I have been visiting Soy about once a week for several months now. I consider myself a pretty good judge of their menu as a whole; their are more items I have had than not. Sushi: hands down the best place on Broad St for sushi. The rolls are never made the same way twice — they stick to the ingredients listed on the menu, but presentation is always unique. For me a full meal consists of two rolls and a beer — one roll is not quite enough. My personal favorite is the Butterfly Roll, that sweet thai chili sauce really makes it tasty. Any of the stir fry noodle dishes will be more than enough to fill you up for at least two meals — and of those, I highly recommend Pad Thai. They have about 12 beers on tap; I always get a Goose Island IPA. Safe to say this is my favorite restaurant on Broad.

So knew that this place had bad reviews but got roped into going by family. We got there ordered dumplings and sushi. The dumplings took about 15 minutes, and we ok… Sauce it came with was bland… about 30 minutes after ordering they told us they ran out of sushi rice, and had to cook more… We asked how long she said 20 minutes then had to wait for rice to cool down then make roll… So another 30 minutes… We canceled our order. Confused how you run out of sushi rice on a Saturday night, don’t they plan? Spent $ 15 on drinks and app… Left hungry… Will never go here again! If I could give it zero star I would… Don’t eat here there are so many other places that are better!

I was downtown for a concert and stopped in for a quick dinner. I didn’t know of this place but I was pleasantly surprised. Great food and great service. I’ll definitely be going back.

A group of us went for lunch Saturday and it was pretty much a fall from grace. It was around noonish, completely empty and there was one sushi chef listening to his headphones while prepping. A blue haired woman greeted us and instructed us to pick our table. Our server brought waters and drinks to our table quickly, was chipper and ever present for refills which is the only reason for the two stars. Service as always was great but the food was just crap this time. The menu is extensive so I imagine they’re just overextended and lacking in the right materials to make such a simple Japanese dish-ramen. I love ramen of both the instant and restaurant variety. But if I wanted to eat instant ramen, I’d do it at home. The broth base was difficult to detect because it wasn’t miso, soy, or pork. It was more like a Sambal Olek mixed with water and chicken stock. The noodles were shamefully thin and rigid and instead of a soft boiled egg, they dropped an egg and made egg drop soup. For an additional $ 3.50, I got julienned carrots, sour canned corn and onions as my veggies. I was so hungry, I managed to finish the veggies and most of my poor husbands food. I did communicate it to the server when she came by to check on us but all I got was a shrug and«sorry.» The sushi here is definitely fun and tasty but don’t waste your time with the ironic namesake. It’s boring, bland and a poor excuse for food.

Probably the second best Thai food I’ve had in Augusta. Large selection of Thai, Japanese, and Chinese food. Pretty speedy service, friendly waitress, relaxed setting. I was impressed they stock spicy chili garlic sauce(I don’t remember the name of it — but is only available at Asian markets and it’s amazing). My wife didn’t really like her Pad Thai — it was admittedly very lacking in the peanut sauce department, but it wasn’t terrible. I had the teriyaki Japanese rice and was really impressed. Heaps of veggies, nicely fried rice, huge portion. My wife loved mine as well. All in all — pretty solid spot. Not the best Thai food I’ve had — but better than most places in the area, so that’s something.

Service was okay. Lots of young waitresses and some seemed new to the job. Took awhile for us to get our drinks and order our food. I got the Pad Thai, and my husband got the Chinese Lo Mein. All I have to say is that Bonefish Grill’s Pad Thai is 10000% better than Soy Noodle, which saddens me since as the name implies, Soy Noodle is a Thai/Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese noodle restaurant. The Lo Mein was super sweet and tasted very syrupy. The interior of the restaurant is a little dingy and very much in need of a deep-cleaning. Our table and seats were dirty and just made our meal that much worse. I know it’s a downtown Augusta building, but nevertheless, the food did not make up for the old-building vibe. We won’t be returning here. Seems like our $ 25 dollars would’ve been better spent at a Chinese takeout. I would’ve taken a picture, but the food didn’t look good so no picture…

Our server was just the right amount of attentive, and the food was great! We were worried at first because we ordered quite a bit with some special requests but everything came out right. We each ordered more than one roll, and the server brought each new roll out as we finished one, which was nice because the table didn’t get crowded. I would definitely come here again!

I was surprised at how much I liked this place. I kept avoiding it because of the reviews. We came here for one of my book clubs and had a great time. Our server was not only attentive, but somewhat entertaining. I think she had fun with our group. I wasn’t all that hungry so I just ordered a side salad and then the appetizer firecracker shrimp. The firecracker shrimp had a good kick to them and were pretty tasty. My friend ordered the miso soup and dumplings and said they were good. I didn’t hear any other complaints from the table but I’m curious how the rest of their food is. A friend of mine had been telling me to come here for a while, because it’s one of the only Asian restaurants that has a full bar, instead of the limited beers/drinks that you never really want.

Soy Noodle House is a nice establishment. Every time I come in during the afternoon it’s not a big crowd. Food is delivered in a timely manner. The staff is ok. I do think think the welcome could be a little bit better. I’m usually sitting at the bar and I’m not greeted by anyone until I seat myself. They have nice sleek décor. They also have a lot of space and seating. The food is always great to me. I really love the egg rolls!

I gotta stop you here, cuz I have a question: Are you looking for KICKIN’ CUISINE with great customer service and reasonable prices. If you are like ~myself~, oooooo chile, this is IT, this is the twinkly star of the strip for delicious downtown delicacies. Dope atmosphere(beautiful décor and varied seating options for groups singles and couples) with OUTSTANDING and knowledgeable staff who you want to hug, decide not to because you can’t risk being banned from this Asian food Oasis… it’s just not worth it Shawty. I ordered the conch nigri, it was so… freaking…fresh, with perfectly cooked rice lovely nestling a chunky slice of sexy seafood sitting there like a piece of marine pinup pr0n. The presentation was lovely as well, with a perfectly pleasant dot of wasabi and plenty of fresh ginger. Just really quality Sushi for an affordable price. But then… THEN my friends I ordered the Japanese Tomato Udon. I looked to my server with my best puppy face and inquired, «B-b-b-b-but does it HAVE to be Udon noodles?» She didn’t break a sweat and told me to pick a noodle, any noodle and it would be SO! And within no time, I had a B.A.B.(BIGASSBOWL) of steaming, pretty noodles with a heaping helping of vegetables. I’m going to post a picture, the do NOT mess around with portions, and if I tried to describe it, you wouldn’t believe me I took a bite, and a noodle wrapped itself around my neck, grabbed me by the collar. The noodle screamed: «DIDYOUTHINKTHISWASSOMESORTOFGAME?!» There are ARTISANS in that kitchen trained the art of kicking your tastes buds ass. Their culinary certifications have golden seals embossed with shoes and incredulous customer reaction emoticons… these are all facts my friend. tl;dr: Anyone hating on this place can SUCKMYSOY! Excellent eatery.

Ate here the other day with my wife for the first time. She loves this place and have never been able to go. Great price for the amount of food and quality of food. When we went it wasn’t very busy at all so we had no problems with the service as others have had. Will definitely go again.

I don’t even want to write a review because I hate writing negative reviews, but this place was just terrible. The hostess was not around for more than 5 minutes after we walked through the door. Once she graced us with her presence, we asked the wait time(20 minutes, even though half the tables were empty), but she didn’t have a list to write down our name. It was incredibly confusing. But we gave it the benefit of the doubt and walked over to the bar to grab a drink. There didn’t appear to be anyone else waiting for a table so when we noticed a party leaving a table in the back, we decided to grab it since the hostess was MIA again. Once we sat, a server came up took our order for waters. 20 minutes later our waters arrived. The server stuck around long enough to get our food orders and then we didn’t see her again for almost an hour when two people in our party received their lo mein meals(the rest of us ordered sushi). Even my miso soup had not arrived yet. We inquired about the status of my soup and our sushi, but she didn’t have an answer. We stewed for another 15 minutes of waiting and finally flagged her down again. She said something had happened with the sushi rice and that was the cause of the delay. Why she didn’t advise us of that before we ordered or while we were waiting is a mystery. We were there for almost two hours before the sushi arrived at the table. It was decent but that does not make up in any way for the terrible service and incredibly long wait time(with no updates/explanations). We thought that maybe the waitress was new because she was spacey and didn’t seem to know what she was doing, but we asked and she’d been with SNH for more than 7 months… no excuse. Soy Noodle House needs to reevaluate the staff and get it together if they are going to stay in business.

Man. this place was so meh even this review is bumming me out. Got a vietnamese crêpe and some noodles. Everything was so generic and plain it drains all the energy out of you, it’s like some cruel world where the food you eat sucks out all your calories as it slides down your throat. I guess that sounds pretty great if you’re on a diet. But the food is just toooOOO meh. Like even cheap takeout noodles are salty and greasy and great when you’re binge watching House of Cards. These noodles/crêpe had no merits at all, they don’t taste fresh, they don’t taste well made, they just. happened. Now I’m sad just writing this.

How low can I rate this place? Unilocal won’t let me continue without giving it at least one star so they get that one for free. The absolute worst service I have ever had. I was there for almost 2 hours and never received any food. I had to go to the bar to order a beer because the server disappeared and never put it in. Some of the people I went with actually got food which I was able to try and it was pretty good.

Great get together place for vegan friends! I was apprehensive given the mixed reviews, and I am really surprised that there were negative comments because my food was wonderful and service was great. We were seated immediately and beverages were brought promptly and our orders taken thereafter. While the food did take a little while to arrive, there was a group of 12 of us and the time was not disproportionate to the group size. The portions were nice sized and the prices were in line for the area. I would have been happy taking half of mine home, but I kept eating and eating because it was SOGOOD. The server understood what vegans chose not to eat and was comfortable in taking our orders and very helpful when I asked her advice on which of two items to order. Music was not so loud that we could not enjoy the conversation. We all had a great time. Can’t wait to go back.

After a few visits to the soy noodle house It’s time to review. The food is good, but that is not enough. The staff does not seem to care about you presence. On my most recent visit the waiter was also the bartender. She was not very attentive to the party I was with, in her defense she was also the only waiter at the time(lunch). Once our food was served the next time she came near our table she had our check in her hand. I had the nerve to ask the chef for a bag for my leftovers. After he realized I would not go away just because he was ignoring, he finally told me I would have to get a bag from my server.

Unfortunately, I’ve given this place way too many tries. I live and work downtown, and used to frequent this establishment regularly when it first open. But since then, the service and food has dramatically declined. I order to-go often, since I’m very close. The last time I ordered, I ordered a side of pork fried rice with no onions and a miso soup. The soup tastes sour(or something, I’ve never tasted miso this odd before) and my rice had chicken in it with onions throughout. Seriously, I could’ve made this meal better and next time I will. Don’t get me started on their awful, low quality sushi as well. Stay away.

If you’re looking for a spot to have lunch/dinner with friends and not overly concerned with the pesky details of a restaurant like ambiance and prompt service look no further. I’ve dropped in thrice for lunch and each time has been a unique experience. The first time I had Pad Thai to go and it was my first time trying it so I was pretty excited the entire three block walk back to work only to discover my noodles were burnt. Again, first time for Pad Thai but it didnt look like the pictures I’d seen online. I muscled through it because I’m greedy. Second time was with friends and there was plenty of time to chit chat from the time we order until the time it came so I didnt mind too much. This time the Pad Thai was so delicious I ordered one to go for my daughters dinner! Fast forward to todays lunch with the girls. The waitress who is always super energetic came over with her cheerleader voice on and took our order. *dougies to the thought of food* Thirty minutes later my stomach has lodged itself in my spine in an attempt to forget its hungry and she brings our food. Well, two complete orders and half of the third. Figuring she held off bring the sushi until the food had been prepared, we talked and as we pushed back realized that the third, ridiculously polite party never received her sushi. I flagged her and she looked over the table as if we smuggled it from the bar and ate in a vicious attempt to defraud them of a California Roll. We watch her go over and probably ORDER the sushi but the girl has to each right?! Good food but the service can be a crap shoot when the waitress always seems a bit … spaced out …

I have always had good noodles here, Singapore, Pad Thai, lo mien. Usually have with pork and scallops. Very generous portions. Half goes home with me. This is a must lunch stop when in downtown Augusta, GA. Blow on the noodles always come nice and hot.
