From the reviews I thought it was going to be stellar but apparently I’m missing something? We stopped by here before grabbing a few beers at Dry Dock. This is definitely a place to grab and go with your food because the ambiance is lacking. We ordered, paid and waited for a few minutes then our food was ready. I don’t know why but crinkle cut fries just seem to work with a gyro. The tsaziki sauce was a little too runny and bland for my taste but the gyro was packed with meat and the combo came at a reasonable price so I wasn’t too concerned about hitting my wallet too hard. The pita bread was cold which was a huge letdown as well, really, what am I missing with this place? Maybe I did it backwards and need to visit here AFTER a few beers? If you’re getting it to go, request extra ketchup packets as they are quite stingy.

This place was delicious! The owners were so great! Fresh food made while we waited and can’t wait to come back and try the baklava.

Delicious food! Very friendly, the baklava are made right there — fresh and delicious! Best customer service we’ve experienced in a while.

Food was good, owners nice. My family had the gyro meals and enjoyed them. I had the gyro plate because I wanted the salad, rice & hummus. Everything tastes yummy and was filling. I’d definitely come again.

Surprised this place got such high reviews! We came here after getting recommended it for dinner while enjoying brews at Dry Dock. The owners are a kind elderly couple, who run the back and the front. The good? 1. Prices: 5.99 for a falafel, 6.99 for a gyro(the shaved meat). 2. Near the brewery 3. Nice people The bad? 1. Food quality. My pita was cold and hard… they didn’t even bother warming up the store bought pita. Too much sauce, not enough toppings. The gyro was warmer and better flavor. Wouldn’t return. Recommend bringing in food else where.

Awesome place, one of my favorites for a good solid gyro and fries. If your looking for good folks and great gyros this is a solid place to come eat when your out in aurora.

I don’t get it. Why so many stars? I am a big fan of Mediterranean food. I love me some gyros and hummus, but I prefer fresh and homemade. Apart from the gyro meat that was warm and freshly sliced and the veggies, everything else we got came out of a grocery store bottle or bag. Our pita that came with the hummus was still in the darn bag from the manufacturer. And it wasn’t even one of the really good brands. It wasn’t bad, but it was in no way what I would have expected from a place with a nearly 5 star rating. Perhaps the abundance of options in my current hometown of Columbus, Ohio has me spoiled?

This is why you do not want to eat at a chain. Excellent food, nice and quiet. Good family run place to eat. Our first time here but definitely not our last!

While the gyros were pretty average, there was a authentic atmosphere that eminated from the restaurant. The decorations, while simplistic, really made it seem like you were eating gyros made by your mother at the comfort of your own home. The owners are fantastic and are the highlight of this restaurant. Their friendly demeanor and outgoing personalities make this restaurant a beacon of happiness. I would recommend this place for any small groups of people looking for a quiet and homely place to sit and chat, maybe even a small, casual date or two.

The meal sign from 1980 lists 4 types of meals: gyros, chicken, shawarma and falafel, all under $ 8. You can only choose the sandwich or make it a salad. The old couple behind the counter look like they have been married for many decades, or so I felt by listening to the way they speak Greek to each other. They cook your food after you order and it is tasty & satisfying as if you were broke in Greece and a gyro was your only choice for a meal. Support these guys, food was delicious!

This was my first time ordering from the Gyros King and I must say, I wasn’t disappointed. It is a small family owned restaurant and you can tell they prepare their food with love and passion. I ordered the combination plate with chicken and gyro meat(lamb). I would have thought the combination plate would be bigger than it was with a salad on the side, I guess that is neither here not there, just my personal preference. There was plenty of hummus on the plate, the falafel was DELICIOUS, probably the best I have ever had. The only thing that I was somewhat disappointed in, the combination plate didn’t come with tzatziki sauce. I thought this was a Mediterranean staple! So, next time I go(yes, I will be back) I will be sure to ask for a side of tzatziki on the side. Overall, good experience, good food, and I would definitely be back if the opportunity presented itself.

I can honestly say I’ve never been here, but my sister has picked it up in the past week. I give it a 5 star rating since I think it’s a star above gyroz and sai which I also like. The fries here are ok but not crave able. I also like that their pitas don’t get soggy as fast as other places that serve gyros.

First visit today. Had the Gyros w/fries and a drink. Gyros was wonderful! Very flavorful. The owner was very nice. He makes everything himself. Took some Baklava to go & it was perfect! We will be back :-)

This place is amazing for fresh, hot fast food! It’s cooked to order so they take about 10mins per order but well worth it! The place is ran by a older couple that was very polite and certainly can cook! I’ll definitely be returning each time I’m in the area.

Next time when you visit Dry Dock Brewing, do yourself a favor and order a Gyro and fries from this place. Gyro with fries, and drink only cost $ 7.50 and it’s made to order by these two nice owner couple. It might take a few minutes because it’s small mom and pop shop. If you want to try something out of the box, the Baba ghanoush is made from fresh eggplants and the Hummus or Hommoss is also top notch. If you like Garbanzo, give Gyros King a try.

This place, boys and girls, makes a good gyro! I’m very happy about spending my money at this mom & pop place. Good job! So maybe I haven’t scoured Denver on a quest for the ultimate gyro, but I wouldn’t exactly call Denver gyro mecca, so I won’t waste my time doing that. Chicago, however, has a large Greek population and it’s a good place to go to get an idea of what an authentic gryo *should* taste like. Based on past Denver gyro experience, I definitely wasn’t expecting much. But, when I walked in and saw an older Greek couple manning the kitchen and counter, I thought hmmm, this could be good! Plus, one of the tables had a Greek family waiting for their food. Another good sign! I ordered the gyro meal which came with a gyro sandwich, fries, and a drink for $ 7.50. The fries were very good — perfectly fried and great flavor. The gyro was huge! No shortage of meat, sauce, and assorted toppings(see the picture I posted). And the gryo bread was great too. A lot of places have a regular bready pita, but Gyros King uses the real stuff, or at least it’s what I call the«real» stuff. It’s hard to explain, but real gyro bread has kind of a rubbery texture and doesn’t fall apart on you when you stretch it around all of that yummy goodness inside. I sit here very full & satisfied after having lunch from Gyros King. Thank you very much!

Friday March 21st2014. Time was about 18:30hrs ish. YES, this is DEFINITELY a Mom and Pop establishment. YES, you ordered at the counter. You are welcome to seat yourself where ever you want to. From their simple menu, we decide to order these following items : 2 order of Gyros Meals that comes with Fries and Drink($ 7.50) each hence it was $ 15. Hubs also decide to order the Arabic Coffee which was $ 2.50. Our Dinner was about $ 20 with tax. We waited for abit for our food to be ready, coz before we were there, there are like 2 other patrons waiting to have their Order To Go. The Meals which include Fries and Drinks starts from $ 6.50 if you were to order the Falafel. Then the rest will be $ 7.50, choices of Gyros, Chicken OR Chicken Shawarma. Salads are between $ 7.25 and $ 8.50. Big Plates are from $ 9.75 and $ 12.99. The Dining area can seat about 15 to 20 people at one time. We decide to dine in. 4 stars for the service from the staffs. They will send your food to where you are seating. 3.5 Stars for overall experience. 3 Stars At Best For Food. The portion with price is reasonable, and doable. I think when we received our food, due to the cold salad that they put in the Pita Bread, with the Gyro Meat, makes the rest of the Gyro, COLD. *Sad Face* It DOESNOTWOW us as much as I was hoping for. Maybe next time, if we were to return, I would order the Gyro with Plate instead. Perhaps from there, my review could differ. Note to SELF: Oooh NOT forgetting, I think I should brush up my Arabic Speaking skills, though the staffs definitely can communicate in English finely.
