Thank you Jennifer for your reply. Yes, I had color done by someone else who was licensed to do hair. That’s not the issue as that was only a highlight. You told me you knew how to do Ombré and in fact you had no clue. You left me in the styling chair with bleach on my hair as you went back and ate your lunch. I had to have the receptionist go and get you and I could hear a bubbling and could sense that you needed to check my hair. Well it was too late. You burnt a fist size area of hair of the back of my head and didn’t tell me, knowing you had done so during the blow dry. I even tipped your ass. In reality, you may be ok at cutting hair but your skills in color are non existent. Don’t tell customers you can do things that are beyond your skill set. You are LUCKY I didn’t sue you. You are lucky I took pity on you and your 4kids. You messed up and you still won’t OWN it. Sad for you and your business.

Jennifer is a very personable and competent stylist. She knows just what to do with my challenging hair texture and is quick and efficient so I can get on with my day. Very reasonably priced as well!

I was not happy with my haircut at all. Was in the search of a good hair salon that I could go regularly, but unfortunately this is not it.

I love my haircut! Jennifer did a fantastic job. I’ll definitely be going back! Plus– chatting with her was fun, too.

My Original Review that I posted on LivingSocial: «For starters, the name of the place isn’t Austin Hair Architect, it’s located inside of another business with a separate title. So it was a little difficult to find. The LS Deal was for Shampoo, Conditioning, Partial Highlights, and Cut. As soon as I sat down I was told it would be $ 20 extra to cover the ‘toner’ which I apparently needed because my hair was dark(light brown) and wouldn’t take to the highlighting. Apparently, my friend who has blonde hair also had to pay $ 20 for toner. This is classic bait and switch and was totally lame in my opinion. The cut took all of 5 minutes or less and was definitely not worth the $ 45 they charge regularly. The highlighting came out OK, I’ve seen some mistakes since I’ve had a few days, but it is OK. Whatever products they are using left my hair super oily, even after a regular shampooing the next day. Overall, was this deal worth the $ 65(x2) I paid? Hrm, I guess, barely, not really at all once you incorporate tip. I do not recommend this place.» Anyway, Jennifer apparently did not like my review and decided it would be a good idea to send me a text message stating her displeasure with my review. You can see a screenshot of her message at: Aside from it being totally unprofessional to send me a text message because I posted a bad review, she chose to mis-gender my name on purpose. I’m a transsexual btw, and Patrick is clearly not my name. Her choice to mis-gender me is anti-trans behavior, unprofessional, and straight-up juvenile. To extrapolate further, she is apparently not LGBT friendly. I do not recommend Austin Hair Architect one bit. And you can read the other reviews, her performance is clearly not stellar.

I went to Jennifer awhile back to go from light blonde to dark brown. I only heard about her through the Craigslist ads she constantly posts and she was running a special for first time clients. She was running late from the previous appointment, but friendly once she finally got to me. Long story short, she kept adding on more and more dye to my hair claiming my hair just«wasn’t taking the color» and she charged me for each thing she put on my hair(without telling me she was adding more dye until the very end). Not only that, but she was texting on her phone 80% of the time which really annoyed me. I thought I was going in planning to spend around $ 100 and left spending $ 250 and unhappy and with auburn hair. I called her the next day to tell her i’d like a refund and not for her to try to «fix» my hair, but she had already rushed to the bank to cash my check so she unwilling to fork it back over which was fine and I didn’t fight it, but she wasn’t pleasant about it at all. I would never go to her again or suggest her to anyone I know.

Jennifer was very nice and was I able to schedule a next-day appointment with her, but the cut/color was sort of average for the price. I usually search for services like this when I move to a new area, which I recently did, so perhaps my expectations were a little too high based on the 5-star rating she had. I was hoping for a bit more technique with my layers and have had some great cuts, but this just wasn’t one. Although I wouldn’t necessarily not ever schedule another appointment with Jennifer, I am still looking for a permanent stylist(sigh).

When for a haircut because I heard Jennifer worked well with curly hair. After a long wait, I got a great haircut. She listened to what I wanted but shared her professional opinion as well. I was very pleased with my cut and style, and she gave me some free product to make up for the wait(it was like 30 minutes)!!! Very happy! I will definitely be back!

I’ve been afraid to let anyone cut my hair since moving here in July, but after reading all the great reviews Jennifer got, I decided I should give her a try. I am so glad I did. She listened to exactly what I wanted, made sure throughout the cut that I was happy with what she was doing, and gave me great suggestions on how to style my hair. She gave me an awesome scalp massage while washing and conditioning my hair. We did an all over color, and it turned out GREAT! She knows what she’s doing folks. The only time she used scissors to cut my hair was over the ear. The rest of the time, she used a razor and comb. I’ve never had anyone do that before. Not only did she give me a great cut, I had a great time hanging out with her for 2 hours. She’s very personable, fun to talk to, and the salon itself is very nice. It’s isn’t overly foo foo, but it’s higher end for sure. There are other services available there too. You can get a facial, laser hair removal, tattoo makeup, and other stuff too. All the girls that were there were super nice and fun. They’re also very honest… I was going to get my brows done after the cut, but after the girl got me on the table and looked, she suggested that I wait until I come in again because she said they looked thin. She said we need to wait so that she can get the arch in the right spot. She’ll never know how much I appreciated her honesty. She could’ve made a quick $ 20, but she had my best interest at heart, and that’s what keeps a girl coming back! I highly recommend Jennifer as well as everyone else there at the salon. One of the girls does tattoo makeup, and right now she’s doing a special. Brows are $ 250 and Brows w/Lips are $ 350 — she said that’s $ 100 off the normal price. Not sure if I’d ever be up for that just because I wonder what I’d do if I ever wanted to change my brow shape or color, but hey — just spreading the word. Go here and you will be totally satisfied! Way to go, Jennifer!

I went to see Jennifer for a fresh new style. I was feeling exceptionally«blah» after having my baby the year before and really needed a drastic change. She definitely heard what I was saying because she cut my hair short and I have had many compliments on it even when I just wash and run out of the house at 7 am! I can’t speak for her color expertise as I only had my hair cut.
