So far, I’m less than impressed with the quality of the food. I tried DD on a promotional offer that allowed me to purchase fewer entrees than the required 30+ entrees you are normally required to buy. Like most people, I was hoping to find a way of stocking my freezer with healthy meals for those super-busy evenings when we just don’t have time to prepare a meal. Unfortunately, the meals I’ve served my family have been totally mediocre. The portions of pre-divided meat on a steak meal were completely different. One portion weighed 5 ounces and another just under 2. We are usually great at eating leftovers in my house — I have thrown away DD leftovers from each of the 4 meals I’ve cooked so far. PRO: Fun and satisfying to prepare several meals in advance. CONS: Not cheap. Less expensive than dining-out BUT definitely not a way to save money. Mediocre food — much of which is provided by national food supplier Sysco — so there’s nothing fresh or local. Overall, Dream Dinners is a great concept but I’d love to see higher quality, fresh ingredients for the price you are paying. I have 2 more meals in the freezer and, frankly, I’m not looking forward to making them.
