I wasn’t going to write a review initially but I feel that my experience would be very useful to someone else, so here it is. For the record, I have brought all of my issues to the attention of the owner so he is aware. At the time I was content with my decision and would have came back to the business but after speaking with other professionals and other computer technicians, I know now that I will never be back and will tell everyone else to not waste their time as well. First off, I called and asked how much it would be to get info/pictures from my computer but it would not turn on. When I got there, I told Tonya, that I was the one who called and I started filling out paperwork. Before her husband, Moses, even opened the computer or attempted to turn it on, he said it would be $ 80 to fix. I said ok. The issue with my computer was that it did not turn on and I did not want it fixed, I just wanted it to cut on so that I could retrieve my files. There were some cosmetic issues but those had been there and never affected the functioning of the computer. I dropped my computer off and went on my way. I received a call from his wife, stating that my computer needed a hard drive and it was $ 60. I asked her if this was in addition to the $ 80 quoted from her husband, she said yes. I go to pick up my laptop a few days later, I turned it on and all of my files were gone! No pictures of my daughter, no resume, no pictures of an accident I was recently in, none of my things were there. I called and was told the reason for this was because a new hard drive was installed. I hit the ceiling because although this is something I was made aware of, I did not know I would lose everything! I later told the owner that he was wrong for just assuming everyone that walks in his doors knows everything about computers! Also, when his wife called she should have told me that I would lose everything and at that point I would have told them to stop immediately and I would have took my laptop somewhere else. He told me that he could not retrieve my data. He told me later on that he did not even try because that is not what I asked for. He also said that I should have clearly stated what I wanted and that I never asked for my data to be retrieved. The lie is this: how do you know that my data could not be retrieved«due to physical damage of my hard drive», if you did not even try to retrieve my data, b/c I never asked for it? Like I told him, just because you do not know how to do something, does not mean it cannot be done. I was furious and I still am. I paid $ 150 to lose pictures and videos of my daughter from her birth on up until now, my resume, family documents, work documents, etc. I told him that I wanted my money back for the hard drive. He tried to give me $ 40, I told him that would not suffice because his wife told me it was $ 60. He then said it was $ 40 plus $ 20 for labor. Ok, so if that is the case why did I end up paying $ 150? I then asked for a receipt. CHECKTHISOUT: He showed me a receipt from 09÷10÷15. I dropped my laptop off to him around 09⁄01 and picked it up later that week. So how could you order a part for my laptop and put it on when it was in my possession??? After I brought it to his attention, he then admitted it was not the receipt from my hard drive but it was similar. So at this point in time he is still trying to fix his lie and says«it is what is it» and that I could go ask someone else because«everyone listens to the white man». Later on, he then said he installed Windows 7 on the laptop which is why it was able to turn on, which was $ 80. He eventually gave me the $ 60 back, but no, not all at once. I wanted all of my money back because in my mind it just doesn’t make any sense for me to pay money for a service that could not be completed the way I asked. When I asked for the $ 80 back for the«windows install» he said he could not return money for labor. What labor is involved in inserting a cd rom into a drive and following prompts? If there is any, it’s surely not $ 80 worth. I’ve been trying to buy black and support more black businesses but this is one I surely regret. I’m still thinking about taking him to court. I don’t care if I lost $ 2.00, $ 5.00, $ 12.00 or even $ 100. I work hard for mine and to be tricked out of it by someone I decided to do business with, is not cool. I will go to another business next time or just take my chances with a larger company at least I know I will get all of my money back next time and the communication will be much more thorough and professional. Also, he tried to blame everything on his wife by saying, he should have never let her call me and that she usually doesn’t talk to customers, she is usually in the office and she didn’t know this, that and the third. What a bunch of bs. Stay away from this place.

So basically, they quote you one thing, make you put down a deposit, and then tell you it’s going to be double after the work is done. The work on my computer did not happen on time. A friend of mine also went through the same thing where he was quoted one price, then he was called, and the price was doubled. After he put the deposit down. Its really sad. If you want what you were quoted GOSOMEWHEREELSE!!!

The Computer Guy 911 is great he was able to remove my virus on my laptop and I had it back in the same day. He also was able to repair my daughters laptop screen and upgrade her operating system. Very professional and polite workers.
