Amazing antique salvage items with an artistic flare. There are so many unique treasures at Fortney’s you can spend an hour looking in every nook and cranny. My favorite is the outside courtyard. If you are a treasure hunter at heart you will love this place.

This place is so soo cool and unique. This is one of those places that you can walk by a hundred times but until you actually walk inside you are completely blown away on everything that this place has. I know that that they had some nice electric furniture and décor but i never expected it to have such a wide variety. It is really a lot to take in. I was surprised to find that they had a additional building ‘cottage’ and and an entire second floor consisting of décor from all over the world including Africa. I was surprised to find the prices were so fair considering its location. This place is deceptively a lot bigger that it looks.

One of our go-to spots for gifts. Lots of great Texas-y stuff but also beautiful and whimsical items, always something unexpected. Love this place for browsing too — where else could you find a luggage bar and imagine yourself drinking on a desert island?

In all honesty, I expected this place to be grossly overpriced and it wasn’t. They have very interesting and creative pieces for your home and the guys that work there(possibly the owner) were really helpful and kind. They were nice about my bulldozer son walking alongside me and asked him questions about what he liked. Some of the most interesting items they have are gorgeous antique and modern lighting. Lamps, chandeliers and more. They also have beautiful dyed leather hides in their western room. They have gorgeous bronze fountains and sculptures that would be incredible in the lawn of a hotel, business, or home much larger than mine. They have art work from the Beatles to western paintings. This is a must see place with so much to see. If you are looking for something beautiful and interesting or just plain odd, this is the place to find it.

So I would have never known about this place unless I took the duck tour. We happened to spot it and made a note to check it out sometime, soooo glad we did. The entrance is a small door way sized area, but extends way way back to a cabin like thing. Then to the left you have a 2 story house. Honestly it takes a good 5 mins to walk a couple feet b/c the place is jammed packed wtih soooo many interesting and unique things. We spent a quality hour looking around and drooling over the awesome things, if only my pocket book was as big as my eyes lol I def saw some things I would like to save up and get from here. Take a Saturday and go check it out, you will enjoy it!

Fortneys… I adore thee. Let me list the whys: Fun and funky paintings, giant life size horse sculptures, fat grinning frogs, little piggy banks with wings on them, mermaids of all sizes, cowhide rugs, antler chandeliers, pirate-y parrots, mischievous garden gnomes, delicious smelling candles(archipelago, ambient FTW), «come and take it» framed flags, mirrors, stars, crosses, fortune-telling palms, watercolors with painstakingly weathered crackled frames, garden fountains, nymphs, st. francis of assisi, kissing ducks, old decorative ceiling tiles, squeaky stairs, nooks, crannies, each piece bursting with a unique quality, elegant, vibrant, lovely, kooky, cute. It’s like someone pulled my heart out, figured out all the things I love and wish for, and put them in this store. I could spend $ 1000 and be happy with every single thing.

I really, really like old furniture. The second I walked into Fortney’s, I thought, «This place is freakin’ great.» Whether you’re looking for a couch, dresser, painting, or just some sort of collectible, Fortney’s is a great find. Think of it as an upscale Uncommon Objects. They also have a wealth of mirrors, an outdoor patio with many coffee tables, and a western furnishings gallery behind that. I actually felt like I had walked into some cabin back in the 1880’s. Not that I would know what that exactly feels like… I’m not that old. Still, you get the point. Fortney’s is a great place to shop, and a great place to kill some time if you like antique stores.
