So, we drove in about 9:45 pm on a Saturday night to get some gas — you know, pay at the pump. But the pumps are all turned off. I went inside to find out why, and the cashier greeted me with, «Sorry, we’re closed. It’s a shift change, that’s why the pumps are off. It will be about 15 – 20 minutes before they’ll be back on.» He said something else, too, that sounded like he had to do it alone or he didn’t know what he was doing, so it would probably take longer. THAT was the only thing that sounded reasonable. Now, maybe some underpaid louse of a clerk was late for work, so perhaps they could not do a proper shift change procedure, but some manager type should have been there to take care of it. Folks, it’s just not good business practice to leave an inexperienced young person in charge of a busy store — whoever does so is asking for trouble. I suppose I can’t blame this clerk — it looks like he was just left there, without any support, to fend for himself. The management is solely responsible for this — whether or not they are present. If management were present, I believe this would have never been problematic — and the new guy would have gotten appropriate training. Perhaps a more interesting question would be whether this would have happened if 7-Eleven had not come in and bought up all the Tiger Marts. It very well could be that 7-Eleven has some kind of oddball scheduling & supervision policy to perhaps keep labor costs down. I just don’t know, but I DO know that the city does not stop charging for electricity if you close for 20 minutes — and that paying customers have little choice but to walk away with their money intact.

It’s a gas station that also doubles as a homeless camp behind the car wash that’s not turned on. It’s gone downhill since Tiger Mart became Speedy Stop.

Big and convenient … I don’t really care for their car wash … otherwise a-ok. I my most recent visit it was kind of stinky but I think something happened cause mops were out and the door was open.

Today I decided that it had been a sufficient amount of time since my last Tiger Mart frustration. I went in specifically for coffee and nothing else but the Crispy Cream display called my name with the $ 1.99 coffee and donut special. So the guy is at th register with that I had a run in with before. He rings me up $ 2.39. I am not a human calculator but that sounded high. I swipe my card, look at the sign for the special again and then I just ask. He says you got the 16 oz coffee, the special is for the 20 oz coffee. What a freekin rip off.

Car washer BEWARE! Went through this carwash after hubs insisted we get the $ 9 option(top of the line). $ 3 was too much for this silly waste of time and money. CURSEYOUROBOTS! I throw my glove at you! Auto-Carwashes are really fun to sit through but if you claim to give us a spot free shine then, DAMMIT, I want a spot free shine. Instead I feel like it just shellacked the dirt to the car and left it very spotty. Only plus is the pretty colors that are sprayed on the car when it’s putting on the ‘un-spot free’ shine goo. SERIOUSLY it was very pretty. OK, I guess there is one more plus. I always have to make out with my husband when we’re in a carwash. It’s sort of an unspoken rule, right? Half star for pretty goo and full star for makeout time.
