Unilocal readers — run don’t walk to Images of Austin. Believe me, I did the legwork for you. I called around and even visited every frame shop on Burnet Rd. The staff at Images of Austin are so friendly, welcoming and they totally understand that it’s really hard work to navigate through the endless decisions one makes when getting something framed. They guide you through it, and take the stress out of the equation! We brought two posters that were very valuable to me. They took care during the consultation, they listened to what I wanted and gave me a quote that beat the socks off of all other local frame shops. Then, although they said it would be 2 weeks for these large pieces, it was done early! I can’t believe how beautiful our pieces are! It was a joy to work with IoA and we’ll be coming back as soon as possible. Give them your business. FYI they also sell really great Austin items for gifts! Stop in just to check them out sometime.

How have I not left a review for Images of Austin yet? We found this place at the end of last year and had a couple of pieces framed, both of which were beautifully done. Since then we’ve had several pieces framed, as well as a couple of repairs, one of which was a re-stretch from another framer in Austin that did a terrible job. So, here’s what you need to know: 1) Excellent and well organized selection of frames. 2) Beautiful work, these guys do it themselves, including stretching canvasses, they don’t send the work out elsewhere to be completed. 3) Fair price for the work. If you want cheap framing, go to a craft store chain, but if you want quality work and frames, these guys are great. Also, the turnaround time is good. If they say two weeks, they mean it. We used to have a framer that did fantastic work, but it would take the guy weeks to get around to it. Oh, and one more thing. Robin and her husband(Bud, I think), both have an excellent eye, so if you have a piece and aren’t certain what style of frame you want, they provide wonderful input. We had a gigantic painting broken by movers a while back, and the frame was beautiful, and of course, no longer available. It took us a long time to find the perfect frame for it, so it was upsetting when it broke. Robin ended up finding the right frame for the piece, and it turned out better than the original frame we had it in!

I came to Images of Austin because Jerry’s Artarama looked at me like I was crazy wanting a custom frame done within a week. I walked into Images and Robin told me she could do it. She showed me frames that she could order that would arrive earlier and worked with me to choose want I wanted. Come pick up day, the frame wasn’t ready. I was needing to head out of town within an hour and Robin took me back and offered an upgrade on a frame she had. I had the most pleasant wait, they offered me a glass of wine and the frame turned out more beautiful than I would have ever imagined. Thank you to Images of Austin for going above and beyond and being so kind!!!

Robin is exceptional in her work. I brought in two prints to frame a week before Christmas, and Robin worked diligently to get them famed in time. I could tell immediately that Robin was a master in her work and I felt very comfortable letting her chose all the features. The result was absolutely stunning! She has extensive experience and attention to quality, and I will go to her exclusively for framework. Also, her care and kindness made her a pleasure to work with! Thanks Robin!

I have sought out Robin’s expertise at Images of Austin twice, and both times she surpassed my expectations. I took in a giant Texas flag for framing — I gave her an idea of the look I was going for and she nailed it. The second time, I took in a world map to be framed and posted to corkboard. Again, she nailed it. Both pieces are beautiful. Robin has a great eye and she’s the only one I would go to to get something framed.

I took in two archival prints by Arthur Rackham for my fiancé’s birthday. The staff helped me pick out the perfect layout and frame. I love the way they turned out. A proper frame crafted by experts set these prints in a glow. I am looking forward to bringing more pieces to them in the future.

We ordered artwork from a seller on Etsy, excitedly opened the box, and quickly realized that she accidentally wired the middle piece of a triptych to hang vertically instead of horizontally. Rather than go through the rigamarole of having her send a wiring kit to us and us mucking up a pricey painting that we were hoping to have hung before our holiday houseguests arrive, we opted to stop by a local frame shop. When I called Images of Austin, the kind fellow who answered the phone said he’d be happy to take care of it today. We arrived, he whisked the art to the back of shop, returned in a few minutes, and when we asked him how much we owed, he said that there was no charge! That generosity of spirit can be so rare these days. Images of Austin just made a customer for life. You better believe that we’ll take all future framing projects to them. The frame selection is extensive and the customer service can’t be beat!

I’ve been a client of Robin at Images of Austin for more than 16 years. I started out taking a special project from work that had to be a masterpiece or it was my head. She impressed me, my boss, my boss’s boss and on up the ladder. Robin is not your average framer. She is a designer! Being a graphic designer myself, I can appreciate Robin’s expertise and I always go with her creative eye on what I should do with mattes and framing of the various jobs I’ve brought to her. She never fails to impress me with what she picks out. Choosing mattes and frames can be an intimidating task. It’s best to leave it to Robin to do the hard work. You won’t be disappointed! I’ve brought in personal pieces for her to frame for me and my husband. If you have art that is worth framing, treat the piece like a «real» piece of art and spend the money to get it done right. Robin enhances your art with her talent and creative framing design and will make the final product a show piece in your home or office. Images of Austin also is a great place to go to find that unique gift for all occasions. You need something that screams Austin? This place has the biggest assortment of Austin and UT prints. Plus, a huge variety of area artists have wonderfully crafted pieces for sale there. If you want an artistic, high quality framing job done right, Images of Austin is the place to go.

Outstanding service and great end product! Robin the owner has the best and biggest selection of frames I have found in Austin. The frames are very easy to shop and are displayed by color which makes the process of picking out the correct frame much easier. It was nice to work with Robin because she has a great eye and knows what fits best for your project. I wish I could upload a picture of my project b/c I am so proud of it. Images of Austin is not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for… I dont do a ton of framing but next time I do I will be pay Robin another visit.

Mary Doerr’s art work is the epitome of Austin beauty and nostalgia. Pretty much every business in Austin has her art work hanging on their walls. Her watercolor paintings depict the quiet beauty of the outdoors and Austin’s funky past. This gallery also offers incredible picture framing and gifts with a Texas flair. Mary’s daughter Robin now owns/runs the gallery and she has provided even more unique treasures for your buying pleasure.

Mary Doerr’s and Ginny Findeisen’s art gallery sits on an unlikely, but up-and-coming strip of Burnet Road, just north of 45th Street. The gallery houses an impressive variety of prints and original art, all with themes of the Southwest, Central Texas, and most especially Austin. I was surprised at the quality and quantity of works the small gallery had to offer. Beautiful prints of the Austin hotspots, the longtime institutions, the most frequently captured scenes and skylines. The employee on duty let us browse while he worked in the back(the gallery is also a full-service custom framing shop). I am bothered by hoverers, so his casual approach was a gesture of trust that I appreciated. Images of Austin also has calendars, stationary and cool specialty greeting cards. Stop by and take a look at the Barton Springs painting or the unique way in which Mary Doerr has captured our city’s bat obsession in «Nowhere in Austin». Or, peruse the website for a full catalog of the work. I would highly, highly recommend this gallery to anyone who’s in love with Austin. Images of Austin is awesome.
