A little pricey for a thrift store. It was okay. The lady that checked me out was really nice. I had a 25% coupon but it was only for certain colors, but she gave it to me anyway! Nice, right!

A+ thrift store is like a throwback to an earlier thrift store era. It’s located in an out-of-the-way area and is a bit grungy looking. Not too many ‘soccer mom’ types are willing to stop in a thrift located on East Colfax, so it’s rarely crowded. But the employees are very nice and you can sometimes find cool items. I’ve been here 4 – 5 times and usually find some decent clothing or a household item, like a vintage jacket I recently bought. But, you do have to do some searching. Not everything is hung on the right rack or placed on the right shelf. They have a ton of nick-nack items, but it’s a bit harder to find anything that’s unique or vintage. And the book section is pretty bad. Most are poorly organized and stacked up in big heaps. A+ is not far off of I-225 and is worth visiting if you are in the area. It’s not a ‘chic’ or ‘hip’ thrift store, but can sometimes have items that are surprisingly good.

The prices are outlandish for a thrift store. Shoes in well worn condition for $ 6+. I saw a pair of boots for $ 22! It was huge and the ladies working were very nice though. I liked the store but the prices need to reflect the condition of the items and the community that shops there.

I stumbled upon A Plus on a recent trip to my storage container in Aurora’s industrial wasteland. I picked up 2 vintage brooches for $ 8 and a sweater for $ 2.50. They have the usual daily 50% off colored tag sales. It’s kind of divey, they price their vintage jackets too high, and way too much space is devoted to knickknacks, but the nice older lady who calls you honey(and you don’t care because it’s genuine) makes up for it.

This is probably the most well organized thrift store I’ve ever had the privilege of browsing. Considering how huge it is I guess it isn’t that hard for it to be well-organized though. There were also quite a few awesome finds like a floor length pleather coat right next to a real fur one. I passed on both so if you’re in the market for either they may still be there. Another cool thing about this place is that they get unused clothes donated by stores with overstock and then sell them for half the price the store was selling it. So you can actually find new things for like $ 10. I bought a dress from here that was like that. I can’t wear it anytime soon since it’s a summer dress, but hey, I’m obsessed with dresses so I can never pass up on opportunity like that.
