Coastal Farm and Ranch

Congrats to a business that offers obedience and rally K9 training to their customers. They have dedicated a space in their warehouse that is contained, matted and secure with a great instructor. They also allow some training to go on within the sales floor area — great for training the dog in public situations.

When I asked the cashier, «Would this feed work for my 8 week old chicks?». «I don’t know, ask him, (man behind me in line) he looks like he owns chickens.» My first and will be my last visit

I just got a super you’re not welcome message here at coastal farm and ranch in Auburn. I am not a big complainer and have no patience for those and see everything is racial but sometimes things are so overt and in your face to have to be called out
As I walk through the door behind five or six individuals who received no attention or even acknowledgement, things came to a startling halt as I walked in. I was asked how can we help, you what do you need? It was made crystal clear that my presence was very unsettling i explained to the cashier that I was fine and would find my way. as I walk down the aisle near the cashier I can see the stocker and the cashier were making eye contact and the stocker stopped what she was doing to repeat the challenge it had been offered to me by cashier at the front door «what do you need» when I told her what I was after she gruffly stated we don’t have that. undaunted I continued my search and was able to locate the item I had come for. perhaps the stocker simply didn’t know they had the item I was searching for. When I went to the checkout line to pay for my item (where my shirt must have offended the cashier because she never made eye contact with me) i made a joke of the fact that I received special attention and must be an honored guest because while I was in the checkout line while waiting to pay for my purchase no less than a dozen people had walked through the door and no one and even lift at their head to notice them in the special way I had been greeted. She explained that everyone gets the same greeting. I had to kind of laugh at this as another 5 or 6 people came in while she’s finished ringing me up and not one was greeted or challenged in this manner or really acknowledge at all. This message was delivered loud and clear and I got it

I split my farm purchases between here and Del’s feed.
The prices are not the lowest but there is a wide selection. I guess the target is the gentleman farmer.
The best deal is on damaged feed sacks— 50% off.
I shopped for a woodstove but the installation wait was a month. Which gives me time to shop around more. After reading the review about Chip, it seems a good idea to go to a store that only does woodstoves and pelletstoves.

They have seasonal baby chickens! Ooh yes, the little peeps sold me on this place!
They have a great selection of Danner Boots and Carharts so this is my go to place for work cloths. They also have a community board, which I love and the bathrooms are kept clean. They do have some toys for human kids and a small selection of things for cats and dogs. Mostly I like their tools selection. The drills are decent and are reasonably priced.
The store is kept clean and well stocked but you’re on your own when you’re on the sales floor. So get used to finding things on your own. I’ve rarely seen any employees on the sales floor and when I do, you have to nearly jump on them to get them to help you because they’re usually busy trying to restock the shelves.
In all, this is a great store and can be fun. Just make sure you can shop on your own and don’t need a sales person to hold your hand through finding and picking your purchase here.

It’s apparent these folks have enough business and don’t need mine.
I was looking for grip tape for a paddle/​oar. A friend of mine had bought some at Coastal at The Super Mall, so that’s where I went a few weeks ago. I was told they didn’t carry it, but would possibly carry it in the future — maybe a couple weeks.
I went again today and had to search up and down the aisles because I couldn’t find someone to ask. I finally gave up. I saw a couple employees around, but they were pretty engaged in conversation with other customers.
Oh well, I can probably find grip tape on Amazon.
Two trips to this store for nothing.

I’ve been shopping at Coastal a lot with my husband lately not buying a lot but looking at everything which he and I enjoy doing together. I have purchased a very nice pair of boots from the sale items and I am very happy with them. I bought a belt but it’s a little too stiff. Lately, I found a nice flannel shirt on the bargain rack that they helpfully ordered it from another store in my size because it was out of my size. Everything has been good up until today. Today I went to the store to pick up the shirt and the employee closest to where I ordered it who may have been a manager had an attitude like I was making her work to get my order and then I came back to change the color within a few minutes and she gave the job to a younger gal. The manager appearing older gal gave me the sense that she is not happy with customer service or working with people or shoppers. I left disappointed that I wasn’t treated like she wanted me there or to ask her for help. Frankly my thoughts were that she should get another job.

Went in today to pick up some ¾″ cotton rope. You would not believe how hard it is to find that stuff! The store is huge, and well stocked. Everyone working the floor was exceptionally helpful and seemed quite knowledgable. I ended up also grabbing some other supplies I need for an upcoming project (they have a small selection of paracord… also difficult to find).
Auburn is a bit of a trek from my neck of the woods, but I may call back to do some price checking. If there is a significant difference, I’ll definitely be back for chicken feed and supplies, etc.

I came here in search of goat supplies (surprisingly hard to find!) and was impressed with their selection. They are housed in the old Walmart so you can imagine the size of the place. They have a very good supply of horse tack, as well as dog houses, chicken coops, small animal supplies, house décor, western wear for the whole family, they have a big hearth and fireplace department, and any number of other critter related gear. I’m not sure what their feed department looks like since I didn’t see it. Their prices are decent and their selection is good. The girl in the tack department was very helpful with my goat questions since she had personal experience raising goats. But that said, I think they could have even more selection of farm supplies. There is no lack of choices of places to buy cat and dog supplies, I only wish farm and ranch stores would stick to farm and ranch and stop filling their shelf space with dog and cat supplies since I think there are a fair amount of Petsmarts, Petco’s, and Mud Bay’s out there to service all the cat and dog owners. That said, I would shop here again if I was in the area.

Arguably the best farm store ever. Grilling supplies, hearth, ammo, garden, chicken feed, clothes… and so much more

very fun friendly place love taking my dog there and getting all my animal supplies people are extremly friendly there.

We decided to come here due to a Sunday AD on black and gold potting soil.
The place was quite impressive. Anything you may need for farming for slightly a higher price. Actually, let me correct myself. Based of of a few items we normally purchase else where we compared the price to Coastal and it appears that Coastal is a bit more costly.
When it comes to actual farming equipments and bulks of supplies, we cannot voice out opinion on it.
Nonetheless, the place is very well kept. Everything is organized and again, impressed.
We happened to have gone during a «free peanuts while you shop» promotion. There are large galvanized tub filled with salted in shell peanuts. Along with those you see a large trash can and a sign stating how long this will be going on for and a «warning» that there will be peanut dust in the air — I appreciate that for the fear of peanut allergy people.
We will be back to check out what else they may have to offer. Workers are friendly and there was even some rabbits in the tubs for sale/​pet AND they supplied hand sanitizer. Kudos!
