Went in a lil late but Sam still welcomed me and probably gave me the best hair cut I’ve had in awhile. Definitely recommend Sam/Freestyles!

Alex is the man! I get my haircut every two weeks on the dot and my fade is always on point. I have very straight hispanic hair and these guys know what to do. My roommate has the complete opposite kind of hair and gets his tapper fade with Manny and he is on point as well. I have been coming here for a couple of years now and always recommend this place to close friends. Make sure to tip your barbers, there is nothing worse than someone asking for all these specific kinds of cuts and adjustments and you give them a 20 and ask for change back. Stay classy Austin.

I go there for Sambo the Barber. Dude knows how to cut black hair better than any barber I’ve dealt with in Austin

I’ve been to Freestyle twice to get a haircut. The first time the cut was a little above average and the second time it was below average. They are cheaper than other barbershops in town, but their cuts are nothing to write home about. Comparable to your chain barbershops in both price and cut.

I ran in to FreeStyle BarberShop to get quick haircut and didn’t really not expect a lot. I NEVER write reviews so for me to write one something either really bad or good has to happen. Well the older Hispanic gentleman(in the center bay) so pleasantly surprised me. He perfectly cut my hair, paid attenuation to detail and used warm cream with a straight razor to shave the unwanted hairs. I haven’t even mentioned him being a very interesting person to talk to. I wasn’t looking for a new Barber but let’s just say I found one. Thrust me when I say that you need to try this guy out!

So I have been on the hunt for a barbershop here in Austin since I moved here from Houston and this will be the second place that I have went into for a cut. I ran across this place just driving down South Congress and saw the sign and I figured they were worth a visit. I walked in to a clean barbershop and noticed there are 4 people cutting hair. They were playing Tejano music in the background and I immediately wanted a beer and a shot of tequila… HA! I was greeted and asked if I had an appointment and stated I didn’t just needed a haircut. I waited about 10 minutes or so which wasn’t bad at all as I expected to wait longer given it was a Friday when I walked in but it was still before noon so I guess it was a good time for me to get there. I was told that they get really busy on the weekends and although they do accept walk-ins, it is better to make an appointment or call ahead when you want to come in on Thursday-Saturdays. note: they are open 7 days a week Barber Alex cut my hair. I explained what I wanted and he went to work… he seemed to be very soft spoken as he was focusing on his cut but we did chat some. He was nice. He cut my hair to the exact point of what I mentioned I like. He was great. The cut was $ 15…although I am not sure if that is the standard price and they go up or down depending on what you get done, but I paid $ 15. Alex accepts credit cards as does another barber but I would bring cash because it is easier to deal with. I liked the atmosphere as it was really relaxed and everyone knew each other which is what reminded me of my old barbershop in Houston that I went too for 4 years. This may be my local spot now that I am back in the ATX… So if you are in need of a cut, give these guys a try you will not be disappointed. Oh and the new shop number is as follows:(512) 448‑9670 just in case you get a disconnected message from the old number.
