Great food, very friendly! Proportions were great and my meal came with an abundance of meat. Perfect!

Fast service and decent price. We ordered chicken and broccoli and general tso lunch special. The wonton soup and egg drop soup was decent. Chicken and broccoli ok. General tso chicken was not spicy at all. Fried rice was not good.

Tried this because of Mark T’s review, and boy I wish I had that decision to do over. Bites of China suffers from the perennial problem of Chinese places that are trying to serve both seekers of authentic Chinese food and those who are looking for $ 7 General Tso’s Chicken lunch specials. It just doesn’t work, and, in this case, it’s a real shame because the possibilities of having a real Xinjiang or Uyghur influenced Chinese restaurant in this area, would be truly enticing. This is certainly a step-up from Panda Gourmet or some other by-the-scoop chinese place, but not by much. I tried two dishes, which I thought might be from the real chinese side of the menu – the Yuxiang pork and the spring onion noodles – but they were both bland and americanized. The Yuxiang pork was especially bad, just like your typical lunch special. And it was served with a bowl of terrible, gloppy sweet and sour soup and fried cream cheese wonton. Ugh. Might try this again if they decide to bulk up their real chinese offerings, but as it stands, this place was ordinary.

Spring noodle’s were decent but they don’t deliver what you order and when you call you get the… «we have a system in place and we signed off that it was delivered.» The guy on the phone wanted to make it about the type of soup I had called to say was missing(along with other stuff), but it was not about just the soup. I want what I ordered??! I don’t want to hear that it was delivered(lie), it being wonton or hot & sour soup, when I didn’t get either. I didn’t get what I ordered, period! I don’t care what your process is and I’m not going to be told that something was delivered and it was not. Plain and simple. So now I’m like, don’t deliver the dang gone soup and stuff that was missing… I don’t know what you did to my food because now I don’t trust you.

In the Highline Village stripmall near Alameda & Ironton(also home to the very delicious Taz Indian Restaurant), Bites of China(or as I sometimes like to call it, «BoC») will dazzle you with an array of tasty items from many parts of the world’s most populous nation(1.3 billion and counting!) The charming owner is from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region(specifically, the capital, Ürümqi) in northwest China and belongs to the Uyghur ethnic group, who are related to the Uzbeks, Tatars and Turks, among others. Perhaps unsurprisingly, some of the most delicious dishes on offer at Bites of China are the Uyghur ones. The lamb kabobs, rubbed with the cumin-chili mixture known locally as Ziran, are juicy, earthy and zingy all at once — no easy feat. Meanwhile, the hand-pulled Dingding noodles sing with hints of beef and tomato. Then again, there are always the toothsome fried pies known as Cowboy Prince(with spicy beef and peppers) and Cowboy Princess(including apples and walnuts) to whet your appetite. Not to be outdone, other Chinese regions are similarly well represented at Bites of China. The Old Beijing Minced Pork is a variation on the dish known as Zha Jiang Mian and features ground pork in an unctuous, salty sauce made from fermented soybeans. Meanwhile, the ultra-cosmopolitan eastern city of Shanghai brings to the table a comforting, homey plate of noodles with scallion oil, mixed veggies and a hint of chili(also very popular in Taiwan). And of course, we can’t forget the Sichuanese classic known as Fish-Flavor Shredded Pork. Now, don’t turn your nose up and go «ewwwwwwww» — the dish(which you may have also seen listed as Yuxiang Pork in some eateries) is so named because the vinegar/garlic sauce used to flavor the pork also goes very well with fish. If you’re still not feeling quite that adventurous, don’t worry — BoC also has a full slate of more familiar dishes for you to try as well, from cream-cheese wontons, to Mongolian beef, to shrimp with lobster sauce, to chicken lo mein. I think you’ll like ‘em all. And how can you end a meal without sampling their red-bean stuffed sesame balls? Yes indeed — Bites of China has something to please both the warriors and the wallflowers in your party. So try them out and see what you think.

Tried this place right after they opened and have not bring back. Food was mediocre and WAY overpriced. I ordered an appetizer and entrée and somehow ended up with a 24 dollar tab. The chicken wings were good I’ll give them credit for those.

It pains me to write such a negative review, because I want to support businesses in my community, but this place seriously serves the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. Maybe the worst food, period. We ordered the«gourmet» dinner special with 2 entrees: Sesame Chicken and General Tso’s Beef. On the upside, the wonton soup was decent as were the crab cheese wonton. But the entrees were mind-bogglingly bad. Soggy and flavorless and just plain awful. I guess we’ll continue driving across town to pick up from our favorite Chinese restaurant in Congress Park.

Dreadful thieves. Ordered via phone, was told total was $ 18 and some change. I told her to add a three dollar tip. They charged me $ 24 and change. I didn’t get a receipt. I didn’t get the steamed rice I ordered. I called to complain and lady didn’t care or apologize. $ 6 fried fantail shrimp greasy. Chicken teriyaki consisted of dry over cooked chicken with thin sugar sauce on it. Avoid them like an Ebola patient!
