This is by far the worst Safeway I have ever frequented. I live nearby, so I have frequented it often. This store is often completely out of displayed stock on household staples like milk or bread. One has to be careful when shelves are full, also, due to instances like the one I ran into yesterday: the yogurt display was chock full of product… that expired over a week ago. It also seems to have about four shopping carts total, though the rest may have been stolen. On multiple occasions, I’ve been there on a Saturday afternoon or morning to find there are two or three cashiers working leisurely and lines of up to twenty people waiting to check out. Don’t go here if you can help it.

So this morning I called to order a birthday cake for tomorrow. Prior to this I was told I needed 24 hours notice. So back to my call. A lady answers and when I say that I would like to order a cake she has no idea what Im saying. Uhhhh? CAKE. ORDER. PLEASE. The lady on the other end could barely speak english. After barely getting past my phone number I figured this is a lost cause as my daughter name was sure to be butchered. I said maybe I should order in store and she said that shes not good with English on the phone. Oh Really? I then called the«front end manager» and explained how its bad practice to have a non english speaking person answering calls in which Im sure many calls a day come in for special order cakes. She pretty much gave the standard«Ill talk to the bakery manager» brush off. I love safeway and hate to write a bad review but this really stinks.
