I got extensions from Courtney & I think I’m being pretty generous giving her 1 star. The process was so messy and painful. Half of the hair fell out within two weeks. I had to go back in to get her to put more hair in (which she complained about heavily). I was embarrassed to leave my house because everywhere I went my hair would come out in gobs. I told her multiple times that I wanted to be able to wear my hair up, but it wasn’t possible with the terrible job she did. I basically had to have my hair plastered down to my hair or else you’d be able to see all the glue. I ended up having her take them out within a month. She absolutely ruined my hair.

I agree with the majority of the reviews below. It has been almost two years since my wedding but the one thing we remember as being a disaster was the hair/​makeup. Courtney did a great job at my trial but on the day of my wedding she was almost two hours late and did not provide the services paid for. I chose Courtney because I have a few blemishes on my back I wanted covered and she said she could do this with the airbrushing. This obviously did not happen since she didn’t bring the airbrush supplies as promised. Also, since she was almost two hours late we were running behind and a friend of mine had to curl my bridesmaids hair for me. Finally, she stated I would receive makeup so I could touch up throughout the day. This also did not happen! With all these issues Courtney didn’t even offer me a discount. I would not recommend her to anyone!!!
Ps– as it turns out my coworker, who was married the weekend before me, was also a client of Courtney’s and had very similar issues as I did and was quite displeased with the service. Wish I knew about her before my wedding day!
I would highly recommend picking someone else for your special event!

It’s really disheartening to see all the negative reviews about Courtney’s Glam on here. First off, I’d like to say that Courtney has been my hair stylist for almost 2 years. She is VERY flexible with her appointments, and you cannot beat her prices ANYWHERE you go. She does quality work, and if unhappy with results, she fixes it at no cost to the customer.
Her professionalism is perfect. That being said, she is very easy going and carefree. She doesn’t give off the «stuffy, stuck up» vibe you get in some salons. Some people are accustomed to that type of environment, and perhaps that’s where her professionalism is questioned, simply because she doesn’t have that attitude.
To each their own.
My hair extensions with her, were ALWAYS on point. Even when I came in looking like a hot mess, she took the time to ensure I wouldn’t be walking out of her salon without looking anything but perfect. The hair she used on me was quality, and 100% REAL. She takes pride in her work, and what she does.
My coloring has always been on point; even if at first I wasn’t sure, in the end I looked amazing.
My makeup has always looked glamorous, and she even drove out to my house, for my birthday, and did hair and makeup for 5 girls, in two hours at a great price.
Don’t give in to the few negative reviews on this website, and give Courtney a chance to make you look and feel beautiful! She’s amazing. :)

My hair and makeup trial for my wedding looked like a hot mess. Sorry if a trail is going to give me a good estimation of my hair and makeup then it would have been fugly.

The 12 by 12 room she does her hair and makeup/​waiting room/​office in is pret-​ty dirty, too!

I drove from Elk Grove to Auburn for my wedding hair and makeup trial, and in exchange Courtney made the trip to downtown Sacramento for free on my wedding day. I loved the hair, although I went with something different the day of because I decided to wear a veil. But the makeup at the trial was just ok. I’ll admit, I was slightly worried about Courtney actually showing up to my wedding because she lived so far away and I needed her there so early to get all of the ladies done in time.
Courtney mentioned to me during the trial that she would give me the «all-​day» package at a price of $ 150 instead of $ 200 where she mentioned she would stay all day and do touch-​ups on the ladies who had their makeup done. I thought that was a good deal and went ahead and booked that.
Fast forward to the day of, Courtney and a helper showed up right on time, 7 or 8am, (I forgot the actual time, but she was on time) and started working diligently on whichever lady was ready. I told Courtney I wanted a different makeup look and decided that morning to just go with a regular black smokey eye. It turned out AMAZING! I also wanted my hair up for the ceremony and down for the reception which she did a fantastic job on as well!
There were a couple things that I was bummed about that made me drop her rating. The first one was she wanted me to email her a MAC cosmetics eyelash set selection and lip gloss color for each lady who was getting their makeup done. Turns out Courtney brought regular Ardell brand eyelashes that you can pick up at a drugstore or Target along with a Revlon or Maybelline brand lip gloss instead of the MAC brand ones we were promised.
The second issue was Courtney said she would be there all day for touch-​ups, because of the package I purchase, but after all the hair and makeup was done, she packed up and her and her assistant left saying they would be in Chico and to call if I needed anything. I didn’t know how any touch-​ups could be done with hair and/​or makeup, in a jiffy, if she was going to be an hour and a half away. I did think it was weird, but I was happy with the results that I didn’t question her about staying the whole time.
She does fantastic work, but the details are what people remember.
I do recommend her, just make sure you get what you want and pay for!

I will start by saying that I think the job Courtney does is great. She’s talented when it comes to make up and hair but when you talk about work ethic, it all goes down the drain.
Here is how it all went down. I hired Courtney and her girls to do mine and my bridesmaid’s’ hair an make up on my wedding day. We agreed to meet at 10am. It turns out only one girl was there at 10am. It’s a pitty that I didn’t get her name because she was great by the way! She ended up doing everyone’s make up. Anyway, while I wait there for Courtney who was supposed to be there at 10, all my girls are getting ready. My ceremony was at 1pm so I had to leave my house at 12:30pm. I wait… everyone getting ready, Courtney still not there. I finally get a call at 12:15pm from her telling me that she was almost there. I wait… It’s 12:30 and still not there… I have to make a decision, there were 7 bridesmaids who still need to do their hair, one girl who needs tattoo cover up, plus my mother in law who is waiting at her house for another make up girl to be sent there to do her make-​up. Turns out, we had to stand her up. So my girls decide to do their own hair. Well, here’s the problem, no one brought curling irons or bobby pins or even hairspray for their hair because Courtney’s Glam was going to take care of it! What a disaster! Courtney finally arrives at 12:45pm, without even saying hi or apologizing for being late. She could have had the courtesy to let me know that she would not make it on time so that I could start on my hair myself.
I am stressed out trying to get ready in 15 minutes. My hair and make up were not the way we had discussed. We did a trial. My eyeliner was fine when the other girl did it until Courtney came along and «fixed it» leaving one eye thicker than the other. My lipstick wasn’t the way it was supposed to be and some parts of my hair were straight.
It is now 1pm, my ceremony should start by now. Instead I’m home stressing about not looking the way I was supposed to. I didnt even feel beutiful! I go and rush to put on my dress, didn’t have time to take it all in. I didn’t even get to have the experience of what it feels like to put my beautiful $ 2000 dress on with my mother’s help. I didn’t get a chance to look at myself in the mirror before I left for Church!!! Courtney and her carelessness and lack of courtesy took that away from me. And still had the balls to charge us all for the shitty work she did. Half way through my reception my hair was flat again. I am a very positive person and don’t let things get me down or ruin my day. It wasn’t going to happen because of her. My wedding was amazing!!!
So with all that said, I do not recommend Courtney’s Glam. My mistake was going to her because of her prices but on your wedding day, pay a little extra to ensure that everything is going to turn out well. I should have definitely thought about it longer.
