Very sad. I am sure the people that work here are great. I have only gone with my child once and she loved it in there. It’s all the people outside that make it impossible for me to bring my kids here. With so many people clearly participating in illegal activities I can not be here with children and feel safe. It is so unfortunate, I really am hoping Auburn begins to deal with this problem. Some great community resources are being lost in this library, the rec center and Les Gove park!

Unfortunately being too nice can end up ruining a public place. The City of Auburn really needs to clean up this library, the parking lot and the nearby park which has become a haven for drug use, drug users, criminals and the general degradation associated with individuals engaged in illegal activity. I spoke with the manager who simply spouted the «universal access» cliché. «Universal access» how about access for families with small children? How about the tax payers that pay for the facility? It’s a disgrace that the law enforcement presence is zero.

If I was just rating the library building and staff, I would rate the Auburn Public Library a 5 out of 5. The staff is incredibly nice, friendly and helpful. The building is modern, clean, and overall very nice.
The reason I rated it a 2 out of 5 is because of the sketchy homeless people that use it as a shelter. There is no doubt these people are «travelers» as they like to be called. Many of them wander around talking to themselves in or outside the library. There are also drug deals happening in the parking lot. The sketchy people just stand around loitering and observing normal people.
In conclusion, because the location of this library attracts the riffraff, I don’t feel comfortable bringing my children — which is unfortunate because the kids section and overall facilities are very nice.

This is a great library. Clean and modern. Nice children’s area to sit and read. They have all kinds of activities throughout the year and in the summer. My family has spent many hours here and have always had a good time.

All the staff I have encountered at this library has been wonderful to my daughter and I! If I need help, they don’t make me feel like an inconvenience.
Inside is clean, like the previous reviewer mentioned, it has been remodeled and it’s quite nice. It’s usually very busy whenever I go, which makes me a little sad, but I can’t blame people for going! The selection is really great.
The only complaint is that they don’t take debit card for late fees. I’m not sure if it’s just this location or the whole King county library system.
Love the book drop off on the outside if you need to return books after hours. It’s not just a slot to cram books in — it’s like a book atm! Ha! I lived in Texas for ten years before moving here recently — locals may be accustomed to the library offerings here, but I’m still quite impressed.
Great community resource.

Very nice, especially since reopening after a 2012 remodel. Good computer system for searches and holds. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Not a huge urban library, but a good branch (of the KCLS).
