We stayed at the South Congress Hotel and this coffee shop is located right across the street. We came here on a Sunday morning around 10 am and they already had a live band going! People were up dancing and hyped up on their coffee. It was great! We ordered the iced turbo which was really good and we were both fighting for the last sip. Of course, we had to take a picture next to the sign — it’s a must if it’s your first time! Live music, great coffee, and an awesome location: it’s the perfect recipe!

«I love you so much.» The graffiti is fun! We took a pic with it and decided to have a coffee! Coffee was decent! My husband got an Italian cream soda with vanilla and cherry. It really tasted like a snow cone – not what we were looking for! Parking is not great, but the service was nice. It was a fun place to visit.

I stayed at the Austin Motel during both my visits to Austin and Jo’s is right next door. The coffee, which I would expect to be awesome, was sub-par at best. I got a regular brew and it tasted bitter and burnt. It was only 8 am when I got it, and they were busy so it couldn’t have been sitting out long. The oatmeal was great though, and not too expensive. I also got a salad wrap for the road and that was excellent!

This place is very convenient if you are staying at the Hotel San Jose. I had coffees and Americanos every day of my visit. They are pretty well organized, although when it’s busy, many people hover around the pickup window and twice I had someone else grab my drink, which was eventually rectified. Note, if the weather is lousy, there is NO inside, unless they hire you. Next time I’m in town, I’ll be there.

I used to come to this place when I lived down south and they had Groupons. I honestly have to say I was not impressed by their coffee in the slightest, especially for the price point. Their sandwich fare is ok, but again, you can get better for the price. I think what you are paying here is the SoCo location and ambiance. So rather than come here w/expectations of local hype, I enjoy their patio seating and iconic«I love you so much» graffiti photo opp. I used to come to this place when I lived down south and they had Groupons. I was disappointed when I visited Jo’s yesterday. My friend and I ordered an iced turbo and a small hot chocolate. Upon checking out, the girl at the register rang my friend and I up for the wrong drinks. I apologized for the misunderstanding and tried explaining to her what we had actually ordered, but all I got in return was unfriendliness. As a former barista, I know how frustrating it is to serve several people in one sitting all while trying to appease everyone. However, I don’t think I was asking for too much in being polite in her response. As far as the coffee goes, it’s nothing to go crazy for. Maybe I caught Jo’s on a bad day, but it just wasn’t everything it was made out to be. I hope to give it another shot sometime soon. The location of Jo’s is in an adorable area of SoCo. Even if you don’t stop by Jo’s and the«I Love You» wall, I highly recommend taking a stroll around the neighborhood. You won’t regret it!

I’ve had the Belgian Bomber, and Pumpkin Latte, various flavored lattes, and their wintermint latte at this point. Everything I’d tried has been absolutely amazing. Never too sweet– I like sweet lattes but nothing extreme, and their level is perfect for me. Smoooooth and amazing. I go anytime before a Saturday shift(once or twice a month) or a closing shift, and I am never let down. They also have a great selection of pastries from Quack’s. Ughhh I love Jo’s. I reallyyyy wish it wasn’t on SoCo, so I could go MORE often. Honestly, a great place for coffee if you’re a local or visiting– don’t think the wall hype is all there is to Jo’s!

Jo’s lately has become more known for«The Wall» than their actual coffee, but don’t sleep on their drinks! Jo’s is a great place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee on one of Austin’s most iconic streets, South Congress. And I guess if you’re up for it, take a picture with the«I love you so much» wall.

I don’t get it. The service was unfriendly, the Bomber was watery, and the taco was soggy(Disclaimer: tacos directly from Tacodeli are delicious). I also don’t get the huge appeal of the sign on the wall, but I suppose points for being part of the way Austin defines itself. However, their location is prime among the various shops in SoCo and it’s a wonderful spot to people watch so i’ll give them that.

I’m a hardcore starbucks fan so it’s very hard for me to drink and like coffee that’s not by starbucks. However, whenever I travel I do like to try a mom’s and pops coffee spot or a popular spot that’s only available at the city I’m in. I have to say that jo ’ s coffee did not disappoint. That Iced turbo Was So goood! It’s a bit sweet but I love sweet coffee so it was perfect for me.

Alright, alright. I know this is an Austin institution. As such, you should TOTALLY go there, despite my 3-star review. However, the coffee was just okay and didn’t match the heightened expectations associated with waiting in line for about 45 minutes. As you very well know, this is the locale of the famous«I love you so much» graffiti. Folks are more than happy to help each other out and snap a picture of themselves in front of the wall, so if you’re already going to wait such an exorbitant amount of time for mediocre coffee, you better grab that coveted tourist shot!

Amazing coffee spot that is obviously a local favorite. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely a great spot to visit if you need some coffee. I love the outdoor shaded seating area. It was a great spot to people watch and get a feel of Austin. The coffee was great.

Friday, 8:45PM. Cool, simple mural on the outside. Quickie: + Drink quality + Friendly staff — Cleanliness — Quick turnaround + Layout ++ Cultural hub And then??? Jo’s Co on SoCo is a good place to unwind or get charged up for your endeavors. ********** Stuffed my face in: 1. Cold fried chicken sandwich + It tastes better than it sounds: their breading and sauce is a good combination. Got my drank on: 1. Iced latte with honey. + Peppery aroma. — Honey didn’t do its job. Constructive comments: *Option to compost *Source ingredients

You’ll know this place by the«I love you so much» streetart that’s so famous, it even has its own Foursquare check-in. But Jo’s is much more than that. They have coffee and food. I went with their famous Ice Turbo because sometimes you need some caffeine and need to satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time. Probably should’ve gone for the less sweet Belgian Bomber, but either way, it hit the spot. Tasted like one of those Starbucks to-go whatever frap drinks, except much better. Definitely gave me the energy to make it through the rest of my SoCo shopping trip.

WHATTHE! I’ve never reviewed Jo’s? The Austin institution? The I love you wall? The best outdoor coffee shop for people watching evar? A little piece of me died when I realized this. Here’s the deal: I’m not much for coffee but I have to hang out in coffee shops as I work remotely and need to take meetings. So Jo’s actual coffee could be totally terrible(although I doubt it.) What I’m most interested in highlighting is the ambiiiaaaaaance of Jo’s. All manner of people are talking, sipping, hanging, bonding, whispering, dating, working, sight-seeing. It’s like a cultural hub — a mecca of sorts for anyone and everyone. They’ve got live tunes on Sundays, they’re dog friendly, they’re on South Congress and have been for some time. When your work day has ended and you need a little patio time, just head on over to San Jose for a michelada. Jo’s Coffee doesn’t need my review — I think most people get it — but if you’ve never been, take an hour, grab a Turbo and nestle in among the humanity. It’s oddly comforting and compelling at the same time.

I got the signature iced turbo! It was a delicious drink of coffee, espresso, and chocolate if I remember correctly. It was the first time I had tried such a unique take on coffee and it was delicious! The crushed ice and amount of sweetness was perfect! The people working there are also super friendly. *** FYI: There is an «I love you» mural on the side of the building where you can take pictures!

Coffee was called the widow maker with almond milk. I will say it was delicious. The coffee I believe is from Stumptown. Too bad half way I saw this fly in my cup. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still come back for this exact coffee, but I’d make sure there are no extra ingredients. That being said, I still have to minus two stars. They are keeping it au naturale I guess.

Yummy yum yum! :) I had the widowmaker, it was delicious :) a little sugary, but good :) I appreciate the service and would go back for sure :) Note: it’s a busy area, may or may not be places to sit, so use the oppurnuoty to drink coffee and take a nice walk :)

Local Austin coffee joint. Busy with long line but moves pretty quick. I ordered the Iced Turbo Coffee. I didn’t expect to be blown away but wow. this chocolate coffee combo was prepped well. Not too sweet, and tasted real coffee not premixed so I had 2 :) Loved the outdoor seating w/live music. Perfect place to chill on a Sunday morning or afternoon. The staff was also very friendly.

You want to order the turbo coffee. It is super delicious and not too sweet. I enjoyed a large size on a Sunday morning with little to no wait. It’s definitely worth it to stop by for a drink. Remember, the line is very long. There’s side parking, but come early because there’s really not much parking in the area. Next to it is the famous wall graffiti about«I love you so much» that many engagement photos and other snapshots are taken.

Love anything anti-Starbucks, so this was a must try while in Austin. No nonsense, good, fresh coffee, with kind and friendly service. Hibiscus Iced Tea and an Iced Chai Latte hit the spot on such a hot day. Definitely recommended! Dog friendly too!

Happy to find some pretty amazing tacos at Jo’s on my first visit. Finding decent sandwiches at a place known for coffee is one thing, but finding great pulled pork tacos is another thing altogether. Not sure where they source the meat but the folks are Jo’s make their own barbeque sauce – sweet and smoky with a little tang – and fresh cabbage slaw and the tortillas come from El Milagros. Love the two outdoor seating areas, one with a counter and stools facing Congress and another with a larger canopy covered patio behind it. Especially, nice for fair weather days. Will be back on another trip to Austin.
