Beware Coffee is small truck right by Spiderhouse. I ordered the Fantasy Sweet, as everyone on Unilocal seemed to recommend it most. I forgot to order it iced, so they gave it to me hot and I ended up going back up to have it remade, which they were nice about. Turns out I actually preferred it hot though, I think it tastes best that way. The coconut/honey taste the drink had was unique, haven’t really seen that flavor combination anywhere else. Cool spot, but definitely not fast, so go when you aren’t in a hurry.

The people who are in this coffee truck are enough to make me throw my money at them alone. They are so incredibly sweet and helpful, and they definitely make a mean cup of coffee(in a good way). I tried their espresso and aeropress and was really happy with the quality of the product. The truck is set up so that a tent covers most of the seating area that includes a variety of picnic style tables and there was a kitten prowling around. It was honestly just the best ever. Fantastic!

With the previous Unilocal reviews, Beware had a lot of Unilocal hype to live up to, and it answered the call. As others have pointed out, the owners are very friendly and helpful. I think I’ve tried about 70% of the coffee shops in town, so I’m always looking for something unique to set a coffee place apart from others. I ordered an iced ginger latte and a fantasy sweet. Wow, both were amazing. The flavors were an amazing blend of flavors with no flavor overpowering the other. The coffees were both smooth and thoroughly enjoyable. The prices are very reasonable as well. No complaints to speak of other then I wish they were closer to me or located in an area of town that I am in more often. Not their fault and it is good enough that I will make a special trip for a cup of Joe!

I don’t even know how to write a Unilocal review to do justice for this coffee truck. I love(good) coffee and especially lattes. I searched Unilocal a lot before visiting Austin to identify the coffee places I wanted to try and this was by far the best. In fact, I had the best latte at Beware Coffee that I’ve ever had, and I do not say that lightly. The coffee truck sits in the parking lot of Spider House near campus. It’s not really a place for meetings or to get work done, but it would be a nice spot with a friend or to read a book on a nice day or get it to go. I had read that the coconut latte was really good. I’m not much for flavored lattes because they are usually way too sweet for me, but I decided to try it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The latte was smooth with no burnt taste and the perfect amount of sweetness. They use coconut oil and then slightly sweeten it which is why the latte doesn’t have the gross syrupy taste a lot of flavored coffee drinks have. The couple who run the coffee truck were friendly. It did take a few minutes to get my drink but it was worth it. I almost came back after breakfast and got another latte. It was THATGOOD! This is the real deal. You must try it if you like coffee.

You know you are in the right coffee place when you can read the tattoos of the customers ahead of you in line. Beware Coffee is a coffee truck with seating in the parking lot of Spider House. Don’t bother bringing your laptop to get work done. You are drinking your coffee and moving on — but you are drinking absolutely first rate coffee. This is the only coffee place I know of in Austin with a huge number of absolutely new completely fascinating original coffee drinks. They put fresh ginger in coffee. Fresh ginger tastes amazing. They put coconut oil in coffee. Coconut oil is pleasant enough in coffee … and it does make the coffee very filling. No need for breakfast tacos, You will have had your meal after coconut coffee. They have a drink called an oil spill which pours espresso over hot milk and cream. And the list of innovations goes on. Virtually everyone around you from the staff to the customers would not be out of place in the Spider House Ballroom or at the Mohawk, You get reflected«coolness» points just from drinking coffee within ten feet of these people. The setting is great, the coffee is great and the crowd is great. The only house rule is coffee and conversation only. If you need to get work done, they have these places called«offices» where you can do that.

Disclaimer: I’m a coffee snob. This is the best latte hands down. Patika, Flat Track, Figure 8… they are all great… but this wins. The service is great and the people running the truck could not be nicer.

Beware coffee is sex in my mouth. Worth he 10 minute walk from RLM to here. Oh my gosh. I got the iced fantasy sweet and it’s the creamiest ice coffee drink to have ever entered my body. It’s has this delicious coconut honey taste along with taste of espresso. The best thing about it is its consistency. It’s not watery at all, it’s seriously the perfect consistency, and also not extremely over priced like most coffee trucks are. Never going to Starbucks again. So happy I discovered this gem today

The best things come from unassuming places I’m a #coffee junkie. I’ve tried all the shops in Austin, and this place Beware Coffee, Cuvée, and Mañana are my favorite. The baristas are super sweet and nice, and the coconut oil and honey lattes are perfectly sweet and the espresso is smooth. Goes to show, you can’t really judge anything by its appearance. This place is really a hidden treasure.

As the top Unilocal rated coffee in Austin, expectations were high, and they were definitely met. I ordered the coconut latte. Perfect blend with a subtle and smooth taste of coconut. Not one of those flavored lattes that are overly sweet. Best way I’ve started my morning in a while. Excited to return and try they’re other espresso drinks. Staff was super friendly and quick! And the atmosphere is adorable, with seating both in and outside their little tent around the truck. There is a parking lot with small spots but street parking, too, if that’s an issue!

Delicious coffee that hits the spot, plus you can grab one and sit in Spiderhouse, luckily one of Austin’s institutions that is still standing. On a beautiful Austin day, it hits the spot.

I recommend the coconut latte or their fantasy sweet to my fellow coconut lovers. I usually like my coffee sweet but these aren’t. I think I like the coconut flavor so much that it doesn’t matter haha. Unfortunately they don’t serve any type of food/baked goods. This truck is super cute. It has its own personal little tent and a few tables and chairs. The couple that runs the business are also really nice and friendly.

Every previous Unilocaler is right that this one of the best cups of coffee you can get in town! The weather has been great in Austin lately, so it’s wonderful to go out and sit on the picnic tables and just enjoy the coffee. The guy who served my coffee was extremely friendly and seemed to truly enjoy his job(which is always a plus to see)! I recommend the cappuccino, but I’m sure just about every other coffee combination would work for this place.

Remarkably unique set-up, remarkably unique coffee. When I visited Beware Coffee they were sort of a semi-permanent fixture at the Spider House, with the barista working out of a food truck get-up smack dab in the middle of Spider Café next to the center stage. The guy was spinning smooth jams out of what I thought was his record player, which later turned out to be one of those mixing stations hooked up to a MacBook, but I digress. Even with the limited space, he ground up some fresh beans, took some meticulously measured boiling water and squeezed out one of the freshest cups of aeropressed coffee I’ve had in my life thus far, alleviating the horrible hangover I was experiencing from drinking too much at the Spider House the night before. Perhaps it’s just the Austin atmosphere that makes this place great, but you really have to experience it to experience the ridiculous vibe of what it’s like to have an expertly brewed cup of coffee served to you from a small window of a food truck that has some guy moonlighting as a DJ. It’s all so outrageously ridiculous and outrageously Austin all at once.

If you’re in for some sightseeing and looking for hidden quirks Austin is known for, this is a must-stop place for coffee!!!(Or just stop by, they also have a separate non-coffee menu looking equally as good) The first thing I saw when I arrived following gps was a big tent and a trailer… With some worn out tables… For some reason though, it looked in place with the graffiti wall and the colorful Spider House next door. Once I was inside the tent, a very nice barista greeted me and personally made my drink after taking my order. Also, bonus points for the beautiful latte art! I ordered their signature drink, Sweet Fantasy. To be honest, I never tried coconut milk before, let alone with coffee, so I was a little hesitant to try. But that hesitation instantly disappeared as soon as I took the first sip. You’re first greeted with smooth classic latte taste, then followed by this warm sweet nutty flavor that was not overpowering, but just enough to compliment the espresso. It was the perfect drink for the cool December afternoon!!! So glad I got to stop by before leaving Austin! :)

Instantly my favorite coffee shop in Austin even though this was my first stop. It was well brewed, with a great atmosphere, and one of the nicest service I’ve had in a long while from a coffee shop. Simple, short menu that covers all the basics, with a non-coffee menu such as the ginger lime fizz which I was tempted to get as well — but I stuck with the coffee. And deciding to go with their creative menu(after all, there’s only so many ways you can make a single cappuccino anywhere lol). So I ordered the Fantasy Sweet, which consists of an espresso, coconut oil, honey, steamed milk. And what I got was a velvety, bold coffee with the sweetened overtones from honey and coconut oil — and beautifully decorated. I would order this again, and anything else on their menu again since I could even tell from all this combination that the coffee is made extremely well. Will be back — and the cute food truck /tent ambience(doubled by the Spider House hippie vibe next door) doesn’t hurt as well.

Beware Coffee is a modest food truck establishment that sits outside of Spiderhouse. The staff is very friendly and accommodating; I have never had a poor experience at Beware. They are always quick to take your order and provide really great service– on my to go order they even put the lid on a plate for me to put on myself after taking a picture of the beautiful latte art. They also make an effort to get to know their customers and ask how their days are going! They have really unique flavor choices– if you like coconut you’ll like the fantasy sweet. It’s also really good iced! Their iced lattes are some of my favorite. The people at beware really know what they’re doing so if you want a real espresso beverage it’s the place to go! Personally for me though, just a plain old hot latte is perfect. I’ve also tried the vanilla and ginger latte — the ginger latte has a super powerful flavor but I like it a lot! The only bad thing about Beware is that they aren’t open all week! So you’ll have to look elsewhere for your Monday morning pick up.

I’m absolutely enamored with Beware. I haven’t branched out from getting lattes, because they will steam your sugar into the milk(if you’ve never done this, it’s a game changer). The espresso is smooth and balanced. I appreciate simple latte art(because I’m going to drink it, not stare at it) and they’re super subtle about making your drink beautiful but not over the top. It’s the little things, you know? Also, Braxton and Natasha are the nicest people and you can tell that they put their hearts into this business and their product. I moved to a different part of town and haven’t been a regular for several months. I miss them!

A large brown frayed canvas camping tent in a random parking lot had a flea market feel, that shifted to homeless shanty, then hippy stoner harambe, but emerged as a coffee trailer, tucked inside, with bright, pretty, clean and friendly young baristas who served us with fast efficiency. «Do you have drip coffee?» I sleepily queried. «It’s aeropress.» The handsome young man informatively replied with no pretension. Hands repetitively clapped in my monkey brain as he deftly poured hot milk into my friends cappuccino with a hand gestured undulating wave that revealed an artful milk laced mandala design on top of a light brown coffee. «Did you use a stick to make that?» I large eyed. «No.» He said with a matter of fact humbleness. This is my kind of Austin. Underneath quiet shade trees near the park on 29th street and Guadalupe, where one night 25 years ago we wondered, in a stoners perplexity, if the pink dusk in the sky was an ominous supernatural illumination from a taco cabana. We sat on a park bench and discussed art, which the coffee added a superb heavenly stimulus accompaniment. $ 6 for 2 delicious coffees. Wonderful Grafitti mural on the building adjacent to the parking lot. If you get hungry, Spider House is right next door. The pink illumination we had witnessed years ago, as I see it now, was indeed a sign of Austin’s insidious commercial development, but thankfully authentic Austin places in keeping with its magical soul, like this brew house have survived and outlasted such disastrous occurrences of the City’s ironic success.
