Austin Turf Grass Company

This place has decent grass but the woman in the office needs to learn some customer service. I have many buddies in the landscape industry who say the same thing and don’t want to do business with her. King Ranch turf grass isn’t far. I will stick with them for now on. I don’t tolerate being talked to like a fool.

We just planted three pallets of the grass. While two of the pallets were great, the third one was about half lost to us. I took some pictures and called them to see if they would agree to a partial refund. The lady on the phone appears to deal with this on a regular basis, because she just completely blew me off with «that’s just what happens».
Maybe it is what happens, but I still find it pretty unacceptable. The grass pieces just crumbled and were completely soaked, plus the grass itself looked terrible. She assured me it would grow back, but I had already tossed it. When each piece of sod crumbles into many small pieces, it would have been a nightmare to stitch it back together and just wasn’t worth it. I understand that they just arrange the delivery from the sod farm, but if that’s the case then I should expect the sod farm not to sell the dregs of the cutting/​harvesting operation to customers. In the end, placing the blame on the sod farm does nothing to help me. Maybe that’s par for the course when purchasing sod, but it was certainly new for me and I’ve had the back yard of two houses sodded prior to this experience.

We needed a few squares of grass for the yard. Austin Turf Grass had the best pricing and friendly employees. They even loaded it for us. Would definitely use them again.

Did some research, and decided on using ATGC to purchase a single pallet of St. Augustine sod to revitalize our lawn which had been infected with patch mold.
Sod was delivered the very next day before noon.
I can’t say enough good things about the quality of the sod. Very fresh and healthy, no fire ants, and after 4 days of watering, the sod has began to shoot runners into the soil.
Another note is that NONE of the squares have died in the process. Still have a yard full of fresh, healthy sod.
I’d recommend these folks to anyone needing sod, soil, or grass for their landscaping projects. We will be repeat customers for sure!
