This food is amazing. If you are the type of person that gets nervous about trying new things… You shouldn’t be here. Elida is great at explaining what is in the dish. Will definitely be back to try everything on their menu!

Elida’s is a great little truck in North Loop that serves both Honduran and Mexican food. I tried a little bit of both with a baleada clasica and a steak gordita, and both were very satisfying. Tasty food and very filling portions for a good price. I will be back.

I got the fried chicken and plantains, which was mediocre. It was pretty much rotisserie chicken, lightly heated up plantains(not fully cooked or caramelized), and a side of sauce that tasted like the sauce from Raisin’ Cane’s. Also had the plantains frito, which was better. Overall, this was a pretty«eh» food truck, which is a shame because there are so many great food trucks in town.

This is a Honduran taco stand. I don’t know anything about Honduran food, but their thing appears to be baleadas, which are kinda like burritos that were folded instead of rolled, if that makes any sense. They also have a variety of shaved ice drinks that are much appreciated in the heat here. Only thing I have to complain about is that sometimes they seem to close earlier, so it’s tough to know when they are open. Otherwise, it’s a welcome addition to the other crowded restaurants along North Loop.

Elidas food trailer on North loop and Ave F was a nice surprise! I generally don’t go in for food trailers, preferring to have air conditioning and a bathroom when I eat. However I stopped by out of convenience, and I have to say, I had a delightful meal for $ 7! I had a fajita chicken gordita and a tropical taco with this creamy green spicy hot sauce that was out of this world! Also a mango agua fresca that was delicious. Fast, healthy Mexican and Honduran food at such a reasonable price– and its just getting cool enough to enjoy eating outside!

I tried the baleada tropical which was delicious, it’s a big flour tortilla filled with refried beans, eggs, and avocado. It was served with tasty smooth green salsa. The fried plantains were great too, and I was surprised that they weren’t covered in sugar like you find most places. They came with beans and a generous portion of queso fresco. Looking forward to The couple who runs the stand seems really nice and I am looking forward to visiting again soon!

After driving by this place twice a day since it opened, I decided to check it out with a coworker for lunch. The owners were super friendly and happy to answer our questions about menu items! We ordered a few things, since we wanted to try a couple dishes and everything was a great price! We each ordered the baleada compuesta, which is a Honduran taco/burrito of sorts. It consisted of a large(and yummy!) tortilla filled with beans, egg, avocado, cheese, sour cream, and choice of meat(carne asada or chicken), and then folded in half. All the flavors were good and it was filling! We also ordered the fried plantain, which was accompanied by sour cream and refried beans, and the pupusa, which came with curtido, a lightly fermented slaw(thanks Wikipedia!). The pupusas needed a little more filling and flavor, in my coworker’s opinion(she’s more experienced with pupusas than I). I don’t know if they make their own sour cream or not, but the sour cream with the fried plantains was really delicious and added a nice tartness to the semi-sweet plantain. Good food, great prices, and they take credit cards via square. I’ll definitely swing by again soon!

I took my dog for a walk the other day and happened upon Elida’s. They are located in the car wash parking lot that’s next to Drink Well and they call themselves Hondo-Mex which I assume means Honduran and Mexican cuisine. Awesome addition to the loop. All I’ve tried is the fruit cup so far but I’ll be back ASAP.
