Janet St Paul Studio For Hair

Janet St Paul is God’s gift to the Austin Beauty Scene. She cut her teeth in Manhattan and is as good technically as they come. But… that’s not why I love this lady and her fine business. She truly cares about her clients, her staff, your overall satisfaction and she wants you to look and feel the best you can. Her special gift is in knowing what to do with each type of hair. My hair is thick, frizzy and often unmanageable. I have spent a lifetime trying to tame, thin or control it. The cuts grow out just as beautifully as when you leave the salon. She’s also fab with color. I see Conrad Diaz as well as he is trained by Janet and equally fab! Highest recommendation possible!

Things did not start off well because my appointment was cancelled due to a miscommunication. However, the owner reached out to me and I was rescheduled for the same day. Once I came in, the staff was great! Alvaro apologized for the miscommunication and he told me my service would be courtesy of Janet St Paul Studio For Hair. They even comped me a shampoo! My colorist was a student named Jamie. She was really professional and with the guidance of her instructor, she did amazing balayage work. I absolutely love my hair!
The salon is mega chÍc, clean and comfortable. They offer complimentary beverages like cappuccino, water, coffee and other drinks.
Overall, my experience was PERFECT. They treat the customers with care and turned a simple service into a wonderful experience. I will be returning and would highly recommend this place to others.

The keratin you recommended for Becky has made her hair look like the hair you see on tv commercials for hair products. It is no longer frizzy and looks really silky and shiny.

Jaime is pretty freakin rad! She has been cutting my hair for a while now and I followed her from her last salon. Knows a lot about products. Takes the time to understand what you want. Jaime fo life!

I had the opportunity to come into the salon as a hair model for one of the cutting classes the salon has for their stylists in training. I have curly hair underneath and straight on top, it can get unruly and I don’t like to spend a lot of time styling it. I said all of this to Jamie, the stylist in training, and Shannon, the educator, during the consultation and then let Jamie work her magic. I have never had a better haircut, I get so many compliments everyday. The best part is I spray a little curl cream in the ends after I towel dry and that is it. The cut works with my hair for the first time ever! Jamie showed me how to style it for my daily wash and go and then gave me an awesome blowout finish. I love my cut, Jamie is my new go to for all things hair.

Went to visit Jamie Wing for some color in my hair, she did a wonderful job. Nice subtle but still stands out which is exactly what I needed for work! She was nice and personable, as was all the staff. you can tell Janet cares about the knowledge her employees gain by the way she coaches them! Over all I had a great expierence and can wait to go back!

I can’t believe I actually almost missed this salon by having to cancel last minute… Needless to say, kept it and was rewarded by meeting the lovely and talented Haley. It’s not very often that I know with 100% certainty that my hair is going to be in the best creative hands and be stellar when I leave the salon.
I’m a wear it curly 90% of the time, and when Haley greeted me with her beautiful natural dome of free spirited curls, I knew it was meant to be.
The salon and crew working there foster a relaxing and peaceful clean vibe. Julie the owner and partner in crime Shannon were equally present and welcoming for my first visit in.
My cut was fantastic. Haley took a recent experiment with color turned disaster and was able to help me out immensely with just new layers, crafty curl maneuvering while still helping me keep my length. I’ll be visiting again. And again.

Conrad Diaz is a rock star. The depth of talent at JSP is so solid, it’s refreshing! When Conrad took on the tresses and did my entire mane using balayage technique, I was so impressed. It grew out amazingly, without the ‘demarcation’ line that highlighting with foil has left, in the past – which made it really go the distance between my next color appointment.
He is so pleasant, professional and fun. A delightful addition to the team. Highly recommend!

I had high hopes for the salon. Went in for an Ombré and left with the worst color I’ve had in a long time. They told me I couldn’t go blonde on the ends — which is ridiculous! And the highlights have a ledge a few inches from the root which is awful.
This is NOT the group to go to for an Ombré or trying to go light at all. The reality is Austin is clearly growing fast but the services have a long way to catch up. NO ONE IN AUSTIN CAN COLOR WELL! I’ve tried them all and now have to stray to Dallas, LA or NY.

This studio is the BEST! Janet and her staff are all true professionals. It does not look or feel like a salon, it is more like a trip to the spa with a relaxing luxurious vibe. I have had my hair colored by Conrad and it is fabulous. I’ve had tacky highlights and color jobs in the past and had pretty much sworn off dye, but my hair looks really great now. Janet cuts my hair and she is amazing. She listens to what you want and tells you what she can do. First class all the way! Thanks guys!

Excellent! This salon is truly a gem. Both Janet and Ashley have given me amazing color and haircuts. The staff is highly knowledgeable and friendly without any air of pretentiousness. I use all of the Phyto products that were recommended to me by Janet and Ashley and my hair and scalp look and feel stronger and healthier. I have had alot of haircuts and color in this town and will never go anywhere else. Highly recommend it.

Janet is PURE class. Her quaint salon packs a full punch of perfection. When a salon has Phyto I feel they are in the KNOW for hair health. The hair she produces is by far the top in town and you can spot a «Janet St. Paul Product» anywhere. She is her own walking advertisement. Treat yourself to your newest addiction!

Best cut and treatment I have ever had. I am alway so apprehensive with curly hair, a lot of people just can’t cut it, so coming out with the best cut of my life is impressive. I don’t usually wear my hair down because it is always ends up out of control but Janet created a style that makes my life easy to wear it down.

Janet’s cuts are amazing! Not only do I look great when I leave but the cut grows out keeping you looking stunning. I have thin hair that has a mind of it’s own… we use to fight every morning and it did as it pleased until Janet tamed it and made me look awesome. The difference with Janet is that you get the best technique, combined with an artist that listens to you and helps guide you to the right style. Her salon is beautiful with an energetic vibe and the staff is warm and welcoming. You will pay for the best and you will feel like you got a great deal when you leave. Simply the best!

Super cute boutique salon, super great staff. Definitely a little pricy (especially haircuts) and this is coming from someone who used to get her hair done in Beverly Hills. I can say that if you don’t want to risk getting your hair messed up, go here. You will be in safe hands… just be prepared to spend quite a bit more.

Ashley Van Dusen. her talent is only exceeded by her imagination and ability to lead you towards change. if you need a change, better yet… if you fear change… ask for Adie. you won’t regret it.

My daughter was in from California for vacation and needed a cut and color for her very long, damaged hair. JSP gave us a Saturday appointment on a very short notice. For a Saturday this is almost unheard of. I dropped my daughter off and came back two hours later to a head of shiny, gorgeous color and a fabulous cut. Ashley was amazing. She listened to what my girl wanted and totally transformed her hair into healthy, glistening tresses. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The salon is clean and cozy, not sterile and indistinguishable like a lot of salons. For as long as the hair was, I think the price was very reasonable.
I will make a special trip to Austin just to get my hair done here in the near future.

Janet is one of those people that everybody deserves to have in their lives. I have been to many boutique salons and sat in many stylists’ chairs. Never have I felt so comfortable and confident as I do when I sit in Janet’s. She is so brilliant, talented, and incredible at making you look and feel your very best. In fact, I typically try to schedule my appointments with Janet when I need a lif… e boost of sort, an instant pick-​me-​up, if you will. Janet has changed my life without a doubt.
Is this a stretch… I mean it’s only hair, right? Actually it’s not. Every time I leave Janet, not only does my hair look refreshed and fabulous, but a little piece of my soul feels nourished and recharged. As I gracefully walk out the door, I flip a section of hair behind my shoulder, I look ahead, feeling more confident, more motivated, and more inspired. I feel like I can take on the world, I feel like I can do anything.
