Went to this food park yesterday with my bf, drank beer, ate the shawarma, and watched the Ultimate Fighter on a projector screen. I got the shawarma plate, next time I’m gonna just get the sandwich. Rose Lemonade brought my boyfriend to tears. Baba ganoush was pretty good. Fries were alright. I’m gonna go back cause the prices are fair. Another good truck in that park is Gemma Love Jamaican food. Halal bros is better than this place :(But i support this guy. Yay Beirut go eat there.

The BEST and most fresh items, whatever you remember from your trips, it’s here and good. Feeling a bit low? Be sure to get a double order of tabbouleh to strengthen your blood. Really reasonable prices and the simple and delicious food of that complicated city.

While ordering at the counter they dropped the spatula on the ground, picked it up, and tried using it again. Ordered for four people. Two peoples orders came out about 20 minutes later. Chicken in shish-taouk over cooked and dry. Tabbouleh and hummus mediocre. The order for the other two in our party got lost. When it finally came out another 20 minutes it fell into the same category as the rest — very mediocre. And we had another friend show up and he ordered baba ghanoush, which they had just told us they were out of.

The wife and I visited Austin and this was a quick stop on our way. She had the felafel sandwich and I had beef shawarma sandwich. The first thing I noticed was how authentic the flavors were. This isn’t a toned down or modified version — it tasted really authentic. Owner was awesome and super friendly too! Highly recommended!

I’ve been looking for good falafel and other Middle Eastern fare in Austin, now that I no longer have my beloved Oasis to head to when the craving starts. I’ve had a few decent contenders, but nothing has really hit the spot. Beirut still can’t quite match Oasis(don’t feel bad, nothing can), but it serves up some pretty decent fried fava bean patties. When I ventured to this quaint food truck, in a lot n Jessie Road with Unity Vegan and others, they had a vegetarian plate on special. Seeing how I also wanted to try the hummus and baba, both of which were included in the plate, it sounded like a great option. The falafel, my main attraction, was huge, for one. The patties were sort of dome sharped with a flat bottom. The exterior had a great crunch, and the interior looked pretty green and herby, a very good sign. Flavor-wise, however, there could have been more. Either salt, acid, or actually herb flavor was missing; but the patties were respectable in taste. On their own, they may have been a bit dry for my tastes, but it was great when joining it with the accompanying hummus or baba. Both dips had great flavor; I’ve had too much hummus that just tastes like tahini, but this spread was lemony and great. The baba was not too strong on roasted eggplant flavor, which could be good or bad depending on how you like it. The tabbouleh was very enjoyable, with lots of lemon and bright parsley and mint flavors. The pita, the medium for all of the above together, was acceptable. For a food truck, I suppose you can’t also ask for puffy, soft bread. It was of the flat, listless variety. But, again, as primarily a medium for everything else, it served its purpose. The owner was a very nice man, busy with what appeared to be an arrest taking place of some young man attempting to break into another food truck. Scandalous, but not actually very dramatic.(Maybe I just watch too much TV or read too many case files.) In any event, I enjoyed my lunch. And for only $ 9, I’d happily come back for a quick falafel fix.

Best falafel I have ever eaten. Super generous with their lunch sampler special, even threw in more falafel to share with the table. I literally bowed down to them in celebration of their culinary mastery. Yeah, I’m that guy. Keep it up, guys!

Oh yah! This food was very good. Word to the wise: call before going to make sure they are open. If it’s not busy, sometimes they close early on weekdays and they don’t have posted hours. Had the shwarma plate with a side of tabouleh and baba ghanouj which were super tasty yummy town. A main dish with two sides is $ 10, so pretty worth it I’d say. Will definitely return.

Good falafels and tabouli. Would go back but not seek them out. Still in search for the best falafel in town. Not great but definitely not the worst.

We tried a number of items and I would say the Shawarma and the Baba-Ganouj are the best. There is a parking lot next to them so you don’t have to pay street parking. The toilets are portable. Shaded tables. Great food truck.

It’s hard to find authentic Middle Eastern food in this town since everywhere seems to dumb down the flavors. Not this place. Meat quality — amazing Flavors — bold and delicious Service — quick and friendly Highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys eating. Only downside is that if you go late in the evening, they tend to be out of side items like Baba Ghanoush(spell check?).

Having been to Lebanon, probably the most authentic Lebanese style Middle Eastern food in town. The falafel is really good, and the hummus and tabouleh is super fresh. Great location, very relaxed, and friendly staff, especially the head chef, Adnan. Reasonably priced!

Oct 2014: Shish-Tawook is as good as it gets. What do you do if you’re in Austin and it’s about 10pm? No car and not sure if places around is open. Luckily my handy dandy Unilocal app told me there’s food near me. Alright so let me describe the scene. We walk across the street, there was lights strung from one side to the other. We see about three to four food trucks and some other types of trucks. There was a live band and only about a few people sitting around listening. The whole area was new to me. Tables in the middle surrounded by trucks. One truck was a barber shop. The other was italian ice. I’m used to the trucks that rolls around from town to town. But these are stationed here all day every day. People brought their own beer and wine and pretty much just enjoyed the food and the free music show. So we walked up to Beirut. I was thinking okay this place is like Mediterranean ish. So of course first thing I saw was the wraps. We end up ordering the Chicken with pita and it was called the Shish Tawook. I’m not sure what the chef did but this was super delicious. I was amazed with the flavoring and the juiciness flowing from the chicken. The next day I was definitely up for eating it again. But guess what? Because of ACL they took off the menu. I was bit sad about that, but hey at least I got to try it the first time around.

Fantastic, no-frills middle eastern food! I usually get the Schwarma(which is made of beef) plate with rice and«double-baba». The meat is incredibly flavorful and the sauce, tomatoes, and rice all mix together in a wondrous rich flavor. The baba is also excellent. This is definitely among the best Schwarma I’ve ever tasted. For $ 10 the portion is generous. You can even go the no-carb route and do it with greens instead of rice. The employees have been friendly every time I’ve gone and the food truck complex is really cool with some other great places there and an outdoor TV playing sports games.

A credible lebanese food truck. The star of the show is the falafel which is truly superior. The falafels here are large and have an excellent crust on the outside. The inside is well textured and tasty. Ask for salt. They need it. Side dishes are utility. Servings are huge.

Food was certainly proper, just not my thing. The guys were great and friendly and the prices reasonable. Just happened to be out looking for food trucks that night and tried them out.

I visited Beirut as part of Austin’s Truck and Trailer food festival, Truck By TruckWest. I found everything about this trailer to be friendly, inviting and authentic. The food was generously portioned and very good. Every bite was authentic Lebanese street food through and through. My friends and I tried three different menu items and shared. Each dish was hot and tasty with rich, succulent meaty flavor and bold sauces. I felt like I could have just been walking along the Corniche and stopped at an open-air restaurant in a nearby souk. Even the other patrons, sitting and enjoying conversation and fine imported cigars were true to the Lebanese experience. I spoke with two gentlemen who advised me on the authenticity and quality of the food I was having and talked about their homeland. It was awesome in every way. The son of the chef was a cool, American young man with his feet in two lands and his father was a proud and excellent countryman with a great love of his food and a fantastic attitude even late at the end of the day. Please come here for the fantastic Shawarma and kebab. This is a wonderful stop for an excellent meal in the true, proud tradition of the Paris of the East!

This is any easy five stars because it satisfies my main criteria for grading a dining experience: scrumptious food, spot-on service and a pleasant environment.(This place actually goes a step further on the last area because it’s in the South Austin Social, which holds all kinds of cultural and community-building events based on the local community and the cultures represented in its food trucks. e.g.: a few weeks back they hosted a Middle Eastern Belly Dance Show/Party.) But back to the first criteria: the falafel, tabbouleh, and baba ghannouj(sp?) are as good or better than any I’ve ever had – they always fry the falafel fresh on the spot(the way it’s meant to be), so order some of the tabbouleh, hummus, or baba if you’re famished. If you don’t like those things, I don’t know what you’re looking for in Lebanese food. Oh yeah, and the salad has Lebanese pickles on it – if you’re a pickle-lover, this is tantalizing. If not, now you know to have em hold em. Clearly I could go on and on about this, so I’ll let you do the exploring from here. The guys who run the place are as nice or nicer than anyone I’ve ever met. Their heart is in the food and making sure everything’s the way you want it, and it shows. Bravo to Beirut! See you again soon!

I love middle eastern food and am happy to live in a town with a few good choices. I am proud to write the first review for this restaurant, because I just had the most wonderful meal. Wonderful schwarma and tabouli under the Texas stars. Then, because a lot is not enough, a huge bowl of humus with pita. The quality is great, and the food is handmade in front of you while you wait. The owners are authentic, friendly, and eager to share their cuisine. I will be back again and again and I’m happy to have this in my neighborhood.
