Frist of all the lady behind the window are no good, she told me the police officer given wrong information, i couldn’t believe what she saying to me, so i said out loudly you tell me the police officer given wrong information, she said yes! so hopefully the police officer behind the police station glass could hear how ignorant she is, i payed my fee, i ask where to take dd, she told me to Goole it. How Rude!

The ladies in the window will sit there and bs with a customer lacking common sense about getting tickets continuously for not regeristing her car, and then tell me they’re closed one min early and cant take my payment, while continueing to bs with that customer.
Horrible customer service, had an easy peasy fine to pay, what like the county doesnt want my $$ ??

Had to pay a fee for a ticket. Basically it’s like going to «court» but you just deal with everything at a window. The ladies there don’t take any BS or missing documents so if you come up to them looking like you haven’t a clue, they wont help you. Luckily I had my paperwork and was in and out really quick.

Had to go here to sign up for defensive driving and pay my fee. The parking sucks so bad! I got really lucky on my second run through the parking lot when someone pulled out of a front spot. Felt bad for the cars behind me and pretty sure they ended up parking arcross the street.
The line wasn’t too long with 2 other people in front of me. I felt bad for one of the cashier ladies for getting screamed at by a guy who forgot his drivers license and refused to drive home and get it. People, huh?
The lady that helped me wasn’t friendly but wasn’t rude either. My guess is she was just tired and ready to go home. I didn’t appreciate the extra wait time for both cashiers to stop and talk about the guy from earlier as he stormed out of the building. Yes, I said both cashiers because there are only 2! So go and expect a wait. Luckily I checked out the web address on the back of my ticket to look up what I needed to have to sign up for defensive driving. — The ticket, ID, and proof of insurance and I was able to pay with my debit even though I had my checkbook handy.
I was able to take care of everything I needed to take care of in about 25mins, so about the time I was expecting.

I phoned in to report a threatening phone call this afternoon. Some guy screaming he’s going to kill me & he know’s where I live. Three officers arrived three hours later. I had my porch light on & invited them in but they declined. I told them I had no weapons on me when ask. I guess what really surprised me was when they ask to «pat me down». I submitted but I’ve been asking myself what triggered a search request. Seems like an odd policy when someone is reporting a threatening phone call. The officers were nice enough but would they have searched a woman reporting a threatening call?

The light at Lamplight Village has been out twice now in a week. I saw an ambulance take 20 minutes to get thru the traffic. I took me about an hour to get from Parmer /​35 to Parmer /​Lamplight. Why cant the police ever be helpful? They cant come out and direct traffic and HELP for once?

I arrived about 11:30 am on a Thursday to handle a speeding ticket. Make sure to bring your ID and proof of insurance. Was in and out in about 15 minutes and was able to pay using my debit card.

Showed up to file an auto break in and the officer was ready to take my information right away. I was in and out in 10 min with all my info taken. Very helpful. For being new to Austin, I was impressed!

Parking? A pain in the ass! I had to park on the street and walk down.
Customer service? Who you kidding? Chica was a bitcha!
Speed? You decide. It took me 45 minutes to deal with a speeding ticket.
Professionalism? I don’t think they know the definition.
Convenience? Of course. I live in the Rizzle.
Do I like being involved in the legal system? Fuck no, it’s a scam and could use a major overhaul.
Do I like being talked down to? Hell to the fuck no! Especially by some disgruntled clerk.
I need to go to DPS to get a copy of my driving record. Why? Am I not at a Police station? Plug me into the computer, I’m sure you can pull it up.

I have a list of Greatest Fears, a list that for the most part is set in stone, although some rankings are constantly in flux. But one thing is for certain: Cockroaches, Grey Aliens with a Kidnapping Streak, The Zombie Apocalypse, Policemen, and Tornadoes are always the top 5, with tornadoes moving up the list depending on the season (now, for instance, with Alabama, Joplin, and Oklahoma, they are #3).
So yes: police, cops, the fuzz, the popo… whatever you want to call them, they terrify me to no end, even though I’m a law-​abiding citizen and despite the fact one of my closest friends works in the profession. He knows I’m a close friend because I attended his graduation, set in a Baptist church and surrounded by hundreds of cops with guns. I haven’t sweat so much since a guided tour of a San Antonio Dollar Store. But I digress.
If you’ll recall, I received a ticket on 9^th Street during my Telefund debacle, and this time, I had to pay it. Usually I sign away the honors to my father, because I’m usually ticketed for leaving my car downtown and I use the excuse that he’s closer to the courthouse. After receiving a letter that threatened to put Kar on the official tow list, I decided not to play around with this ticket, and so made the journey to APD North Substation. My nerves were on overdrive, and even now, they’re still tapering off.
When you walk in, be prepared for a line snaking out the door, or absolutely no line at all. Wait times vary from zero to an hour, but they’re only open until 4:30, and it’s usually a cluster-​you-​know-​what right before the deadline. It’s a cell-​phone free zone, so do what I do and pass the time eavesdropping on everyone else in line or the people trying to pay tickets. Most of it is routine, but sometimes you’ll get to hear someone whose life sounds supremely more messed up than yours will ever be, and the $ 20 traffic ticket in your hand will be put into perspective.
The ladies behind the glass have no incentive to be nice to you, of course, so for the most part their demeanor runs the gamut from mildly bored to only slightly rude. Some people launch into lengthy explanations or feeble comedy routines, but I don’t think their expressions change in the slightest. Just shut up and pay your fines.
Today, I walked in and was helped immediately by Kamesha. Thankfully, I was informed I could pay my ticket using a debit card, as long as it had a recognizable logo. Always make sure to get the original citation stapled to a printed receipt for the glove box. Take it from an old pro. The process took (2) minutes at most. Do NOT expect this to be normal.
Randomly, as I was leaving, an older woman in a mumu stood squarely across the street, screaming bloody murder at the top of her lungs ostensibly at the police station: «G*D DAMN YOU! G*D F**KING DAMN YOU ALLLLLLLL!!!’ She proceeded to fling an empty beer box that narrowly missed Kar’s front tire, and then stormed off in a rage.
Lady, I know how you feel.
