Wholly Cannoli Cafe

This authentic Sicilian family run restaurant is incredible. Fantastic food is served in generous portions by very personable staff in a lively family environment. Absolutely delicious, and they do wonderful catering for very large orders as well. We have gotten to know the extended family members and other staff and they always go above and beyond to delight.

This is in my opinion one of the worst restaurants I been too. They are slow, the place is not clean and when the owner comes out in his whites that look like they haven’t been washed in two weeks, not very appetizing. The food is average at best.

This restaurant was super cute, quiet, and the staff was very friendly. Our waiter was really nice and professional. The food, oh my goodness, amazing! The pasta is incredible, the toasted ravioli is outstanding, and the garlic bread is so good! I had no complaints at all!

We eat here a lot! Mostly take out, and it’s delicious! I am Italian and consider it authentic. I would say is very consistent. The Italian cookie selection is amazing as well! Highly recommend the chicken Parmesan and Caesar salad. My husband loves the pasta sauce. It’s busy, but the good places usually are!

Adorable family run restaurant. It’s a small place but they had our table ready when we got there. We had a big group of people but the waitress was amazing and quick and her daughter did an awesome job keeping our table clear and filling our water. The garlic knots are delicious and their salads were very fresh and tasty.
All our food came out hot and fresh and the servings were big enough to share. The desert was the best though. We all got something different and it was all delicious. They do takeout too so we’ll definitely do that in the future.
The place is small and fills up quick so make reservations or get here early. It is a family restaurant so there’s high schoolers working and it’s busy 90% of the time. If you’re expecting anything more than a yummy casual dinner you’re not going to be a fan. Otherwise it’s just like Italian home cooking with super sweet staff and a fun place.

AMAZING! Found this place on Unilocal while driving to DIA. Right off of E470. This is now our go to place when we come & go from Dia. Had pizza (the supreme & olive oil & garlic gluten free on the smaller one) antipasto salad & dessert. Everything and I mean everything was wonderful & delicious. Brittany our waitress couldn’t have been more perfect. Helpful with the menu & courteous beyond measure. The desserts were gorgeous & huge!!! We split the raspberry tiramisu & a chocolate puff pastry!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

I have yet to visit this place but they catered an event thrown by the management company in the building I used to work in.
They had this cake that blew my mind. Too bad I don’t remember the name of it. I’ll have to go visit to have some more then I will update my review.
They also provided cookies that were good.

Fabulous family owned Italian place. Must see.
Bakery is the real star of the show.

This restaurant was awesome! My wife ordered an Italian cream soda from Britney and both of us agree it was probably the ever. The food was really good too. Though the best part is their Italian pastries. This is now my go to Italian restaurant hands down.

The food is great if you don’t mind waiting a long time. but trust me it’s worth the wait

Pros: Great food and delicious desserts.
Cons: The restaurant was somewhat dirty. The cook cursed excessively. We could hear the cursing from our table.
I want this place to succeed because they have good food. However, they need to keep the restaurant cleaner, get rid of flies and not allow cook to curse when working.

First time here and already became my favorite place to eat! For the price, the meal portions are great and since it was our first time we tried the cannoli and loved it! Highly recommended.

I normally don’t post Unilocal reviews, but I really feel that everyone needs to understand how wonderful Tina and team are. We needed a caterer for our office for about 100 people for an important day and she was extremely organized and made herself available to me for an extra hand.
Now, the food. Omg. Fabulous and fresh, the cannoli and all other desserts… everyone who visited the office is still talking about them! I can’t wait to visit the restaurant on a date night because they make you feel like family at Wholly

I REALLY wanted to like this place… unfortunately the calzone I paid for and got back to my hotel room — I found was burnt all around the edges and it looked like parmesan cheese was slathered on to cover. I guess I should have looked in the box before leaving. I was able to eat the insides — spinach, cheese, added artichokes. I also took home a chocolate lobster tail that was decent, the mouse was frozen — I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like ice cream — but after it thawed out on my hotel dresser it was decent. The outside seemed dry and very crumbly. The chocolate on top was pretty rich and delicious like Nutella yum. I also took back two bowtie cookies which were pretty good as well. It looks like the place is doing okay, they are expanding from what the waitress told me — however I was literally the only on in the café at 4pm on a Wednesday. I don’t know, it seemed strange to not be at least one other person picking up dinner on the way home from work or something…
So basically the 3 stars are for the flavor of the lobster tail filling and topping and two cookies. The filling of the calzone also falls under the 3 stars — I really wish I could have enjoyed a not burnt crust (it was black! not just charred with flavor!)

This place is excellent! True Sicilian dishes. They make their own sausage, so you can imagine the time they spend making their food. Best Italian food in the Denver Metro area. Period.

Been ordering take out from here for over 2 years but this is the first time i am posting.
Last several take out orders we have had inconsistant service and food quality so felt it was time to post. Let me state that we order here because its the only non-​chain Italian restaurant that has take out near our home and at one point the service and quality of food were top notch. We kept hoping things will get better the next time we ordered but I think time has run out on this place. Food is not worth time or the $$$
Here is the run down:
Expensive (my last order was approx $ 65 for chicken parm, veal parm, kids spaghetti, 3 small deserts)
Food is good not great (used to be amazing)
Last few take out orders food, specifically pizzas are not hot but luke warm to cold
They tell you 15−20min to pick up but generally order is not ready and my avg wait time once i arrive is an additional 15 – 20 min
Desserts look sad and tired. (used to be amazing)
Restaurant looks dirty– tables not bussed quickly, food and crumbs on the floor, dessert fridge is grimy and dessert trays are all over the place.
Food has become greasy, not fresh tasting
My most recent take out order was 8÷26÷15 — my veal parm was terrible. Veal was mushy and uneatable. They veal was either bad from previously being frozen or just low quality. The deserts which i was looking forward to after a sub par meal were frozen solid.
Cant relax at their bar while waiting for food because the owners family is camped out talking and watching tv. All kinds of yelling and arguing in the back. I am Italian and I am use to my Grandmother and Mom and cousins yelling when they speak because thats how Italians communicate with passion and excitement, but this is over the top, dropping f bombs and it just becomes annoying after awhile. Not classy at a restaurant. This isnt NYC its Aurora CO.

2 days after I went and had a 5 star meal, I came back and brought my husband. We both ordered the Bruschetta chicken because of how delicious it was the first time. This time I would give the dish a 2 or 3. It was greasy, a little burned on the edges and it did not have fresh shaved parmesan. It looked and tasted different from 2 nights ago. I told them to go light on butter and oil as I did the first night, but this time it was swimming in it. I was disappointed because I had raved about it to my husband and friends. I do not know that I will come back anytime soon because of the inconsistency. Service was good once again but the food was not. I may come back for dessert sometime. Those looked amazing.

If you want some good Italian food, you gotta try this place out! I remember the first time I came here just to grab some dessert and go, they were doing construction to expand, we came back maybe 6 months later and the place had completely changed for the better! A lot more seating, better decorations, more staffing, it’s almost as if Gordon Ramsey was just there.
My wife and I split a calzone, this thing was huge! I even had a good appetite and couldn’t finish my half. We also got one of their Italian sodas, delightfully sweet but not disease inducing. We were also told by a friend that we had to have one of their cannolis so we mustered up some courage and split one. This was interesting because it had some physical weight but when you ate it, it was light. We finished it no problem, very good. Our waitress was very friendly, she was a bit slow at the time since it was busy so no complaints there. The seating however was a tad crammed, we were too close to other tables so I wouldn’t call this place romantic, just a good place to bring friends and have good Italian food.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here on Friday the 6^th of June. Firstly I must say that I’ve eaten here four times before and always enjoyed it and thought the food was above average. My experience Friday was way below par for this little restaurant and I feel the need to point out to the owner/​manager that something had gone awry.
We were seated immediately, given menus and asked what we wanted to drink.
During the next 15 minutes we waited for our drinks, with the waitress coming by twice to say she would have our drinks in a minute. During that time a waiter spilled two drinks at the hightop next two us, splattering pop across the floor and the main passage between the kitchen and the tables. Someone shouted for a mop, but a good 10 minutes went by with no one cleaning the mess, wait staff running back and forth through the damp and tracking sticky pop all over the rest of the restaurant. No mop showed up, but after at least 10 minutes a waitress brought several rags and attempted to clean the spill. However, when she was done it was still very wet, and people continued to step in it and spread it around.
In that same period someone (I believe the manager) shouted out that there were empty tables and angrily indicated to the hostess that people waiting should be seated. Keep in mind that this is a VERY small restaurant, perhaps 10 tables, and he was standing right in the middle of the tables venting his displeasure. Other staff followed his example, shouting over the heads of diners for food, drinks and other needs, creating a very uncomfortable atmosphere.
Finally, when our food was served, we both noticed that it tasted very bland, and a little off. We ate some of the dishes, but left the rest on the plate, paid our bill and left. Later that evening we both felt intestinal discomfort.
I’ve always liked this restaurant and feel that my experience Friday night was an anomaly. I’m hoping the management gets things back in order as it is one of a very few non-​chain restaurants in our area.

Birthday dinner for 6 December 21 (Sunday). We got there early enough to get a table that accommodated us.
Our gentleman waiter sat us and took our drink order and our food order. He then disappeared for about 20 minutes. We ordered a pasta dish for the birthday boy, a pizza for the rest of us and an appetizer. The pasta dish came out from another server, no appetizer and the waiter was nowhere to be found.
We had to finally grab another waitress to ask what was going on and if there was an eta on our appy and pizza. Still no waiter to be found. The waitress filled our drinks and our pizza finally came out — waiter had fouled up our pizza topping order. The waitress apologized and we had to start eating our pizza because to make another would have been painful to wait.
The gentleman waiter finally came over and although he apologized, he seemed rushed and indifferent. He comp’ed a few desserts.
Be careful with any bigger party than two. Seemed difficult for the staff to keep up with.
