Disappointing meal. Pretty cool place with dim lighting and a more upscale feel, but the quality of the food just didnt meet expectations. Meats(we had fried chicken and pork chops) just didnt have great flavor, and the portions weren’t as big as expected. Collared greens were very good. Squash casserole and mashed potatoes both tasted boxed, but that’s my opinion. Rotating specials during the weekdays for lunch, with a set, high priced dinner menu. They also have burgers and sandwiches each day at lunch for 7 – 9 dollars.

The service, mood, and atmosphere of this restaurant is romantic, personal, and intimate. It’s a great sit down restaurant with friends or with your SO. The menu has two options of the actual dinner menu(the filet mignon, etc.) or or the bar menu(burger, fish and chips, etc.). Their fish and chips were really bad. The fish was this one giant block of hard filet that if I threw it at someone, they could get hurt. It was so badly fried that I think I cut my mouth also trying to bite into it. I was scared I might have hurt my teeth. It was also very chewy and smelled awful. Even when I took it home in my apartment, it took 3 days of Febtreeze to air everything out. The fries were average.

We had tried dinner here a few months ago and it was a little overpriced but I’d heard the lunch was good so gave it another try and it was great ! For $ 7.99 you get a meat, 2 sides, a drink plus dessert and the food is down home delicious: country fried steaks, mashed potatoes, fried squash and peach cobbler that’s pure Southern goodness ! Located at end of Opelika road near campus so great for the older crowd.
