One of our favorites. When ever we come back to Georgia we try to stop in. Good food and good service. Hash is always good.

Real good BBQ. The sauce is classic. Potato salad and hash are good too. Not to mention there pickles and peppermints :) The overall décor is so inviting as well. Don’t forget they do have a drive in.

Went here tonight for the first time. It was awful ! I don’t know how anyone eats this. It can only be good for pig slop. How in the world this place remains open is beyond me. The bbq has no flavor at all. The potato salad not good. That stuff they call hash was so nasty. How anyone can eat this food and say it is good I can’t understand? Wow save your money and go to McDonald’s it’s way better. The service was great.

I grew up in Augusta and have had Sconyers my entire life. In the past few years something has changed. It’s not as good. There are WAY better places in the CSRA now. Sconyers has seen it’s day.

Great barbecue!!! The restaurant has a unique, family atmosphere! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Sconyers is a great local restaurant in the Augusta area and highly recommended. The hash and barbecue are amazing!!!

Best place to get Georgia pit bbq. It’s not a gourmet place, it’s an old school bbq place. Food tastes great. I highly recommend it!

A big old wood cabin up on a hill with ducks and fish that the children always enjoy visiting. The antique things everywhere add to the experience. but the taxidermy animals could use some cleaning. The pulled pork is good, I always ask for the sweeter sauce — they don’t offer it, but its on the menu for a $ 1. The hash tastes great, but the presentation could definitely use some work… It does not look appetizing what so ever. I don’t like Cole slaw or potato salad, so I can’t speak on those. The waitress’ having to wear that terrible costume is ridiculous and now that I live closer, I find myself just going through the drive through more often. It’s not the best BBQ I’ve ever had. But for $ 13, through the drive thru, for a heaping helping its worth it!

This is probably one of the top 2 places I’ve ever eaten BBQ. Service and food was awesome! Upon entering, it looks like you’ve stepped back in time. Wait staff dresses and décor are about a century old and beautiful. My husband and I both had the T-loin sandwich and there’s actually enough meat on one for 2 sandwiches. Tender and juicy meat on a fresh sift bun. We will be back!

I never had a problem at Sconyers before but the way my wife was treated today was not only disrespectful but despicable. I assume that minorities are not welcome at Sconyers anymore or our money doesn’t possess the same value. My wife arrived for lunch around 11:45, their was a party of people in front of her and behind. The hostess never addressed my wife but addressed the other parties and seated them. A different lady came out, looked directly at her and proceeded to seat the four gentlemen behind her. When it was time for her to leave she was told she could couldnt pay at the register right outside the dining room to the right. Funny thing is her other coworkers walked right behind her and paid. Maybe its all a big coincidence or maybe the staff needs cultural training.

Ambiance/Décor: A Service: A+ Food Quality: B+ Price: A Probability of a Return Visit: Definitely — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Only open Thursday to Saturday. Must be doing extremely well to only have to open 3 days a week. Ambiance/Décor: A Very cool rustic lodge structure with a foot bridge over a pond as you enter. Nice and clean. Service: A+ We had a waitress that has been working there for over 30 years. She was fantastic. Enough said. Food Quality: B+ I got the Plantation Platter following and shared it with my wife and daughter. We could not eat it all. Ribs, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and hash with cole slaw and baked beans. We enjoyed it all. The variety of sauce was limited to 3 versions of their homemade varied by spiciness. I would have like more choices. Price: A Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the dishes. Well worth it. Probability of a Return Visit: Definitely, my dad dined here some 30+ years ago. He wanted to go back when he and my mom came to visit. This was my first time here and will not be my last. Make sure you are good and hungry.

Look at paying an average of $ 12 a plate of bbq The restaurant has a lot of charm and character. The staff is dressed up in a special way, not really sure why they do but every place has a gimmick. I ordered the BBQ pork plate and it is a lot of food. Now if you must have your food look like doves flying over a spring field and you must have your meat drowned in sticky sickeningly sweet sauce then you may want to stay in the place you claim real BBQ is from. The Hash is not the most appealing item to look at but it does taste great if you give it a chance. I got the potato salad and it was pretty good as well. The meat comes UNSAUCED as I believe most all meat should come so that you can actually taste the product you are getting. Being GABBQ the sauces are a strong vinegar base and tend to bring the heat. If you don’t like that then I suggest you bring your own sauce. They also provide a loaf of bread at the table so you can improvise a sandwich if you like. The loss of the star has to do with a combo of things. The bathroom really speaks to the age of the building and is not the most pleasant place to use. Although the BBQ is good it isn’t great in my opinion. All in all if you want to taste what classic Georgia BBQ is about this is definitely a place you will want to visit.

Went there expecting a taste of some great southern food, I left with a stomach ache. Would not go to this restaurant again. I ordered the pork sandwich and my friend ordered the plantation platter. The platter looked like a bunch of dog food, the sandwich was gross as well. If you come to the Augusta craving good southern food, go somewhere else, unless you want a bad stomach ache.

Unique atmosphere and wonderful service. However, the food wasn’t my favorite. The pork was quite bland and side items just average.

I have been to Sconyer’s many times over the past 20 years. My most recent visit last night left me wondering if I will ever eat there again. The service was great and the atmosphere is charming. What makes me question my ability to return is the quality of the meat seems to have gone down hill. I ordered the sliced T-loin plate. What I received was not the sliced T-loin of years past, but a chunk of unflavored pork roast that tasted like it had been cooked in a crock pot. It tasted nothing like BBQ. The rest of my family had the chopped pork plate and they were also extremely disappointed in the quality. The hash with rice was very bland. The only really good thing on my plate was the potato salad. Too bad the food does not make me yearn for Sconyer’s any more.

This place is all about pork, pulled pork, and just about any kind of pig you can imagine. I gained 5 pounds just looking at the menu. The pork came out soft and fresh, making me immediately think about how long ago the poor pig had been slaughtered. But good lord, it was delicious. My only qualm was that their three sauces were rather similar in consistency and taste(kind of vinegary and salty). I doubt I will come here often unless I want to become a fat SOB, but otherwise this is a pretty good joint.

As soon as we walked in we were seated. Since this was our first time here our waitress suggested something for us, which was the platter with a bit of everything! It was more than enough for 2. I was a bit skeptical at first since I have not been able to find a place that comes as close to Texas BBQ, and oh man! This place definitely hit the spot!
