Car was totaled in 2014(19 year old girl ran stop sign) Car has custom paint job. Designed by me and painted by a very well known artist. Was told by Gary Jackson that he admired the work and felt it would be an «honor» to do the work. 6 months later, many thousands of dollars including the check from insurance, over 5k for a car rental (out of my pocket), my car was ready… so he said. The day I was to pick it up, he put me off and again and again… etc. Finally 3 weeks later it was ready. He «needed» 1500.00 MORE dollars! When we got there he would not take a check like he did before but insisted on cash!
We had only our vacation money and he just took that! Did not give a $%^$%, just took it! It took weeks to get a final bill (they tried to have the estimate be the bill)!! Hell no! I finally got one and he charged me 200.00 for struts on a door! There ain’t no such thing! He changed it and added that amount somewhere else! He was suppose to clear coat the front wheels… he did not, yet charged me for it. and on and on. I remember giving him the hard earned cash (saving for months for long awaited vacation), watching him count it and then handing a chunk to one of his sons!
I just wanted out of there! Lies, cheating, endless hours spent waiting for the car, waiting for him to return calls, until we had to go there in person and then being told he was at home when he himself had told me otherwise, that he was calling from the shop! Not a single moment of eye contact or regret for taking my money.
Here’s the clincher! I got 2 miles from his shop when the car broke down!!! Had to have it towed to MY mechanic to the tune of 200.00! 24 hours later my mechanic called and told me Gary Jackson had ripped me off! All the parts he used were old and useless! My front end bearings and front struts were a total mess and would cost over 1750.00 to replace! He also said I should turn this crook in to the BBB and Attorney General!
I can go on and into more more grief that this person and his shop caused me, but the gist of this nightmare should be enough to save any other poor soul from using this place!
Oh, and the custom paint job? He couldn’t do it! He had to call the original painter to come and do it! His excuse? His style did not match the original? BUT!!” He taught for 27 years at a Community College near there and he had a number of custom painted cars shown in magazines and car show shows”!! YET! He could not paint mine, AFTER he said «IT WOULD BE AND HONOR»

In December 2012 I rear-​ended someone on 405 and smooshed my 2002 Subaru Forester. As it was ruled my fault I would have to pay for any repairs myself, and I wasn’t sure the car wasn’t totaled. After two months of looking at the smooshed car in the driveway, my fiancé called the local Subaru dealer and they recommended Auburn Quality Collision. Gary (the owner, I think) came out to our house to look at the car and determine whether it was worth fixing. Okay, go back and read that again. He CAME OUT TO THE HOUSE. Who even does that? He determined that it was fixable, and that he would give us a good deal because we were not going through the insurance company. They picked up the car, did the repairs (both body and mechanical), and were able to take payment from my fiancé while he was in Florida on business. When I picked it up Gary told me that he had taken out a few dents in the back that were there when I bought the car and didn’t charge me for it, because my fiancé had told him I was a social worker and Gary said «I have great respect for the work that you do.» The car was also fully detailed when I picked it up, and looks beautiful and runs great. These guys are the best, both as mechanics and as people. This is the way business used to be done, but these days is a rare find. HIGHLY recommended.
