Bust my buttons! They are now closed at this location. Some of you will be happy and some of you will not, but that’s the way it rolls. I stopped by today 6÷22÷2010 and they were locked and the sign was covered. RIP Lakeline Hooters!

How have I never been in a Hooters before? …and how had I not heard that there is a place that still has smoking right near the Alamo Drafthouse? This Hooters is on the grandfather-clause list so they can currently allow smoking and just popped onto my radar in a big way. I’ll be checking ‘em out soon. If they really have smoking indoors, it’s five stars all the way baby(and five stars right now just for being on the list)!

Another easy one. I think all the guys give it a 4 cause they don’t want to seem like a jerk and give it five. I think the wings are REALLY overrated. And by overrated I mean«covered in a film of grease so thick you need a Sham Wow to sop it all up.» I am much more a fan of the Cuban sandwich. I like the little things too, the bags of ice in the pitchers, the plethorea of televisions that are all tuned in to different channels, not just all the same.

I hadn’t been to a Hooter’s for at least 20 years. I went there the other day with friends for lunch. It was fun, the food was good, but it was weird that the burgers didn’t come with fries by default for me. The fried pickles were good. The waitress was super hot. I also would definitely take my 5 year old son here. I don’t know what it is, but he’s a charmer and he loves the super cute waitresses. He’s plays shy which makes them even more interested somehow even though he really isn’t. I’m weird though because I’m not real big into national chain restaurants, but I’d go again if the opportunity presents itself.

Alright, you’ve all been to Hooters before. They’re basically all the same — decent service by girls in now-dated and interesting uniforms serving cold beer, interesting seafood, and wings. I’m going to focus on the wings here. These are breaded wings. VERY different than«naked» wings, what you’d normally get at a wing-bar. Enjoy the fact that they’re breaded and fried for extra fatness. Also enjoy the fact that Hooters actually does have good sauce flavors but remember to order +1 on the hotness scale. If you normally go medium, hot is your thing, etc. They have three mile island and Bentley flavors that are even hotter, so enjoy those at your own peril.(they’re not that hot) The best other dishes are their clam boils and fries with the cheese sauce. None of these items are hard to find or all that original, but cram ‘em all into a place that has giant Texas shaped tables(presumably just in Texas) and pour some cold beer all over it(with ice bags in the pitcher, sealed, to keep it cool. Genius) and you’ve got something special. Enjoy. This is my second favorite place for the wings themselves and first favorite by general atmosphere. And yes, Austin has a few other wing places I need to try out to potentially change my ranking.
