Fencing Done Right

Matt did a great job for us. His bid came in at the right dollar amount and the job was well done. They did a quality job and it was done in the time promised. I later had a warranty issue on a gate and he came out and fixed it the next day after I called him. I would endorse is work to others.

This business is owned by Matthew Hudson. Personable guy, friendly but if you hire him, don’t expect fast responses and good luck with your warranty work. He did a 174 post perimeter fence for us as well as installed an iron entrance gate with Apollo opener. It took Matthew 2 months to begin work and eventually completed the job in about a month. The fence looks sound enough but a few posts are wobbly and many are set in concrete below ground level. They’re pressure treated so I hope they are impervious to water. The interior of the fence is mesh and has been done well enough.
The problem with this company is that they take a long time to return phone calls, if at all. Warranty requests are ignored. My gate opener stopped working about 6 months after it was installed. The opener is connected to a solar panel that gets about 2 hours per day of sun shine, if there’s no overcast, and it is set between large mature trees. Matthew would not consider relocating the solar panel to a more sunny location. The contractor who programmed the opener says he never got paid for his work and Matt will not respond to my request for warranty work on the opener.
I will be working with another fence and gate contractor from here on out as I believe the battery is now dead. I will also consider running a circuit out to the opener and connect it to the house electricity.
At this time, because Matthew will not return phone calls (we parted on friendly terms at the conclusion of the project and have never requested warranty work until now) and because I do see other reviews on Angie’s list that are either not favorable, and because other contractors are telling me that people are also unhappy with Matthew’s unresponsiveness, I will no longer be working with him and left him a final message indicating this.
