I was fortunate to get to try Bootcamp East this past weekend while visiting a friend of mine in Austin. When she told me we were going to bootcamp, I was terrified. I did not drive all the way over here to get my butt kicked and surely enough… I got my butt kicked hard! It was a great workout overall! I felt terrific afterwards. Ryan does a great job of changing up the workout from cardio to abs to core. The hour workout went by very fast and it’s because we were constantly moving and performing different exercises. You definitely will not be bored. Although I only worked out twice with Ryan, I was hooked and tried to convince him to move down to Houston. I have been to several other bootcamp classes in Houston and this was by far my favorite! It’s time for Bootcamp East to relocate to Htown!

I love Bootcamp East. I’ve only been a handful of times but I think the true proof of a good bootcamp is when you feel better when you leave than you did showing up. I attend the 6:00a-7:00a class M/W/F, and it’s not easy to be excited about doing anything at all at that hour, let alone bear crawls. However, Ryan is SO positive and encouraging, I actually begin to believe him when he’s yelling, «That’s perfect!» or «You guys look great!» I’m fairly sure I don’t look great, let alone perfect. I’m sore in the morning – the kind of sore that feels good, that tells you that you worked hard and pushed yourself. It’s a small, intimate group and not everyone will love that, but I do. It allows individual attention to each group member, to be sure they’re doing each exercise correctly and feel good doing it. I highly recommend Bootcamp East if you are looking for a real, humble bootcamp that will push you to your limits, while still making you feel good.

Suicides? Not my favorite thing. Cold, early morning workouts? Not my favorite thing. Pushing through physical exertion with other bootcampers by a motivational coach that helps you break through the mental barriers of ‘I can’t…it’s too hard’ to help you achieve fitness success? All totally worth it. If you’re interested in starting your fitness journey or just wanting to mix up your daily workout routine, I definitely recommend Bootcamp East. I’ve been an athlete my entire life, but my exercise routine started to wane as grad school took over my life. These bootcamp workouts have jump started my new years resolution for a healthier year, plus I’ve met some really cool workout buddies. My cardiovascular and core strength has definitely improved since starting these classes 2 weeks ago. It’s not easy and requires hard work, but I always feel a great sense of satisfaction after one of these workouts because I know I gave it my all… sometimes those feelings are sore abs or quads :) I hope I can get my six pack come Spring Break!

This thing kicks my butt. I pretty much loathe the cardio section(it’s HARD) but I feel great at the end of each day and I’m already seeing a difference. It’s a good mix of pushing you to your limits — like almost to the point of throwing up — but not quite. So that’s good.
