First time ordering from these guys yesterday. I took advantage of the Saturday special and really enjoyed it! Unilocal is being a bully right now and telling me I should write more, but yeah good pizza, good cheese sticks. Give ‘em a try!

The last thing Far West needs is another crappy pizza parlor! Just like Gatties(yes I’m miss spelling their name) you get just add water dough, cheese product pellets and Dow Chemical meat products. So glad to see them empty on a Friday/Saturday nite!!! Absolutely crap pizza!!! Here’s a hint, try Rebel Pizza, East Side pies pizza. So if you like double Daves pizza, Gotti’s pizza, you might not like real flavor!!!

The buffet here is an excellent lunch option for under $ 10! A soft drink or tea is included in the buffet price too, nice touch. The varieties of pizza on the buffet are very interesting compared to other nearby places offering the same old boring options. Along with pizza there is also a salad bar, desserts, Stromboli, and pepperoni rolls to name a few. Staff will usually whip up a fresh pie of your choosing if you don’t see it on the buffet already. I looooove the buffalo chicken style pizza as well the one with all kinds of pork based products. The beef Stromboli with garlicy goodness is to die for. These guys really lay on the toppings on the buffet pizzas unlike other pizza buffet places who tend to hold back on toppings(I’m looking at you Mr Gattis!!!). Have never had delivery or take out here so cannot comment on the quality. But the fresh pies brought out to the buffet are right tasty. Dessert offerings are interesting, most are light and flaky but on the sweeter side for sure. Staff has always been polite and helpful. We’ve never had to wait longer than 2 minutes to purchase a buffet. Dining and restrooms areas are always clean even during busy buffet hours. Plenty of HDTVs in here with sports including the Longhorn network and NFL network. There is an outdoor patio area behind the drink and salad bar but I have not seen any furniture out there. I have seen people step out there for a smoke before returning for more pizza and did not notice any smoke odor sneaking back in through the door which is nice. There’s a nice little bar tucked in here too. I’ve never purchased alcohol here the bar area looks appealing if I was going to catch the game and get out of the house for an evening. Ample parking in the lot closest to the street and elsewhere in the business complex. Senior discount for older diners which is appropriate as there are many seniors living in the immediate area. Salad lovers may be let down by the salad bar selection as it is simply adequate when it comes to the selection of veggies. What was on the salad bar was fresh, crisp and clean and I’ve no complaints about the overall quality of the salad items on offer. Plenty of ranch dressing on hand for the ranch dippers out there!

I actually like the flavor and texture of DoubleDave’s pizza, the sauce is a little different from the norm and it’s a nice solid product. The restaurant is located in a safe neighborhood location on Mesa between Steck and Spicewood Springs. I think alot of people my simply overlook it, especially here in Austin with all of our choices, because it’s a chain restaurant with a somewhat«corporate» atmosphere. However, their pizzas have great sauce, good cheese, and I like the thickness of the crust. Truth be told, I like their pepperoni rolls even more than their pizza. They have a nice selection of specialty pizzas and sandwiches and it’s a good place to bring the family. They do have a full salad bar for those who are gluten free. They deliver as well.

We had a terrible delivery experience. The pizza took 1 and half hours to get to our home(and we live on the same street as the restaurant, less than 1 mile) and the pizza was cold and soggy. When we called about this, the manager seemed confused about the order — order number vs. delivery number vs other number. My husband went over there in person to rectify this and was surprised that the restaurant was completely empty. We gave them the benefit of the doubt for the slow delivery because it was Saturday night and maybe they were slammed, but this was not the case. We did get a full refund, but very disappointed at the delivery service.

I’m not one for putting lipstick on a pig. You know some things are exactly as advertised. I believe double Dave’s is that way. You know what they have and it’s mostly consistent. I lived in northwest Austin about 8 years and have been in nieghborhoods and streets most folks don’t know exist. Mesa is one of my favorite just for the drive. In all those days I’ve never stopped at DD off Mesa. All that changed today 10.16.15. The Wife and I were in the area and a certain restaurant which recently opened wasn’t serving breakfast anymore. It was enough that my Wife sais I’m out. Well over to DD we headed. The parking is tight so don’t expect to slam into spaces for an SUV. I got our pickup in one but the neighboring truck made it snug. The building is a cookie cutter vanilla design, what you see in most middle class areas. The inside is a bit nicer than most locations we’ve been to. The men’s room is spacious and clean. One thing I have never liked are those angled booth seats. I’m guessing the owner is making sure customers pay, eat and desert the booth for the next set of folks. The things are ugly and plain uncomfortable after fifteen minutes. The pizza is fair enough that you may find something you like. One thing is they allow requests for the pizza buffet line. You can order anything you can dream up with the toppings they have. The big hit for most everyone are the pizza rolls. They hold up good against a lot of places in my opinion. So you get what you pay for and generally get your money’s worth.

Ordered pizza at about 7:45 on a Sunday. Called about an hour and a half later and they said they had a new driver and he should be on his way. Called back another half hour and canceled my order and was told that if I wanted to drive over there when the manager was working next they would give me a discount coupon for my trouble. Two hours wasted on a Sunday night, order at your own risk.

What a disappointment with their delivery service. Ordered at 6:12, finally received the 1 pizza and 1 salad ordered at 7:48. I was actually on the phone with them at 7:48 trying to get a refund when the delivery driver arrived. Needless to say, I got a soggy salad and a cold pizza for almost $ 30. Won’t be trying that again. What was interesting was that while I was trying to cancel the order on the phone, they were arguing with me that they never even received my order, trying to blame their web service for not functioning. Clearly need to get it together and a little kindness with customers on the phone: what a concept.

We were so excited when they opened this location, especially when we heard it had a patio and served wine. When my folks said they felt like Pizza this is the first place I thought of. My folks are in their upper eighties and my dad can be a challenge since he is not easily mobile. We ordered their largest pizza with four toppings, a glass of wine for my husband and tried to order two beers for my parents. My parents, for whatever reason, prefer tap beer. They are not super picky about what kind but really like light beers, as in Miller light, Bud light, Michelob light, pretty much anything light, you get the picture. Apparently Double Dave’s could not deliver. They don’t have anything like that on tap, bottles were available but not tap. Frustrated, I said«Ok, fine. What do you have on tap that’s comparable?» The guy behind the counter started naming off porters. Say what?! Finally I gave up and just ordered two Miller light in the bottle, which they didn’t like and didn’t finish. But on to the pizza. First off being early Sunday evening, they were not busy, maybe 3 tables the whole time we were there. The pizza was delivered to the table and looked really great but it wasn’t really hot. We didn’t have to worry about burning our fingers or mouths. It was just luke warm. I don’t know how long it sat back there before they brought it to the table but it must have been a while. If my folks hadn’t been there I would have taken it back and made them reheat it. But as it was my dad had gobbled two pieces down before I even had two bites of mine so I just let it go. If we come back, I’ll be sure and specify that I want HOT pizza. We probably won’t bring the folks since they can’t get a light tap beer and don’t like bottles.

Another great Austin Classic in a new location. The pizza here is fresh and well made. $ 10 on Wednesday will get you there buffet and a fountain drink or a beer! That’s a steal deal! There were some older ladies there and the requested a couple of pizzas which you can do when your paying. It was so nice the brought the pizzas to these ladies at there table and served them. Normally they just call out when the pizza is out to eat. Great job guys!

It’s DoubleDave’s. They have yummy pizza rolls and alright pizza. The reason this location is lame is that I live about 2 miles away and they won’t deliver to my house. The reason they won’t deliver is because«they don’t feel they can deliver a quality product if they have to cross 360». Guys… It’s DoubleDave’s. It’s not like you are delivering the most amazing pizza in the world. Your pizza is perhaps a step above Papa John’s and they have no problems delivering to the other side of 360. Is there some sort of magical force field that prevents the delivery drivers from crossing the road? Does the pizza automatically spoil if it crosses the plane of the Capitol of Texas Highway? Or maybe there are aliens that prowl 360 looking to abduct pizza delivery drivers so, just to be safe, you don’t go that way? I was all hyped to have another delivery option in the neighborhood and you went and crushed my hype. Thanks a lot DoubleDave’s.

Finally a reasonably priced pizza place in my neighborhood! Don’t know about you, but I don’t like paying $ 40 for a pizza unless I’m actually in Brooklyn or Chicago eating it! Everything was clean and the staff is very friendly. They kept some cool features of previous restaurants like the bar and the fireplace. The salad bar was great too. Tap beer, pizza and a salad bar for less than $ 10 is an amazing deal!

I work and live within walking distance so I’m glad it opened. The staff is friendly and the building feels newer than other locations. The buffet is the same as other locations. There is certainly better pizza available in Austin, but I like to be able to eat a salad with my pizza. $ 10 for the buffet including a beer is hard to beat. Bottom line, it’s not the greatest, but the buffet is a good balance between value, tastiness, and healthiness.

The website advertises a dinner buffet for this location on Sun and Wed nights but turns out they don’t. When we brought this to their attention, they didn’t seem to think it was important that it was false advertising on their website.
