It’s sunday morning at 7:30am and I just shut my back door with my keys staring me in the face thru the window of the door. My kids are like that’s the keys in there Mom. Are we still going to the park? My husband is like … that’s my keys, cell phone and COFFEE you just locked in there. I am thinking why am I leaving the house this early at all! Luckily, I have awesome nice neighbors who will temporarily house us and let me call someone to handle the situation. They got someone to my house within 30 minutes. It took him 30 more minutes to try to pick the lock, and then he just had to drill it out, which was no easy task due to the metals the lock was made from. We installed too high end of a lock in a door with a window. Not going to do that again. In the end, he got us in and life was back to normal. They accept Cash or Credit only. No checks.

This Sunday morning I woke up around 10:00AM and wandered around my house aimlessly until I decided two things: 1. I needed breakfast 2. I needed to start a load of laundry before breakfast So, with those two major decisions made, I slipped on my flip flops and slunk outside(my laundry is in a closet that is carport adjacent) to do some warshing. I’m planning a delicious breakfast featuring milk and cereal and… milk. I reach for the front door and… it’s locked. So, there I am in my pajama’s which have pants that are about a foot too short for my legs and feature sheep jumping over fences. My hair is sticking straight in the air. I’m wearing silver sparkly flip flops and no bra. I knock on my neighbors door. He’s nice enough to let me call a locksmith on the phone so I pick the first one I come across in the phone book. It’s $ 39.00 for the technician to come out and anywhere from $ 15 and up to pop a lock. Okay, fine. She says they will have to call me before they come out, in case I find a way in. I say I don’t need a call, just come out. She gets rude about it. So, we wait and wait and wait. Me with my crazy hair and pj’s and him with his Chicago Cubs game. No one calls after 30 minutes. I call them and they’ve been trying to reach me. Finally I get someone on the line that agrees to come out without the call before. Guy shows up, measures my lock and then uses a crowbar looking thing to pop the door open. For this ninety seconds of service I pay $ 99.00. Yeah, so, don’t get locked out of your house. Keep a key hidden. Otherwise some hot looking hipster guy in red ostrich cowboy boots will charge you one large to crowbar your door open and will then tell you how he doesn’t charge that much and other people won’t even show up for less than $ 150.00.
