I found Lecia through a recommendation from a friend who hired Lecia for her own wedding and I am so glad I did! After speaking with Lecia on the phone, I could tell she was someone I would want to have around while getting ready for the biggest day of my life! She had so much energy and a big personality which I loved.
After sending Lecia a few pictures of makeup and hairstyles I liked, I went to Russ & Co. for my trial run/​bridal portrait hair & makeup. I was so happy with the results! She asked me for details about my dress, flowers, colors, etc. so that she could have an idea of what makeup would look best and made me look gorgeous. I especially loved the airbrush makeup. I had never used it before and it made my skin look so smooth and not at all cakey or overdone.
Lecia was so much fun to have around on my wedding day! She and Deborah showed up ready to do hair and make up for me and my 5 bridesmaids. They kept us all on schedule and had a ton of fun singing along to our wedding day playlist. After seeing how great of a job they did on me and the girls, a few other people asked if Lecia & Deborah could squeeze them in and they got it done without a problem. We were all pretty and ready to go when our limo arrived.
I felt so pretty on my wedding day all thanks to Lecia. And my hair stayed in place through all my crazy dancing, which was my top priority ;-) Thanks so much Lecia and Deborah! You ladies are the best!

Lecia and Crew were fantastic on my wedding day! Sometimes crazy things happen (especially in the wedding world) and Lecia got stuck a little longer with another bride causing her to run a little late. Because they are always prepared, there were 2 other stylist prepped and ready at my hotel room at the time promised. Lecia got there as soon as she could and between the 3 of them, they did 8 hair styles and 9 makeups with plenty time to spare. And most importantly, my hair and makeup turned out more beautiful than what I had anticipated!

Love what Lecia Bates Harkins does with makeup! She has such wonderful creativity. It’s a great experience to sit in her chair! I am completely satisfied with her work.

Lecia Harkins has done my makeup for two fashion shows so far, and each time she’s blown me away by what she’s done for me and our group of models! Lecia is a truly talented and incredibly creative makeup artist– she steps back to assess your face, and before you know it she’s accentuated your best features with her quick and careful application. I’m really amazed at how she handles a big group of people and how she takes the time to make us each look so beautiful, unique and special.
But talent aside, maybe the best part about working with Lecia in these fashion shows is her super friendly demeanor. In my short but sweet experience modeling thus far, I’ve found that the pre-​show period is a flurry of hair, makeup, touchups, fitting, etc. Given the chance, I could see how it could definitely get out of control, but this never happens. Lecia takes care of business in what can be a somewhat stressful situation, and she does it all with a smile, which makes everyone feel better!
You can’t help but worry, vainly, about what you might look like when you’re getting your makeup done. With Lecia, I feel completely at ease because I know I’ll leave looking and feeling gorgeous!
