Wow! Just brought my car in with a flat. Called for an estimate for a new tire they were reasonably priced and very competent on the phone When I got there, they told me it was just a bad valve amd would only cost a few dollars to fix
Im from the West Coast and not used to tire shops actually looking out for my best interest instead of trying to make a sale.
Bottom line, just moved to Amarillo and this will be my tire shop from now on!

The guys at A to Z got me in and out quickly this afternoon after pulling out a huge screw that had caused a leak in one of my tires. They fixed it up and back on the road in no time at all!

They figured out why my tire would not stop leaking. And I had taken this tire to other shops with questions, and they wanted to overcharge me to replace the tires and not answer my questions. Plus they also offer an $ 80 plan that will rotate my tires every 6,000 miles and they’ll do repairs and replacements for free if I hit hazards on the road. Good deal Ya?
People were very nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They remembered me (from when I called the week before) and were able to promptly get the job done.

Having discovered a multitude of issues with my car, A to Z has been very helpful in diagnosing and repair. Their prices are great and they have fast service.

The reviews for this place live up to their statements. Purchased 4 new tires at a decent price and they were fantastic to work with. My car needed a slight alignment adjustment and they offered it for free.
To top it off they offered to check my battery when I mentioned my clock wasn’t keeping time. The battery failed so I purchased a new one to find out my cables weren’t long enough. They upgraded my battery to make sure I was taken cared for and didn’t charge me a penny more. Now that’s awesome customer service!
This is a hidden gem and I am now a customer for life!

I noticed a crack in my tire last fall and realized I was going to need a new tire. I checked prices at a bunch of different places, and A to Z Tire offered the best price. Everyone that I spoke to (on the phone and in the store) was extremely nice, and they got the new tire delivered from San Antonio and installed on my car in no time. The place is kind of in a bad part of town, but they offer a great price and great customer service. If I still lived in South Austin, I would definitely go back.

I was «turned on» to A To Z by a female friend who felt like they did not try to take advantage of her. I have been going there for over 15 years. You get service, you get it done right. As per an earlier post, NO, the waiting room is not like a room at the Waldorf. It is, afterall, a TIRE SHOP. Would much rather sit on a bench and wait for great service at GREAT prices than sit in the lap of luxury and get screwed over.

Great Service. Needed two new tires and they had what I needed at a reasonable price. Arrived at 11 on a Saturday morning and was in and out in about 15 minutes.

Two words: ABOVE and BEYOND!!!
Coming from Dallas where my Dad took care of all my car needs, I am so thankful to find a place that genuinely cares about my safety.
Big thanks to Dave! He once delivered a tire to me in San Antonio when a local Pep Boys had released me to drive on a spare that went flat after 2 miles! It was at the close of business on a Thursday and I would’ve been completely out of luck otherwise! Now THAT’S customer care! =)

The quick version: Professional, friendly, helpful, great prices, not trying to nickle and dime you for everything they do.
The long version: Got a flat tire this morning around 7:45am. Had to put the spare on and then figure out what to about my tire. Being the day after the 4^th of July, a lot of businesses were closed, but A to Z was open. Staff was friendly and professional on the phone when I called to ask if they could help (unlike some of the car places I ended up calling today — one of which admitted they were short-​staffed because the employees were too hungover to come to work after the 4^th).
Ultimately ended up with a new set of tires for half of the price and ¹⁄₃^rd of the wait time it took to get new tires from Sears on the other vehicle I own a few weeks ago. Everyone at this business was friendly and very helpful. They let me know that one of my wheels was damaged and gave me the names of a few salvage places to check out and the price range I could expect to pay at salvage (since I knew nothing about how to replace a wheel). Once I got the wheel, they put it on free of charge.
About 15 minutes after leaving, the handle on the driver’s side of the inside of my car randomly broke off. After making the second trip of the day to the salvage yard, I made my third trip of the day to A to Z and they fixed it for me, again for FREE.

I hate to swear but I SWEAR this is the best place in town for an oil change or tire service. Fast, CHEAP … not affordable, or inexpensive… CHEAP! I love it. I have now brought my car there on three difference occasions because the other players in town were to expensive or had a two hour wait, and this place fixed me up in no time and left money in the bank!

I’ve been to A to Z a few times for both trucks. They sell exceptional Toyo tires at a good price (I checked online first) & get me in/​out in a jiffy. I love that they’re not super busy like Discount Tires or NTB. I believe they mainly serve commercial shops vs. consumers so their lobby is not as ‘posh’ as their competitors. They’re not overly friendly, but need new tires? Go right over & it’ll get done quick. Need to get those tires balanced & rotated later? No problema. In & out relatively fast. If not for A to Z, I’d be waiting @ Sam’s.

I will never again go to NTB or any other tire retailer. I’ve been to A to Z tire on S. First twice now and I’ve been extremely satisfied.
The first time I went was when a lady hit my car and I had to have my car towed to A to Z late at night. She slashed my tire, threw my car out of alignment, and cracked my battery. The folks at A to Z were very nice and helpful. I went in the day after my car was towed and they told me they would check everything out and call me when they knew what needed to be done. They never pressured me into buying more than I needed, and offered a price on my tire, alignment, and battery which was MUCH lower than any of their competitors.
Today I went to A to Z because one of my tires seemed to be cracking. I first went to NTB because I had a warranty with them, but it was 3 days past the one-​year mark, and they wouldn’t replace it even for a discounted rate. A to Z offered me a new tire AND a LIFETIME road warranty for more than $ 60 less than NTB.
They’re always quick and friendly. I wouldn’t say that the waiting room is glamorous, but I’m not going for atmosphere, I’m going for a fair price on a new tire and quick service– and they totally deliver. It’s a plus that they’re just down the street from me, too, but even if they weren’t, I’d travel across town for the great deal and quick service they provide.
They don’t advertise since they wholesale to local tire places, so you won’t be getting any mailers or commercials from them, but you will save a ton on tires. I drive quite a bit, and having quality tires is important to me. Definitely give A to Z a try next time you need a new tire, you won’t be disappointed.

A to Z used to be a good place to buy tires, but either it’s this location or they’ve changed ownership. This location is in a marginal neighborhood, the staff are kind of grumpy, and the waiting area is not particularly hospitable. You may find it more pleasant waiting outside.
The Toyo tires they sold used to be great values with exceptional handling and excellent treadlife. The first set I got outlasted the vehicle they were mounted on.
Unfortunately, I got a bad set for another vehicle that were out of round, but I didn’t know what the problem was until there were more than 5,000 miles on the tires. Beyond that mileage, I was told that it must have been caused by mechanical issues, although the car had been checked thoroughly and there were none. A to Z refused to deal with the problem, even on a pro-​rated basis.
Once burned, twice learned. No particular reason to go here ever again since they don’t stand behind their product.
[UPDATE: 8÷18÷2012. I found it interesting to note that a representative of A to Z Tire & Battery finally responded to my review over four years later. All I can presume is that A to Z must have recently become «socially aware». The response contained a faint apology and zero opportunity for customer satisfaction – only an opportunity for more of the same. If I were you, I would ask myself: If I have a problem here, do I really want to wait four years to receive no resolution?]
