Supply. Both places were places I’d go again. Neither of them gave me attitude for being a lady who had some questions. If anything, they were quite polite, friendly and even humorous.:) I purchased from Joscos because they had the brand I was looking for. However, If I needed a supplier from Moore I’d readily purchase from them as well. Back to Joscos: I talked to a few folks in the store, they were welcoming and helpful. Talked me through all the brands/prices /features that I was looking for in the toilet.(Full disclosure — I did come in having done some research, so I wasn’t expecting them to give me a full plumbing 101 class or anything.) Jonathan helped me select the commodes I wanted, gave me some good pricing(I compared, so I know.) and then even was helpful when I had to call back to double check features such as the«rough in» dimension.

BEWARE of this store. They don’t do what they say they will do and they don’t even try to resolve a problem even when the mistake was theirs. Let me explain. I am remodeling my bathroom and laundry room. I purchased high quality products from Josco at their N. Lamar location totaling $ 5,100 including two sinks, two faucets, a shower system, a free standing vanity and a toilet. At the time of purchase I asked if they deliver and the answer was yes. Not true. When I called my salesman I found out he had been fired and, no, Josco won’t deliver. But that was minor. When my project started we found that the salesman had ordered a retrofit Grohe shower system(total cost of $ 554) which could only be used if you have an existing Grohe shower(which of course I don’t). When asked how long if would take to swap it out with something I could use, Dustin very bluntly said that there wasn’t anything they could do about it. Even though the mistake was admittedly theirs, I had to eat the cost. I asked to speak to the owner and, of course, he wasn’t there. When asked for his name, Dustin said that he couldn’t(wouldn’t) tell me his name. So I asked Dustin to please have him call me back. Imagine my surprise when he didn’t call. I will never buy anything else at this store. Absolutely horrible customer service!

Went to get an unusual diverted valve cartridge for a Pioneer valve. They immediately recognized what it was and had it in stock. They also recommended that I replace the seals. They had these as well. When I explained that I was not a plumber, he explained how to take out the old seals. The reason I am giving five stars is because if the price. Cost me less than $ 16 which I figure is 1⁄10 the coat of a plumber if I knew a good one.

It’s going to happen to you eventually – you’re going to have a problem with your plumbing. And guess what? If you’re trying to DIY the problem(like me), Lowe’s, Home Depot, or any of those other big-box, home improvement stores WON’T always have the part you’re looking for. Josco Plumbing Supply is one of many parts supply shops wedged on to the dusty, and always busy, Industrial Blvd in South Austin. Did I mention they’re small? If you’re driving by and you blink, you’ll miss it. Don’t let that sweat you, though. When I walked in to the store, with only a picture of the part(an American Standard faucet stem) on my cell phone, an employee quickly replied«That’s American Standard… Yeah, we have that». All the parts on my list? They had them. Silicone grease? Got it. Extra washers? Done. Everything was competitively priced, too. The entire process only took a couple of minutes and couldn’t have been easier. I hope to never use them again(because that means I’ll be fixing something else!), but knowing that I will, it’s good to know a place like Josco Plumbing Supply exists.
