Great place to get some local beer. They have a deal where for $ 10 you get a take home brewery pint glass and three fills. What was cool was that since they do not do flights (which I am a fan of) the bartender stated that I can get ½-​pours and get six fills instead of three so I can try more. I liked that. Staff was friendly and willing to talk with you even though the place the slammed and rocking with people. The only negative I got to say is that finding the place was a little hard, especially someone not from Austin. It was located in the back of the lot which you had to walk down a parking lot area and swing around back. But other then that, it is a place I would not mind walking back into if I make it back to Austin again.

Best brewery deal I have found! For $ 10, you get a brewery pint glass and 3 fills. I usually bring a dollar cash for each fill to tip the bartender. (Also, a couple of the higher ABV beers are a half pours, which is generally more loosely defined for tippers.)
The beer is consistently good, there is a food truck if you’re hungry, and the bartenders are prompt and very friendly.
The tasting room is in the back so it’s a little tricky to find. You’ll know it when you see it though. There is indoor and outdoor seating. (Indoor meaning under cover but in the warehouse, so you should still dress for the outdoor temperature.)

You are going to have a good time. For only 10 dls you get to keep your pint glass with 3 refills, a pretty good deal. The place has a food truck outside with picnic tables and you can take your dog. The peacemaker is really good and perfect for someone who Is looking for a blonde flavor. You also want to try their pumpkin beer is amazing but only available on the holiday season.

An awesome place with fantastic beer. This is one of the places that is an absolute must when we have guests in town. It’s a true slice of Austin with a great cross-​section of the population brought together over a pint of GREAT beer. As has been mentioned ad-​nauseum, $ 10 gets you a pint glass (rotates) and 3 beer. It’s a great deal and is an added bonus for a pint-​collector like me.
Also, they have great food-​trucks on site and a vastly expanded seating area since the newest re-​design. Dog friendly as long as your dogs can handle large crowds and the occasional screaming child.
Always impressed with the quality of the beer (every heavy machinery rocks my socks off) and the fantastic atmosphere provided by this brewery.

Austin Beerworks is great for groups– there are tons of tables and lots of space (especially open space, so you don’t feel cramped or squished). There are food trucks outside and sometimes live music as well.
They have a nice selection of beers, with at lease a few IPAs or hoppier options. I was pleasantly surprised by the Choco Leche, their chocolate stout. A bit on the sweeter side.
We also tried Sputnik, the new coffee oatmeal stout, which had a nice tang to it. Both were quite easy to drink, and a nice dessert for the evening. I tasted the peacemaker as well, and can definitely imagine drinking this one sitting outside on a summer evening.

Showed up at 5:40 to find out they were closing at 6pm instead of 7pm. The website says 7pm as does Unilocal.If you are knowingly going to close early maybe you should put out that information so I don’t spend an extra half hour driving too and from while I’m visiting Austin for a short weekend. Thanks for nothing!
Also, they took all of the toilet paper and paper towels out of their bathroom. DISGUSTING!

This place just makes me smile :) The staff is hilarious and knowledgeable and the beer is great. I loved how big the beer selection was. The concept of getting to try a few beers and keep the pint glass is fun. I was only able to try a couple beers so I can’t wait to go back and use my other token!

First time stopping in the tap room. Great beer with special drafts only available here! $ 10 gets you an awesome glass that you can fill three times. There’s a rotating food truck so you’ve got access to dinner as well. A great spot for a couples beers and a bite with your buds!

Best brewery and best beer in Austin. Having been to over 200 breweries, top 5. Go and enjoy delicious beers. $ 4 pints or $ 20 for 3 pours plus glass. Living in Illinois I wish there were more breweries like this. Great beer and positive karma. They have not let success get to their heads.

This place gets very packed and understandably so! $ 10 keep the glass for 3 pints cannot be beat.
It’s also pretty hilarious as their décor is out of the world, very bright and in your face. Plus, a samurai outfit made out of their beer cans? Pretty great.
I really like the whole keep the glass concept and I think Austin Beerworks does it well because they rotate different types of pint glasses, so it really feels like collectibles as opposed to getting the same pint glass each time.
Their IPAs are solid and the super chill vibes make this a fun place to visit. Also seems like a fun place to work at. Great folks here.

I am actually really starting to get annoyed by breweries that force you into a pint with several chips for other pints for a flat rate (plus you have to take the damn glass home) instead of offering tasters.
I am not sure why this is a trend, or why many Texas breweries see to do this (as was the case in Houston …) but I don’t really think it’s a great way to showcase the brewery. Some people may want to try all of the beers before settling in on one, it’s true they let you taste it before you commit to a pint but still this is just a bit annoying I think when you want to check out all that a brewery has to offer.
My favorite here was probably the Lotion & Peacemaker beers as well as their delicious Pumpkin Spiced Ale which I’m normally not into. Great beers, just wish they did tasters!

Great atmosphere. Went for tasting hour. $ 10 for a glass that shaped like a beer can and 3 drinks. Small patio area but very un-​touristy. (Which we love the most.) cool place to check out that is out of the normal touristy location.

I love these warehouses that include an amazing beer beginning.
I am hoping more places that choose to make lovely beer head to the northern skirts of town soon. We sure have a lot of them.
Great folks that serve beer and food in the lot. Fun folks al around and a glass to take home!

It’s like a 4.5 for me, but let’s talk about the pros first.
Pro: Good drink deal. $ 10 gets you a glass you can take home plus 3 beers.
They have a great selection of their beers from classics to new seasonal beers.
You can get your beers very quickly.
Con: There can be limited seating, and the seating can be a little cramped.
Note (neither a pro or con): They don’t serve food there, but there is a food truck right outside. Also, it can be tricky to find if you don’t know where you are going.

Austin Beerworks beer is certainly good. It’s been fun watching these guys go from a group of fellows brewing and trying to locally distribute beer to what appears to be a fairly high volume facility.
You can visit and drink in this facility. That’s a lot of fun. For $ 10, you get three tokens. One for the vessel of the moment with a beer in it, and two tokens for more beer. We showed up at 9:30 on a Friday night and the place was bumping. Plenty of folks hanging out having fun, drinking, and talking.
When I go next, I hope I remember to bring a camp chair because that would be my only gripe. I need a seat, and seating was at a premium. There is a food truck on site which varies. They also sell a lot of different ABW branded stuff, if that’s something that appeals to you.

Visited this past Saturday. I’m going to chalk up this visit’s disappointments mostly towards the 100 °F heat outside, the 95 °F inside, the massive amounts of flies and the single ceiling fan inside trying to keep customers cool. And I’ll have to mention the fishy odor and the disabled fan high up next to one of the boilers work areas that was caked in dust and dirt.
That’s disgusting. You don’t have to clean it. It costs $ 25 at Wallgreens to replace it.
Staff was friendly, knowledgable albeit somewhat condescending towards the process in which samples are procured. Chalk it up to the heat again?
And it was packed with people inside and out at 5:30pm. Ample parking!
Beers were good though. I was happily surprised by the sour wheat Einhorn. Sour and tart with nearly zero IBV.
Sipping it in the high heat and looking at the fan though…

Saturday afternoon tasting was a ton of fun. Standard «10 bucks gets you a glass and three pints».
We sat outside until the heavens opened up, people-​watched and drank our beers happily.
Gotta love all the local craft breweries in town, and ABW holds their own.

This is probably our go-​to brewery so far. The whole $ 10 for 3 pints and keep the glass deal is amazeballs. Every time I’ve been here, they’ve had different designs on the glasses. The boyfriend has accumulated about 5 different ones, and some aren’t even standard pint glasses. Plus, if you’re a lightweight like me and can only handle a beer or two at a time, you can keep your tokens and use them next time. They’ll also do half pours if you ask.
Just don’t expect to get pampered here. It gets crowded and hot — most people end up sitting or standing outside. There are a couple of porta potties outside for when nature calls. But hey, they have very cold water to keep you hydrated and cool, and the mainstay beers and many of the rotating/​seasonals are good.
Although the heat is not fun, the atmosphere here is. There are some quirky decorations (I love the unicorn poster), lots of merch, and you’re likely to see at least a couple of dogs chillin’ outside. It just seems to embody much of the spirit of Austin.

Finally, after years and years of hearing there is a brewery in north Austin, I found Austin Beerworks! And as hard of the quest was to discover this place, I found once I was there, the trek was worth it.
As suggested, it is in a difficult location. Surrounded literally by plain white office/​warehouse buildings, you will find ABW. Basically, if you can find the coca-​cola building, look straight out and walk forward, you will eventually run right into ABW.
The beer here is good. Not so much maybe for fans of lighter variety beers, but for sure for those into hops, grain, and other funky hipster craft beer combinations. The best part is amongst the vast variety of beers they offer, you can taste THREE FULL PINT glasses AND keep the glass for only $ 10!!! Seriously, that is amazing.
The bathroom situation sucks though. Only two. And the lines will get long. I mean when you offer beer that cheap, how can you not expect the bathroom lines to be full. I hope they add more in the future… I mean it does cut away from revenue if you’re spending all your time in the bathroom line.

Great brewery, though it could definitely use more signage. Austin Beerworks is well hidden, you have no idea it’s there, even once you’ve turned onto the road it’s located on. My only clue I was on the right track was the occasional group of people stumbling out from the bowels of the industrial park.
Once you finally make it in (and the place is typically packed), there’s no signage directing you where to go. Wait in line 10 minutes to get beer? Sorry, you needed to wait in the other line.
No, not that one. The one WAAAYY in the back where you buy tokens. Why tokens? is this Chuck E Cheese? Why can’t I just buy a beer like a grown ass man? Supposedly you get a souvenir glass, though they were «out» of them on my first visit. They gave me a small ticket that I’m supposed to miraculously keep track of. Right.
But the beer is good, the vibe is right, and Austin Beerworks is way closer than Jester King.
