I’ve tried and tried to like this place as I have been dying for something different in downtown Auburn. Unfortunately, they just don’t seem to get it. I’m through with them. When the restaurant finally opened, I hauled the family down there for breakfast — excited to try it out. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. The service was lackluster at best. I chalked this up to being«new». We tried three more times over the course of the next couple of months hoping that they’d turn it around. My most recent visit was the last straw. My son and I went down on a Saturday morning for breakfast. There was only one other table with people seated — the park and ride security guys. We were seated and then the waiting began. We got to overhear the waitress complain to the security guys about her looser boyfriend and on and on. Ten minutes have elapsed and she comes by to take our order. Another ten minutes go by and she comes out to inform me that there was a problem with my eggs and they would have to be redone. OK — over-medium is not hard to do, but fine, I can wait until they are done right. She returns with a plate of broken eggs — yolk fully cooked, mind you, razor-thin bacon, toast so cold the butter hasn’t melted, and half-cooked hashbrowns that looked like they were scooped out of a bucket with an ice cream scooper. We didn’t see her again until it was time for the bill — no coffee refill, no jam, no ketchup or tabasco, no nothing! One thing I’ve noticed is that the owners — or anyone even resembling a manager — are never there. I would think you’d want to be more on top of your business as it first starts up. As it stands, you’ve lost this potential customer. The coffee service has gone to hell since they moved into the restaurant as well — I won’t even go in there for a cup of drip to go for fear of missing my train. Hopefully someone more motivated with pickup the pieces when this place finally fails(I give them about 6 more months…)

This is an odd place, kind of hard to write a slam dunk review.(Hope y’all enjoyed the basketball finals). I waited about 5 minutes to be seated, standing at the door, while the guy at the coffee station stood there looking at an order screen and otherwise twiddling his thumbs. The other server was trying to deliver food to the 4 other tables(out of a dozen or so) that were occupied. But still, I almost left before being seated. I usually have a busy day when I eat at lunch, so I like to be seated right away, at least to give the perception that I’m going to be served expediently. But I decided to stick it out because that prime rib dip looked good. The menu looks pretty simple, but in a good way — all the good things. 3-egg omelettes with good-looking ingredients — 3 of your choice. Nice-looking appealing sandwiches, even the half-sandwich and soup special. The menu is flexible. Finally, after 5 minutes of memorizing the munu, I was seated. I was delighted to find they have two surprise microbrew beers on tap — even if the beer(and wine) they offer aren’t listed on the menu. They have a signature smoked prime rib sandwich for $ 10 that was delicious, with both grilled onions and cheese on it, quality smoked prime rib, and a nice loaf enveloping it – JUST like I like it, and hard to find with all that on a beef dip. The bread was good, collapsing and soaking up the rather ho-hum au jus beautifully. You get a choice of soup, salad, or fries. I asked what the soup of the day was, and the server said something like«Well it WAS tomato basil». Well, what the hell does that mean? Do you still have it, or is it something different now? I was expecting him to finish the sentence, but was left hanging, so I thought maybe they’d just open a can of Campbell’s because they ran out of soup. I had no idea, so I ordered fries — they were ok, but not really what I was in the mood for. The space inside is open. with lots of sunlight, but still kind of cold — not very cozy. In the corner they have«Bob’s» artwork, primarily of planes and trains. It’s cool in a way, but odd, too, kind of taking over space on one side of the restaurant. Once I ordered(10 minutes after arrival), the sandwich came in good time, which I appreciated. But I got the feeling others had to wait for their meals for a while. Service was just… awkward. Perhaps this place could use some training and/or update on how to serve, for their staff. Here’s a tip — for starters, always recognize and seat a customer as a priority, even if you have 3 tables of food to deliver, because it makes them feel welcome, and it only takes a second. Service was polite, complete with«have a fantastic day!» on the way out, but it just didn’t feel comfortable or like they knew what they were doing with that. The location is near the transfer station in Auburn, this is a great spot. But I just didn’t feel like they cared if I ate there or not, until the end greeting, which is odd. Considering how so many other restaurants within 2 blocks walking distance are shut down — either permanently or just at lunchtime, it’s nice to have this place so conveniently located, and with good lunch food. But they still have some work to do with service . If you like beef dips, though, this prime rib dip was one of the best in the Seattle area. PROS: Good flexible menu, good food. CONS: Service is awkward and lacking, until further notice.

Good sized portion, but short on staff and follow through. Located next to the transit plaza you would think that the staff would be happy to see the new Auburn Farmers Market bring 100+ people to their doorstep at lunchtime. Several non-server staff made comments about the Kiwanis selling breakfast, complained about people asking to use the restrooms, and being generally grumpy about so many people being undecided about taking a seat or ordering from the coffee bar. The two young ladies in server aprons were overwhelmed with the influx of people and dropped the ball on several occasions. One offered refills on coffee, while ours did not. One table was missed entirely and ended up walking out after waiting for someone to take their order for 10 minutes. We were served promptly, and the check was dropped off right after or food, but it took 15 minutes of flagging to get a to go box or have our check picked up. At the bottom of the receipt it states that we earned 12 loyalty points and our reward is a «Free Coffee Drink» ??? Loyalty program? Points? There was no mention on the menu or in the restaurant anywhere. We could not decide on lunch or breakfast and split the difference. I had the macaroni and cheese with a side salad while the hubby had biscuits and gravy. The side salad was a great mix of veggies and leafs that was well diced and accompanied by a small cup of tangy Italian dressing. More than enough entrée for two meals! The gravy was not your average breakfast gravy. It was rich and vibrant with a strong sausage taste, without being lost in a pound of sausage. It may look thin in the picture, but it was amazing! The second plate of food was not needed… I don’t know how anyone is supposed to finish 2 eggs and a full serving of hash-browns on top of the biscuits and gravy!
